The hotel is meticulously kept. Everything from the landscaping, to the room amnesties, staff, and breakfast. The room is spacious and can be a small distance to the main dining. Car parking is available for renters. Including EV charge stations. Every morning you see a small truck "cleaning" the beach from all the seaweed that collects there. Even though it's a beautiful beach we barely swam there. In fact we barely saw anyone swim. The sea was just too rough. The winds were constant and strong. It's perfect for kitesurfing but not for a calming swim experience. The location of the hotel is away from most other places worth visiting on the island. Taxis are not easily available. One taxi ride can cost a full day of renting a car. You can rent a car from the hotel or choose to rent from the airport (cheaper options there plus you wouldn't need to pay for an airport transfer when leaving). We found out later our side of hotel rooms are inhabited by local frogs that literally screamed all night long. This happened every night. It took some getting used to. Rooms on the other side of the hotel did not have this problem. It might be worth brining ear plugs to help you sleep if you're not used to this.…
This elegant resort was completely rebuilt after 2017 Hurricane Irma and it shows. Everything is fresh and new with great care for interior design and amenities. The Staff at every level shines, from Reception to housekeeping, the Sense Spa, the Bar, dining, and the beach team all served up with French charm and warmth to make your time there so special. The Concierge team is superb, the management cares to make your stay memorable. the Sense Spa and various treatments were some of the best we have experienced in our travels.
We love the Rosewood brand and any chance we get to stay at one where we’re traveling, we take it. When planning for our anniversary trip this year, I actually pulled up the Rosewood website to see what new hotels they had opened and was really excited to see the new property in St. Barths and booked it immediately. Like all of our Rosewood stays, they did not disappoint. The staff is incredible from the minute we stepped foot outside the airport. Alex was waiting with the car and had water and cold towels to welcome us. He was really knowledgeable about the island and answered all of our questions. The reception staff got us checked in quickly and they had the option to start the checkin process ahead of arrival making things even more smooth by the time we arrived. We didn’t expect our room to be ready (a one bedroom ocean view suite) since we arrived at 11am but it was and we were able to settle in quickly. The room was GORGEOUS! Rosewood took over the old Guanahani resort after the hurricane hit a few years back and messed up many places around the island. They did an excellent job with the renovations and the spaces are stunning. Our view was incredible, the room was huge, and we loved the porch area with a table, chairs, and loungers. The beach staff was really great. Always nice to order a cocktail and sip it while listening to the waves. Due to climate change, the island (and larger area of surrounding islands) is experiencing higher volumes of seaweed. The hotel left a note to apologize and they have to work with the local government for removal. Definitely not their fault at all and towards the end of our stay, they had done quite a bit of clean up of the beach area, but even still - the water was gorgeous. They had complimentary clear boats you could take out, snorkels, SUPs, and more. The Beach House food was really good. We ate breakfast every morning at their great buffet and the staff (especially Paul!) was wonderful. We also had lunch and snacks and dinner there a few times and it was delicious every visit. The spa staff was welcoming and friendly and the facilities were gorgeous to relax before or after your treatment. Definitely book a treatment while you’re there. I should have said that the staff was great before we even arrived because they helped us get all set up with airport transport, car rental, and restaurant reservations. It was so nice to have their help making plans! They even had a note and snacks/champagne in our room on arrival to welcome us back to a Rosewood. They put a special dessert with a note from the staff on our anniversary. It’s the little touches that they do so well and are really meaningful. The resort is on the quieter part of the island. We really liked this but you would need to travel into town to be “in the thick of it” if that’s your thing. If you want a calm, beautiful, welcome experience, you won’t be disappointed in the Rosewood La Guanahani. We can’t wait for our next Rosewood adventure.…
Rosewood resort was incredible. The staff went above and beyond to make our vacation perfect. I would highly recommend this resort for people who are looking for a 5 star resort with luxurious accommodations. Everything was perfect.
Beautifully refurbished property. All staff were just wonderful and willing to accommodate and anticipate our every need. Our junior suite was perfectly situated near the beach, yet very private. We loved it! The food and restaurants were also excellent. We each had a treatment at Sense spa, and the treatments were excellent and the spa a very special place.
Just wrapped up 5 days at the Rosewood for a tenth wedding anniversary trip. Among the things that stood out: (1) impeccable facilities. Everything is very modern and clean; (2) beautiful location. There aren't many places where the pool and a beach of this caliber are so close; (3) bar and food. The breakfast, lunch, and drinks were great. We only had dinner at the resort one night because we wanted to head into town; (4) service. Everyone we encountered was great from check in to check out. Only thing to keep in mind is that you will need to rent a car on the island if you want to travel into town. The roads take a little getting used to but once you've done it once or twice, it's easy.
The property is stunning and the service is impeccable! We went for our honeymoon and stayed in the Ocean Bay Pool Room, which is definitely the best value for your money. Stay in room 52…you won’t regret it. We will definitely be back and congrats to Rosewood on another successful hotel!
My wife and I went to celebrate our 10th anniversary at the Rosewood Le Guanahani. After a smooth arrival and great dinner at Beach House, we slept well in our ocean bay pool room. The room was clean, beautiful and well appointed. It was large and had great views. Unfortunately we woke up to a medical emergency our first morning. I called concierge to get us a doctor which they promptly arranged. The rest of the trip was a bit of a blur but suffice it to say, the Rosewood staff were there every step of the way to help. With my wife in the hospital for a night, they arranged to transport me to and from the hospital so I wouldn’t have to drive in the dark. They arranged a helicopter transfer the next day to st Martin so we could catch a flight home for medical treatment. Every time I walked by the reception area, I was met with discreet but caring people concerned for my spouse and offering assistance. The following morning, the concierge even went so far as to modify the helicopter transfer schedule to properly coincide with our changing flight time out of St Martin….I had not even shared that such flight changes were occurring. They simply figured it out and modified down to the minute to make things smooth. This is next level stuff… After arriving at the airport and getting through security, someone walked up to us in the waiting area with some jewelry - in our haste to leave we had accidentally left it in the room. Apparently the Rosewood staff had swept through immediately after we had left, found the valuables, and raced after us so we’d have them for our flight home. They could have mailed them but obviously that isn’t good enough for the Rosewood. As if all of that wasn’t enough, after we returned home and were recovering from the emergency, the Rosewood staff sent my wife flowers with a kind note. It’s difficult to properly rate our experience with just 5 stars, or to summon words that would properly express our gratitude to the staff of the Rosewood. They were all kind, empathetic, discreet, and frankly very professional. They exemplify what great hospitality is all about. My advice to those reading this is pretty simple. Book this resort. I don’t know what Cheval Blanc, Eden Roc, Le Toiny, or any other resort on the island would do in such a situation. But I do know what the Rosewood Le Guanahani would do. We hope to return one day soon to fully experience the resort and all that St Barths has to offer, and to properly thank all the staff in person for their amazing assistance.…
The location, room, and amenities were so so wonderful! The staff was super thoughtful as well. My only issue-- the food. I've stayed at the Rosewood in Phuket and the Rosewood in Miramar Beach (more than once here) and the food was really really good. Sadly, here, the best thing I ate were the madelines (which were impeccable!). Other than that, I had two pretty sad breakfasts and two lunches that weren't great. After the second lunch, I decided I'd recommend friends stay here but plan to eat off property. But A++ to location, amenities, and staff!
A lovely gem hidden away but still close enough to get all the buzz of St Barth hot spots. The service is outstanding and you get a real "sense of place" with turtles welcoming you while checking in. Cant wait to return.
