This is located a few blocks away from the end of the malecón, and requires walking up a gradual incline. It’s less than a 15-minute walk so not too bad. As our taxi from the ferry arrived into Esperanza and we passed the hotels/vacation rentals along the malecón, I was trying to remember why we opted for Villa Coral off the main strip. I remembered that it’s because most places required a minimum two-night stay and we were only staying one night. The gal in the office was very friendly and helpful. She explained a lot and also referred us to a document on the back of the room door. This is another place where you could be charged for staining face towels with makeup. I don’t use makeup but we brought our own face towels in case we might stain them with dirt or what have you. Easy solution. The room was spacious. There is a fridge and microwave which were nice options, especially since I always seem to have leftovers from restaurants. The shower water had great pressure and temperature. There was an older A/C unit under the window and a newer one higher on the same wall, plus a ceiling fan. No shortage of ways to beat the heat if needed.…
We rented this for a single night so we could experience the island and biobay. Natalie was super helpful in getting us info to get around, places to eat, etc. Great room for the price. Comfy bed, super clean and even had a mini fridge. Will definitely be back!
We are usually hotel room folks, and we booked this guesthouse for our 1 night Vieques stay. We were very pleased with it! The gal who checked us in and the little fellow with her were kind and helpful! The apartment was very clean and well put together. I have a very picky 15 year-old and she, too, felt comfortable in the apartment. There was so much space. AC in each room worked well. Water pressure worked well. And we utilized the cute but super helpful outside shower several times to get sand, etc. off of us before entering the apt. The rooftop was cute and there were plenty of nice seats in shade on the property. Also there were 3 parking spots in front on the property where we could park our rented golf cart. Check out was fast and simple. There is a little market about 3-4 blocks away. Away from the bars so nice and quiet at night. Nice place to stay!…
We figured we were safe to ignore the bad reviews about cold water but learned otherwise! It's cold water completely in Room 5. Do not stay in Room 5, or any other room for that matter, unless you check the water temperature at the sink and in the shower for yourselves to see if that's what you want for what you pay. We stayed for 3 nights and only had water warm enough for a shower on our last morning, thanks to poor onsite and offsite management. Onsite management told us our water was warm but we could move to another room but that room's water would be similar. So why move and waste our time? We were told the water is solar and to shower in the afternoon/evening so we changed up our schedule to accommodate and it was no different. Offsite management didn't respond for 24 hours so they aren't very involved and paying attention. After departing, I emailed to settle up about our issues and have gone ignored. We moved to Room 6 on our last night but also had ants in that room, but did get one hot shower each! I depended on them for a hair dryer because before arrival, they said they would have one, but didn't. They finally brought one. They said they'd get ant traps and never did. The pillows are also very flat and we had stains on towels. Just not as good of a memory as it should have been.…
I reserved the two-bedroom apartment and five guest rooms for a vacation with friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. We could not have picked a better place to gather and celebrate together. The rooms were clean and comfortable and service from Mireya and the whole staff was friendly and attentive. Upon arrival, they made sure we felt at home and helped us understand the lay of the land for Esperanza and around the island of Vieques. They were ready with recommendations for good breakfast with a view and the best beaches. We were there off season, so it was really helpful to get advice regarding businesses that were open, those closed since the hurricane, or those closed until high season. The patio on the second floor was our go-to hang out space in the mornings and afternoons/evenings. The roof deck is closed due to damage from hurricane Maria, but we didn't miss it. The patio was ideal - plenty of space and seating, gorgeous views, coffee and the ever important bottle opener for our cervezas. Note: if you like to go to bed early or sleep late, ask for a room other than #2 that has a window over the patio. They do have quiet hours in place from 10pm to 9:30am. I stayed in the apartment and it was exactly what we needed. It gave us a space in doors to gather as a group during rain or share a quick meal. It was also great to have a full-size fridge and other kitchen amenities. Speaking of amenities, my group of 9 people got lots of use out of the beach towels, beach chairs and coolers provided for guests. Also, the free wifi was very reliable during our stay. I cannot say enough good things about the Villa Coral Guesthouse. Wonderful people, comfortable, safe rooms and an awesome location.…
Villa Coral isn't on Esperanza's main drag, and that's all the better. A nice 10 minute walk from the malecón, you'll stroll through a sweet residential district to get to and from the beach and the nightlife. Chickens, ponies, and dogs roam, and salsa blares from passing cars. This is Puerto Rico! People wave on the street. You're staying in a real neighborhood. It's safe, neighborly and friendly. The guest house itself is well-kept, with very friendly and helpful staff to check you in, give you tips and otherwise make you feel at home. Coffee is served on the patio in the morning around 8am (You can make your own if you're an early riser). I was really happy to take advantage of the beachy extras the place has to offer--they understand what draws people to Vieques. Rooms come equipped with nice beach towels in addition to the bath linens. Also, a couple of portable chairs and even over-the-shoulder coolers are provided in each room to encourage long, lazy picnicky days on the island's absolutely stunning world-class beaches. Vieques is one of the truly great islands in the Caribbean. I love Esperanza for its quiet beauty. If you want to stay close to the nightlife, it's there for you on the malecón. But if you want to chill and don't mind working off your mofongo with a little stroll now and then, Mireya and her team will provide you with a lovely place to crash and dream about your day.…
My boyfriend and I spend a couple days in Vieques and we are more than happy to have choose Villa Coral as our hotel. Staff is friendly, gave us a map and explained all about the island. Room is a good size, very clean and cute. There is a nice and cozy common area in the balcony for hangout, chill, and use the wifi. The guesthouse is well located. 10min walk from restaurants/bars. Taxi to Ferry/Playa Caracas was 5/7 dol. Walk distance from Playa Negra if you feel like hiking a little bit through a trail in the woods (not bad at all if you go early morning/late afternoon - otherwise too hot!) Also, the room is supplied with beach towels, beach chairs, and a cooler that guests can use during the stay. We absolutely loved it and highly recommend Villa Coral.
Great value. Rooms are large, beds are comfortable, very clean+ all the accessories you might need for the beach - chairs, cooler, beach towels. A ~10 min walk to the main strip. I couldn't see the sea from my room but you can see it from the common balcony area.
A friend and I stayed I. February and had such time at Villa Coral. Close to the boardwalk and beach. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean, and the generator was able to charge my phone no problem. It looks like they have power back now, which is amazing! Everyone we interacted with here was so nice, and gave great recommendations about everything. Thanks for such a comfortable stay!
I was hesitant because of unreliable of power. Don’t be worried. Mireya is a true professional. We were gone most of the day but came home for lunch. The place was very clean and spotlessly decorated. The bathroom being new is so nice. With so many windows and fans there was no need for air conditioners in February. Upon arrival Mireya even has an office with maps, etc. At every step of the way Mireya was quick to respond, always detailed, and professional. I was challenged with understanding how only using a generator at night would be ok for me. Non-issue! The beaches were empty and Mireya has two chairs, and towels. On top of all of that, when people asked where we were staying they commented how much they liked Mireya. :) I can’t wait to go back!
