Family fun on the beach! Small, but beautiful resort with plenty of fun for all ages. Pickleball, tennis, ping pong, volleyball, pool, horse shoes, corn hole and more. We were there during spring break, so there was also scheduled activities a couple of times a day. A great bonus was an endless supply of beach chairs so no waking up early to try and catch a spot! Each unit has a full kitchen as well as a washer & dryer and the grocery store is less than 10 minutes away. There are outdoor grills and a fantastic restaurant on site. The coconut mojito is perfect in the middle of a sunny day on the beach and the red snapper is the best on the island. The kind staff was just icing on the cake of this spring break worthy of repeating. We hope to visit again soon! (you need a car)
As both a globalist for Hyatt and a Residence Club member, I know the difference between the two. A did not expect a concierge or upgrades. This property is extremely clean, renovated, and has beautiful grounds. The staff is friendly and hard working. We arrived 5 minutes prior to the lobby closing for the night (closes at midnight). Rodney checked us in and was courteous, professional and took the time to go over the resort with me and my family. There is not daily housekeeping as is common with timeshare properties, but we never had issues getting clean towels. The beach is lovely and private. I loved that it was in a protected cove. Staff was always present when I wanted a chair and umbrella and would always place it wherever we wanted. The resort is quiet at night and never was crowded on the beach or pool. The staff at Mahi Mahi were also professional and hard working. They are open from 7 am- 10:30 pm. I thought the food was reasonably priced and had great drinks. There has been a mention of construction next door. I noticed it for a maximum of an hour in our 4 day stay and could not hear it from the beach. It was also stated on the website that there would be construction next door. So we were ready for it. In all, we can’t wait to return to this beautiful property.…
First visit to the property. We requested a late check in. Arrived at approximately 1:30AM - security guard asked for our name. Once at the lobby we were immediately shown to our room. We had the studio room. Every room at this property faces the pool/beach area. The room and bathroom were both clean and neat. We shared a common entry way with the room next door which has a mini washer/dryer which is helpful to dry out those wet beach towels. The mini kitchen had some staples: plates, bowels, silverware, coffee maker and even small travel size of washing machine soap/dryer sheets. A real plus I would think if you're traveling with small children. A couple of things to note: 1.) There is no daily housekeeping. If you require housekeeping, clean towels, etc. you need to contact the front desk. 2.) They do not offer poolside service. You will need to walk to the onsite outdoor restaurant Mahi Mahi for all beverages/food 3.) They do not comb the beach. The beach was full of seaweed and coconuts from high-tide. Once you get past that - the beach is clean 4.) The food and drinks at Mahi Mahi are a little pricy but overall very tasty 5.) The staff was very friendly and pleasant. We had no issues with our room but I can't imagine they would be difficult to deal with if a request was made. 6.) The interior doors - especially in the lobby - could use a good scrub. There were black dirty finger prints during our entire stay on these interior doors. That's just me being picky. Overall our stay at the property was pleasant. If you ask at the front desk for food recommendations they will give you a list. That was helpful. I would recommend this property to a friend.…
We love Hyatt and this Hyatt is one of the best. Great service. Staff are so accomplishing , friendly, just always great. Room are clean, grounds are Georgeous , relaxing and quite. We love it. 2nd visit this year . Favorite room 5808, great views of ocean and pools. Gorgeous landscaping.
