No frills here but it is clean. They have a great gift shop, probably the best in Esperanza. Tradewinds is rustic and pretty old, many rooms are very small with tiny windows onto the deck. I was disappointed they didn't have shampoo in the rooms or even for sale in the shop and I had to walk a couple of... More

"Summertime and the living is easy." That is how it is on Vieques in the off season especially during the week (and all year around for that matter.) My wife and I spent three fun and relaxing days at this fine inn recently with a group of ex-professors from the University of Puerto RIco-Humacao. Of course you can also come... More

Room was pretty basic (cinderblock construction) but had king size bed and overlooks the water. No windows in room, but had a door onto a shared (with two other rooms) sun deck with partial water view. Clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was very nice hot meal from their menu. Staff was very friendly and helpful. On the main waterfront street... More

We stayed in Tradewinds for a night when we were in Vieques. The location of this hotel is perfect - it is right on one end of Malecon and is close by to the bars and restaurants. The bio-bay tour pick up/ drop of is just right in front of the hotel as well. The view of the bay from... More

We spent three nights here in room 3. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and everything functioned. It was a bit dark since it's long and narrow and the only windows are in the bathroom and the door to the shared deck. But that didn't matter because we were only there to sleep and shower. The rest of the... More

The staff was very very friendly! Especially David! We got our days mixed up and missed the date that we were supposed to check in. He went above and beyond and made arrangements so we could stay with them. He also make sure we could still go on the bio bay tour which was a breathtaking experience! The guest house... More

Simple, clean rooms. Really, that's all you need, since all your time will be spent on the beach! You can tell the place is aging, but it is clean and comfortable. My biggest complaint is that the shower never got warm. The owners are super helpful and nice people.

This place was so perfect.... perfect location across the street from a walkway bordering the water very nice to take a stroll... just down the street from a few good homey bars and restaurants without the extreme bar nightlife feel. The staff and owners were all so very nice and helpful and the room (Room 02) was a pleasant surprise..... More

Whenever we visit Vieques we eat at Trade Winds. The food has always been good, particularly dishes with sea food. You must start with a local drink such as passion fruit mojito with Puerto Rican rum. The appetizers are good - fried calamary and goat cheese with tomatoes. For main dish we shared a papardelle pasta with lobster, which was... More

Nice place. Very clean. But simple. Rooms have necessities only. Not a fancy hotel but very nice and clean for the money. Was a bit noisy when the restaurant was open but was fine after 1030ish. The included breakfast in the morning was absolutely amazing. I had blueberry pancakes! We did the biobay package and that was great and very... More
