My son and I stayed with Nilda for 5 night of our 7 night trip to Puerto Rico. We had an amazing experience here. If you are someone who likes a luxury hotel, then this is probably not for you, but if you like to get off the beaten path and learn about the people who live in the place... More

As we were pulling up I saw Nilda standing in front of her house with the gate open for us. We had called from just down the road to let her know we were close. I waved at her and she returned it with a warm smile and spread her arms in welcome. She gave my wife, 2 sons and... More

We loved staying here. We had so much fun Nilda and her husband were amazing hosts. We enjoyed breakfast with the hosts every morning while we mapped out our days adventures. When we returned in the evening dinner was prepared for us (pay extra and tip well please!) The room was fine, the view was amazing and the pool a... More

Nelda welcomes her guests with open arms and you get a completely authentic perspective on rural life in Puerto Rico, in a beautiful setting that's convenient to the rain forest and to the eastern part of the island. She has a big heart and is happy to share her love of the island, its history and customs, with helpful recommendations... More

You learn a lot about the native Puerto Ricans, the Taino, as the hospital runs monthly gatherings. She treated us like family and we were served breakfast and lunch with with more then enough home cooked food for everyone. There is a futon and a king sized bed which comfortably fit the four of us. In the morning the grandson... More

This place was a lot easier to access than I thought and Nilda is a fantastic host. Great bbq dinner and the beaches are very close. Surrounded by the lush forests. Wonderful stay. She lent us towels to use a resort beach. Funny!

This place is WAY OFF the beaten path - but my wife and I loved it. Staying with Nilda and her family for 3 nights was one of the highlights of our trip to PR. I'm just going to confirm what several other people already wrote: Nilda is one of the sweetest people in the world and she instantly made... More

My friend and I stayed with Nilda and her family for two nights. The highlight of this experience was Nilda herself, a sweet woman with a powerful love for the world that she imparts to all that come her way. She cooked us meals of local fare, with much of it grown near her home. When a group of high... More

La Paloma Guest House is well worth staying in. It is true that it's off the beaten track, but it's a rare opportunity to stay in the Puerto Rican countryside away from the majority of the tourism infrastructure. In addition, "off the beaten path" still means only half-an-hour from El Yunque and 45 minutes from San Juan. Nilda was a... More
