I had stayed here before a few years back, but disappointed now that I came back. The place is listed with ammenities like a restaurant and a bar-lounge. However the restaurant is only for breakfast. I arrive at the porperty at 8 Pm after a long day, just to find out there were no dining on-site, and no bar. Also was shocked when I went to my room and the AC was on at 63 degrees F. When i approach the AC, it has a sign asking not the increase the temperature above 68 degress. Way too cold for me to sleep, or be in a room at. Not to mention the energy cost and waste. Guess it is not for me.
Out of 4 hotels during our 1 week PR tour, I was only worried for this one if I made a right choice. It is dislocated out of the city limits and it had very few reviews, but whatever the case I thought it couldn't be that bad for 1 night. Now, after we stayed here I can strongly recommend it, but only if you have a car. I simply didn't want to pay 300+ $ per night for Hilton which was on the beach, but a useless one, what we witnessed when we visited the next door La Guancha boardwalk. Another hotel, Holiday Inn (around 180 $) we eliminated because of the pool renovation, so we made our booking here. It was the cheapest option with both, pool and breakfast included at a very good price of 120 $ a night. Hotel is located close to the airport, in nothing to see and do suburb, around 10-15 min drive from Ponce center. Huge and secured with a ramp parking lot - free. Kind and quick check in upon arriving. Hotel has only two floors, no elevator, so the only issue was taking the luggage up by stairs. Room was spacious - a standard two queens room I stayed many times, like in Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn. Fair size pool with sunbeds around. Breakfast was included - classic American one. Don't expect any luxury, but very good and functional basics at a very reasonable price.…
This hotel is absolutely stunning. The staff are extremely friendly including Christian supervisor of the lobby staff he went out of his way to help with information of the hotel and shopping areas. Also adonis from the entertainment team was so lovely. Kelvin the entertainment leader was lovely too overall an amazing team a credit to this hotel would definitely recommend this place its do beautiful clean and the views are breathtaking. Loved waking up to the sound of the peacocks and the ocean sounds. Overall love this hotel would definitely come back
Everything was good, until I lost an item and when I called to get it back, it magically disappeared. Therefore I will not stay here again. They do not respect customers property. It the first time something like this happens to me a hotel. It’s sad.
An excellent experience of being able to stay at the hotel and the first class service. The hotel has a privileged location where it allows me to go anywhere in the city in a comfortable way. we will be back soon.
My group and I just had the worst experience with this place. The afternoon staff were rude, disrespectful, withheld info about our accommodations, and actively targeted us with differentiated rule enforcement. I get that there’s a lot of anti-tourist sentiment in PR right now because some mainlanders have been complete jerks. And because of that, I spoke with group about being respectful, following all COVID-related rules, and being good guests. We’d been on the island for 6 days before checking into Caribe Hotel with absolutely no problems whatsoever, until we got here. When we arrived before check-in, they allowed us to store our luggage in a meeting room. However, when we went back later post-check in my group was yelled at for going into the room (with the staff member there) because “we can’t have this many people in the room”. This was after my group was yelled at while quietly waiting against a wall in the lobby while I was getting the room keys, being told, “We cannot have this many people in here! You have to leave!”. On our second night there, we came back into the hotel from dinner and the same staff person yelled at the group for forgetting to do the temp check and hand sanitizing. Again, we had no problem doing it - but the staff person’s tone and volume were as if we had intentionally forgotten to do it. Here’s the thing, though - I personally observed many people not wearing masks in the lobby, doing the temp check and sanitizing, and none of them were yelled at like we were. The kicker was the fact that at no point during our stay, until I called on the second night, was I informed that we were provided free breakfast as part of our stay. I even heard the same staff woman tell others that they did, but she never said anything to me. I checked my reservation, and there’s no mention of it, so I figured that we didn’t get it with our rooms. But we did, and we were never informed. That’s breakfast for 20 people that I didn’t have to buy for them elsewhere. The pool water was dirty and cloudy. The rooms looked like they hadn’t been updated since the 60’s. The location was out in the middle of nowhere. The one star is for the morning staff, who were kind and helpful. I would highly recommend NOT staying here.…
I've been staying at this property for many years. The latest remodeling and other property improvements have made this a much more pleasant place. The rooms are comfortable, and the on-site restaurant provides a very good breakfast option. The staff is always friendly and most are bilingual.
The outside looks awesome they have done a great job except for all the whole in parking lot needs repaving asap.the inside needs help need desperately I was very disappoint with shower head and faucet very out dateded actually shows health hazard.the room s are also very very outdated need remodeling.the staff and food are awesome.overall it give it a 6.
The hotel is nice, and the room was nice, but has drawbacks. The hotel does not have an elevator and there is no bellman to assist if you are booked on the second floor. The hotel is rectangular, so it you get a room around 230 ish you are on the opposite side of the hotel (longer walk). The ice machine only works on the second floor. All the rooms with two beds are only double sized, good enough for only one person. Towels, if you book here, ask ahead of time for them to have enough towels in the room. This hotel is not close to anything, you will need transportation if you are going somewhere. The maintenance personnel said for the AC do not put the temp higher than 68 F or the room will start to smell.
A wonderful place, clean and comfortable. The rooms have everything you need, everything is very neat and clean. The pool was very clean and nice. The employees are very helpful. The hotel is very central, it is close to everything you need. I loved everything, my family and I will be back soon.
