DO NOT GO IN THE SUMMER! I had chosen this hotel because of their shallow water and the pictures on their website and Instagram. They had posted on Instagram the day before I arrived showing the crystal clear water. When I arrived the next day there was no mention of any sargassum by our concierge when he picked us up at the airport. We found out the moment we entered the beach villa. There was a horrible rotten smell in the villa and also as soon as you opened the doors leading to the pool and beach. I had to buy air freshners for the inside of the house since the smell was so strong. This was such an expensive trip and had they posted on their website or Instagram the reality of the stay I would have chosen either a different hotel or a different trip overall. I understand the sargassum is not their fault but what they are posting on Instagram is deceiving for customers. DO NOT USE FILTERS OR OLD PICTURES!! Also, no need to rent a car I saw plenty of taxis even late at night which they claim do not exist. Had they given me an option to change my reservation to actually enjoy the hotel and beach villa I booked I would have changed my reservation but once you book they do not allow you to change or cancel. I am sure other people have enjoyed their stay here when sargassum wasnt a problem but that was not the case when I arrived last week of July.

We chose Le Barthelemy for a portion of our family vacation. Everything at the hotel was great, but what set it apart was the hotel staff/team. They all wanted to make sure we had a fantastic vacation. Front desk, concierge, pool and bar staff, etc. All were great. Special shout out to Kevin at the restaurant... he was always taking time to make sure our daughters were happy. Would recommend this place to anyone.

A very nice hotel the check in was outstanding! The detail Of the hotel was impeccable and a very clean hotel!!! However the first day by the beach it was very difficult to get served we had to get up and get our own drinks and Menu. The third day they waited on us and it was great! The Gym needs a lot of work good equipment but a very odd size? it’s approx 12ft wide by 25 feet there is absolutely No room to work out if there are 4 people in there you would not be able to work out!!! Spa is nice the restaurant was beautiful and the breakfast and dinner where great. The management should get more help for the current staff at the restaurant. The location is just ok it’s completely away from every thing And you Need a 30 minute taxi to other sites and restaurants.I decided not to drive the roads are very tight Nice scenery but at night it would be dangerous especially if you had a drink or two.overall the staff where very kind and helpful and I recommend going there. You must check out Bonita restaurant real deal!!! And Gyp Sea bar restaurant beautiful beach and restaurant.

Been a year since whole family was last here. Came back for a 6 night stay. Had the most amazing room, where the back porch led right onto the sand/beach. Kids had the most amazing time. Breakfast selection was good. Dinner was really good this time around. Was told a new chef arrived and it has been stellar. Service at restaurant, pool, beach, concierge, valet parking, front desk, etc... was efficient. Pardon my spelling but have to give callouts to Alain (by pool/beach), Malcolm, Florient (valet), Max (Mgr) plus so many others for notable mentions but everyone was warm and sweet. I apologize for not remembering your names. Kayaking was fun. The team there was great and super helpful. Will be returning.

Amazing accommodation with a beautiful lagoon. The staff is extremely accommodating and they made the stay a 5 star experience. Although it’s expensive it’s worth the money as the experience is a joy from start to beginning, the breakfast was awesome too.

Dear sv28, Thank you for a lovely review from your stay with us just recently, and for choosing Le Barthélemy for your stay in St. Barth. Our whole Le Barth team was absolutely delighted to welcome you and accompany you during this summer stay. We really appreciate your comment on the ultimate experience you had thanks to them. We are fortunate to have a talented and passionate team who takes care of our Guests as if they were family. So glad you felt the spirit that makes Le Barth so special. Delighted to read that the breakfast was a highlight of your stay. It is true that starting the day gazing at the ocean, with a nice breeze and the best Cappuccino from our Coffee Corner is a must-do. Hope you experienced all that our buffet, as well as our Chef and his team, has to offer in the morning. Especially as the whole breakfast comes with your room, including the most delightful à la carte dishes. Thank you again so much for visiting us and look forward to seeing you again soon, Very best, Patrice Lanteri General Manager