We just got back from a three day stay at this property and it was absolutely terrible. We arrived a little after midnight. You have to go through security to enter the resort. I gave him my name and he allows us to enter the resort. We get to the lobby area and the lights are off, doors locked, and no one is there. The security guard to enter the property didn't care to inform us on what to do when we got there or anyone who worked there that we were arriving. We call their main number and another security guard comes over with our room key. We were traveling with our four month old. We reserved a crib and of course it wasn't in the room. I told the security card we needed one. Now I reserved a crib on my reservation, all they have are play pens. The play pen was broken so we asked for another one, an hour goes by and it still hadn't arrived. I call again and no one picks up. My wife calls from her phone and they pick up, she explains the situation, and they hang up without saying a word! We keep calling back and they're purposely not picking up the phone. I can brush a lot of things off during a vacation, but this is for a four month old!! - The room itself is updated, we had a nice view of the pools. The beach is kept in terrible condition. There's a ton of seaweeds all over the place. They have basketball and tennis courts, a small soccer field, and a play room with some games. - Make sure you order groceries or stock up on food & drinks near by because the property has nothing available, not even a vending machine for a quick snack or drink. There's only one restaurant available on the property and we didn't eat there based on others reviews. - The room next to us was playing music loudly at 12:30AM, we called the front desk, and security was quick to handle that situation. This isn't a party hotel, it's 99% families. - You'll need a car if you want to get around. - If you have Hyatt status, don't expect any benefits. This isn't a full blown Hyatt hotel, I think it's also a timeshare. We asked for late check out and they couldn't do it because the "owners" were coming in. I was willing to pay to have another room for a couple hours since we had a later flight and they wanted us to pay for a full nights rate when we had to leave at 3pm. No, thank you. Overall, just a horrible stay. I've traveled a lot and this is easily the worst vacation I've ever had. I will never step foot on this property again. It's 20K Hyatt points per night, Bahamar charges the same and its 100x better. …
Staff was lovely. Room was muggy and warm. TV didn’t have any streaming options. Restaurant prepared frozen food. It was perfectly fine. Nothing was egregious (other than AC not working well), but absolutely nothing special either.
Last week, one day after making a non refundable reservation, the Hyatt hacienda del mar sent a form email saying that we “will be experiencing heavy noise while staying” at the hotel. Of course there was no information about heavy noise when we made our non refundable booking. I have been trying over and over to contact the hotel and have been routed multiple times to call centers that have been unhelpful. I finally got the number for what I was told is the front desk and have left voicemail that’s never been responded to. I’ve never heard of a hotel that knowingly places guests in a room with awareness in advance that there will be “heavy” noise. My husband and I will need to work part of the time we are at the hotel, and I’m already dreading this trip that we’re locked into before we’ve even left. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, this place isn’t it. AVOID THIS HOTEL.…
We have nothing but positive comments to share about this resort. It is the place to go if you want to enjoy the ocean breezes and relax. It is not a party place. The staff are amazing. All of them must be trained to look for opportunities to connect with the customers. If you need something, all you have to do is ask. And then, you can expect a follow up phone call to ensure your needs were met. Incredible! A special thank you to Rodney, at the front desk, who assisted us numerous times with questions. We rented the one bedroom and it was perfect. The kitchen is stocked with all of the items you will need if you intend to cook your own meals, including a blender. It is also important to note that ALL of the rooms have balconies that face the ocean and the pool area. The view is incredible. From our room on the 6th floor, you can even see the ocean while taking a shower! …
My wife and I just finished up a wonderful 4 night stay at the Hyatt in Dorado. The facility is located right on the beach and also has a large swimming pool and 2 hot tubs. Our room was nicely furnished and was clean on our entry. Staff was helpful. There is also the Mahi Mahi restaurant on the property which we ate at all 4 nights and the food was delicious and reasonably priced along with the drinks.. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere for its guests.
As Hyatt Residence club owners for over 20 years we have had a lot of wonderful Hyatt vacations … however the staff at Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar are simply the best we have ever encountered! From the front desk, to activities staff, the the restaurant they are a wonderful staff that made our two weeks here so fun. The resort itself is beautiful. The units are spacious and lovely. The pool and beach are wonderful. There was amble chairs and umbrellas even at full capacity. Plenty for families to do with games sprinkled throughout the property, an active activities calendar, pool, hot tubs, kids pool and of course the beach. There is construction happening at the adjacent property. If construction noise bothers you ask for a unit in building five, and take a chair on the beach.
