This hotel faces the seaside. It has a large pool and surrounding area adjacent to direct and private beach access. The rooms are spacious and clean. Amenities are shared with the Embassy suites which is adjacent such as Gym (treadmill was intermittently on the blink but promptly fixed whenever prompted), restaurant and bar. Inlike Embassy clients however, bar was not "open" and buffet breakfast was not included in the price. A very reasonably priced value for a beachside , sunny hotel. Weekends get a bit crowded but congenial and always "civilized" as local families and youg adults come to relax off work.

Financial department deceit and dishonest treatment of customer! First let me state that front desk personnel were better that excellent. The most kind and customer service oriented people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Great Job!! However, I am very disappointed at the phone conversation reply received by hotel accounting services regarding reimbursement for a night stay not incurred at the resort. Simply we checked out 3/12/2020 9AM but were charged a night stay any way. I spoke with front-desk who were very professional on dealing with my request. I was forwarded to the accounting personnel , who informed me there was going to be no reimbursement. The reason and explanation given is “there was no emergency to account for us checking out early” as if one was necessary in order to receive reimbursement. We complied with resort hours of operation. There was no mention in resort agreement or website stating that early check-out will result in full resort room and stay charges for full amount of reservation. Our action was not a cancellation of reservation but rather a decision to check-out one day early due to the travel difficulties developing at the time due to the corona virus worldwide pandemic. Even the Puerto Rico Governor took drastic measure days later to ensure the health and safety of citizens and tourist alike. At the time it was the most sensible action we could take and one that did not seem to have any controversy since checking-out early is a customary and accepted service throughout hotel and resort industries.

This hotel has great potential but either their management is lacking in basic skills or they know nothing on how to capitalize on potential. First, you can’t get a basic cup of coffee. Let me explain, Aquarius has no place to get even a continental breakfast or a cup of coffee. They are completely dependent on Embassy Suites which is basically their sister hotel. You can get a cup of coffee but the guy at the front told me it would be less coffee than I would get at the cafe. The cafe is ONLY open Saturdays & Sunday’s and it opens at 9:30. I got two different times from two people. So basically if you want a cup of coffee you’re either paying for the buffet breakfast at Embassy or the cafe but if it’s a weekday you can’t get coffee at all unless you want a teeny bit from the buffet breakfast. Mind you that this hotel is set back quite a distance from anywhere you could get a cup of coffee from. Second, housekeeping rarely left the amount of towels we needed and we started the week with 4 wash cloths and by the end of the week housekeeping had not left one single wash cloth. Third, the carpet in our room was filthy and grimy, I was too scared to walk barefoot on it. They really could improve by at least offering free coffee in that area where they have the free popcorn and getting some new carpets.

This was an odd stay for us. The staff was excellent and helpful. The understanding we had between the Aquarius and the Embassy next door was completely misunderstood. The Aquarius has no amenities, the Embassy does and only allows guests of Aquarius to use the facilities. Therefore, there were odd rules you had to follow. Such as: -You must wear a wristband at all times to get into the Embassy facilities -You must sign in and sign out for pool towels and they must be returned by 11pm that day -You must have a "beach key" to gain access to the beach -You must pay to self park while keeping a sign on your dash -You must keep a validated ticket to get in and out of the parking area It was a ton of things to keep in mind and more importantly, ON YOURSELF before going anywhere. Beyond that, the rooms were fine and clean, but the walls were very thin. They didn't replace our towels the entire stay yet they came in to make the bed. The beds were extremely small. The restaurant and bars at the Embassy are great (again, wonderful staff!).The pools are beautiful. They do keep odd hours (outside bar is open 11am-5pm and the inside is open 5pm-?) but they're an entirely different facility so I can't really comment. Highly likely not to return to this facility. Just too odd.

Room Tip: The room we stayed in had very thin walls. I'm not sure where would be best.

While the state of emergency was on, there were power shortages and airlines had institutes waivers, this accomodation was not prepared to accomodate our cancellation in whole or or just in part. Not my choice of place for a safe stay, and I didn't go there.