This was our first trip to St. Barthelemy and to this lovely property; it will not be our last trip! Getting to St. Barth's is an experience - the airport landing is one of the most harrowing (thrilling?) that we've experienced. Once you have arrived on this lovely island, you know that it is all worth the effort and the thrill to get there. Le Barthelemy is a lovely property set on a quiet bay/lagoon. The setting is spectacular, and the hotel is really perfect. We asked for a Sur-Mesure via Sophie and opted for a second floor room with a balcony overlooking the bay. The room was modern Caribbean with a high ceiling, fan, king bed, large walk in shower with a ceiling rain shower option and plenty of closet space. We were pleasantly surprised to see an iced Rose and a fruit plate in the room. There was a complimentary minibar and a Nespresso-like complimentary coffee machine. There is a safe, hair dryer, 110 V and 220V outlets, LCD TV and other lovely appointments. The balcony had a large, comfortable sofa-like love seat and a table with two chairs. A screen was available by the push of a button to keep out mosquitos. The room had other complimentary items - beach matts, hats, key chain, etc. that we were encouraged to keep. Bottled water was supplied and turn down service was offered daily. But the real gems were the personnel! Sophie was just spectacularly helpful. Charlotte, the customer experience person, had been at Hotel de Paris in St. Tropez when we were there previously. She made this hotel come alive for us, advised us well on St. Barth's, and made reservations for us. She made our trip memorable. Marine was also a standout. Quentin, the Sommelier with the best mustache ever, was spot on with his wine recommendations (including a Puligny-Montrachet from domaine Belleville (Champagne Hospitality) - hint, follow the mustache on the wine list. The restaurant was outstanding for breakfast and for dinner. This is a very special place with outstanding service. I can see why this has been ranked the #1 hotel in the Caribbean. We dug a bit and found that this is a Champagne Hospitality Hotel (Denise Dupre). My wife is a Boston University graduate and Ms. Dupre is an academic leader in the hospitality school there. We see that Champagne Hospitality has hotels in Champagne France , vineyards, etc. Given the outstanding experience we had at Le Barthelemy, not only will we be back to this property, but we plan to visit the other Champagne Hospitality properties as soon as possible. Bravo Ms. Dupre! Absolute perfection! Merci beaucoup!

Dear GdClark, Thank you so much for your uplifting posting on TripAdvisor. We are terribly flattered that your guest experience at Le Barthélemy was such that you titled your review "Perfection" and plan to visit our other Champagne Hospitality properties. I am particularly grateful about your compliments on our team. Sophie, Charlotte, Quentin, all thank you for mentioning them in your review, this is a real reward to them and they thank you immensely for the kind words. We are fortunate to have a passionate and talented team that understand that it is all about the guest. Ultimate goal for us all is to make you happy, feeling at home, relieved of any constraints. This is our human-centered philosophy which we call ‘couture hospitality’. Which philosophy can also be felt in our Champagne Hospitality properties and wine houses in France, especially our sister property Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa nearby Reims. We can’t wait to welcome you there! So happy to know that you were delighted by the hotel’s location, the rooms' amenities, and the overall experience. I can read that you enjoyed all the touches such as the drop-down screen on your terrasse that creates another living room on its own; and such as the bottled waters offered every day: we receive so many compliments that they’re being sustainable, 100% recyclable and a partner of ‘Sos Corail’, a French association that helps saving submarines ecosystems. Our guests also often note the spaciousness of the bathrooms, including the showers and the fact they offer a shuttered window allowing for ocean views. Thank you for pointing out how pristine you found our room accommodations to be, and that you really noticed all the attention to the details. At the end of the day this is what it is all about. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon to Le Barthélemy and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Warm regards,

This review is not from someone who stayed here, this was the top place on my list for our honeymoon but unfortunately budget didn't work out but i wanted to make sure to stop in to check it out. its an impressive lobby with the token swings in the lobby. we had lunch and it was very good, with it being right on the sand. You're able to have loungers which are right in front of the dining tables. The beach in front of the resort was amazing, you could go 250 feet out and still be up to your thighs in the water. There are a few other hotels in the area so nice that you could check things out without driving. The privacy of the resort is also great.

