However it is a little rundown but the assistance, free made breakfast to order and complementary evening drinks with snacks every night are worthwhile staying for a getaway.
The Hotel is non-smoking and when I saw people smoking around us security was on then once we inform them. There also is a public beach right outside which is nice for a change of scenery relaxing. We are really happy here again it’s not fancy but it does the job if you enjoy the Hilton chains and you want a beautiful area for a mini vacation. We’re enjoying the spa service as well for a relaxing massage.
We’re about 45 minutes away from San Juan airport but took an Uber to save money on a taxi.
Support the tourism in Puerto Rico!
I can say that If it weren’t for Alex switching our room so we could be close to our family, we wouldn’t have had as much of a fun time spending time with them and it would’ve been a huge inconvenience so Alex thank you so much.
Among the many failures I noted during my stay, I want to bring several to your attention as they speak to the extensive damage being caused to what I’m sure is a vital capital asset in your portfolio, in addition to exposing your organization to potential legal action.
First, the roof has failed. When it rains, as it so often does in a tropical location, the water pouring into the facility is collected with buckets and towels. While I hope this is a recent failure and is in the process of being repaired, what I observed in the interior finishes seems to indicate this has been a long-standing problem. In the corridors, I observed the wood finishes were rotting from the rainwater.
Second, the corridors the carpets have deteriorated to the point of tearing. While this is unsightly and not in keeping with the standards, I’ve come to associate with the Hilton brand, as a person with a certain degree of mobility challenges, this caused me to small amount of concern for my personal safety and that of other guests. I’m sure you are aware of all the violations triggered by a slip/fall hazard in a hospitality facility.
Third, the presence of roaches in the coffee area.
The last item I will note is that despite numerous calls to the front desk, my request to have my balcony cleared of the copious bird droppings from a bird nest on the light fixture went wholly unanswered. This compromised my ability to fully utilize my room, and glaringly underlined the level of disregard for guest experience exhibited by the current hotel management.
It pains me to have to send this note to you. This property has always been a place where I could come and relax, and one which I could recommend to others without hesitation. On the contrary, now I will be forced to tell them to take their business elsewhere, both for their comfort and safety. I can only hope you will take my concerns seriously and investigate why this property has been allowed to fall so far from the Hilton standard of excellence.
Sincerely,
Justo Vinales
At 4, when we checked in, we asked for blankets for the pullout bed for our kids. It is 11:30pm. We have called or have gone down to the front desk 6 times. Still, my kids have no pillows. Going to bed at 11 was the desired time but we keep waiting for those elusive unavailable pillows.
Our bath tub is clogged and this place needs a major update. Also, my son and I spent a couple of minutes cleaning up the beach as there was an enormous amount of trash on the beach. This is more of a testament to the clientele than the hotel, but worth mentioning. I cleaned it up for no other reason than I really don't want fish or turtles choking on nonsense.
Now back to my drinking problem: when I looked at the bill and saw that it was $10 for a corona, the bar tender said "well it's because of coronavirus that we don't have happy hour." Oh, what a coincidence! Because of coronavirus, it turns out that my credit card doesn't work either. Crazy.
Seriously, this place, for the price, is a massive disappoinment.
We stayed Saturday -Wednesday. Housekeeping only came every 3 days and on the day housekeeping (Tuesday) was supposed to happen, they never came and I had to call them to get our room serviced in the evening. They finally came around 7pm. I didn’t even have a fitted bed sheet on the bed, it was just a sheet being used as a fitted bed sheet. The hotel failed to mention all of their facilities were closed on their website. So that was a big disappointment since there is not much to do around the area but eat. Excursions are 1 hour or more away so we were stuck at the resort all weekend. Pool was constantly dirty and barely cleaned. Hotel bathroom tiles were dirty and looked like they haven’t been cleaned in months. Corners of the room and bathroom were filthy. The free continental breakfast in the morning was HORRIBLE. Only options were pancakes, eggs, sausage and potatoes. The food was always cold and never fresh. The pancakes were always hard and you could tell they were pancakes from the day before. The only positive is that the main restaurant’s food was decent. The mofongo was okay. However, I do not recommend staying here. The ratings online definitely DO NOT match resort in person.
"This is not a resort!! The place is terrible. It's pool is dirty, water leaks all over lobby, locals party every night, broken patio chairs"Read full review