Dear Deannah57, We were absolutely delighted to welcome you for a sunny lunch feet-in-the-sand in our restaurant Amis Plage. I am delighted to read that you found our property beautiful and the location outstanding. It is true that having the lounge chairs right aside your lunch table makes the day comfortable and smooth. Hope you enjoyed both the shallow water in our turquoise bay and the main infinity pool of Le Barthélemy. Did you notice that the music also plays underwater? It is true that we are lucky to be located on a stunning white-sand beach, on one of the longest bay of Saint-Barthélemy called Grand Cul de Sac. We are also fortunate to be in a natural reserve, home of the kindest sea turtles our Guests often get the chance to admire when swimming, paddle-boarding or snorkeling. Thank you also for pointing out the privacy of Le Barthélemy and its beach. We look forward to your next visit on our little slice of paradise, this time for a longer stay, Best regards, Patrice Lanteri General Manager

After not having traveled for two years I may have had higher expectations . The Breakfast was decent fresh pastries and good omelets, fresh OJ once. Menus for dinner limited and due to supply chain this and that plus the fact that they grow nothing on the island I accept the excuse I make for everyone when something goes wrong. The beach is nice , the water a bit cold but the pool is heated. The service is a bit slow and It helps to speak French (my bad) because while everyone speaks English we are not all understood completely. Everyone is friendly and try to please. I would rate the price as not a real value, but then again it is St Barth which itself is factored into the overall price. It is a difficult destination to arrive at. On the way we luckily had a nonstop to St Marten and then we had to take the ferry to the island because the later in the day air transfer were not available three months before. The return was ferry and a 1 stop from St Marten to NY.

This was our second stay at Le Barthelemy in 3 months and it felt like we never left! Upon arrival we were greeted with familiar smiles and the service which anticipated our requests. The property is spotless and well designed. The rooms are spacious and very well furnished. But the best known secret of this hotel is its amazing staff. Every person you meet is super nice and genuinely happy to assist. The island was super busy during our stay in early February, so getting a taxi was a daily challenge. The hotel staff went out of their way to compensate for this, including getting us to the restaurants on 2 occasions in their house car. We are already scheduled to return in April and we can’t wait!

Stayed 3 nights, after 6 nights in St. Jean. Great place to relax and unwind. Very quiet part of the island. Close to a couple other hotels and their restaurants. About a 15 drive to Gustavia Beautiful property. Perfect view as you enter the hotel ,of the lagoon. Rooms are gorgeous. Decor Soo pretty. Well appointed. We had a Lakeview Room. Upper floor but not much of a breeze on this side of the building. Complimentary beach bag, sun visors and a mini bar with water and sodas and candy bars were provided . Beach Service was great. Food : Buffet breakfast and eggs to order - many options , great. Lunch-at the beach was great . Many options and tasty. Amis: see my review. It was ok imo. Unlikely to return for dinner. Dinner at Le Sereno was much nicer at the same price point. Spa: had a good facial. Blow dry was good but exhorbitantly priced at 150 euros. Housekeeping was spotty. Room was only properly restocked with shampoo etc on the first night. Even though hand soap was mushy and I used one of my own soaps becos of this , housekeeping never thought to replace with a fresh bar. Thick disgusting layer of dust on the vents of AC unit and despite asking for it to be cleaned ( reception and housekeeper were told ) first thing in the morning, 6 hours later it still had not been done. It took another trip to reception before it got attended to. Maintenance person was efficient and personable and did a thorough job. Shouldn’t housekeeping be on top this. It had clearly not been cleaned in many many months it was soo thick. Overall a good stay. Beautiful property if you want to relax and unwind. Family friendly.

Dear Sungirlxxxx, Thank you so much for taking the time to tell about your experience at Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa. We are delighted to read that your overall experience has been good. Glad you found the property beautiful, the decor ‘Soo pretty’ and well appointed. It’s also nice to read you found the beach service was great. Isn’t nice to spend a whole day right on the sand, going from lounge chair, to lunch, to warm and calm ocean, and swim with the sea turtles, so friendly and precious in our bay. We were disappointed to see that we failed to impress you with some aspects of your experience. We're continuously striving and searching for excellence and know there is always room for improvement. In the event that you have an interest or a few minutes to give me any further details and discuss, it would certainly be appreciated.
