We reserved this hotel looking for a place to crash after work and what we found was a hidden jem. The man that received us in the front desk was extremely helpful and gave us a mini tour of the facilities where he highlighted the historical values of the building and its rooms. We were delighted by his enthusiasm. This hotel is an attraction of its own, it has a great location, you have restaurants, bars, ice cream shops and much more at a walking distance. It was a great experience over all and we will definitely recommend and come back.

We reserved two rooms and the service was phenomenal. They have a large parking lot. We were greeted by a very courteous and professional hotel staff. The hotel is a historic landmark in Mayagüez. The town is lovely and has a great bakery near by. It’s excellent location to stay and explore all the beaches in the west side of the island. You can choose a central location like Mayagüez and explore all around without being tied to one particular area.
Thank you for the wonderful service.

I have stayed in the Hotel Colonial many times and it truly is a beautiful, peaceful place. This time I booked and I had an issue with the reservation because Google had incorrect info and I was saddened that I had to cancel. About 10 minutes after I hung up with the hotel I was on the phone to cancel and the hotel manager called me to let me know she was informed of my issue and had advised the front desk that everything was ok and it all worked out so I was able to keep my reservation. I was so happy because I was close by with family and it was a bit late to start searching for another hotel for 2 nights. Danny (Front desk) was EXCELLENT!! What a pleasant and very professional young man. It was he who contacted the manager to explain my situation and I owe him a debt of gratitude for taking the initiative to try and resolve the issue and allow me to keep my reservation. This hotel is lucky to have him as an employee. Ms Nancy Toro, Hotel Manager is an excellent administrator and also very professional and accommodating. Thank you for saving my reservation Danny, you are truly an exceptional young man and Nancy for your professionalism and prompt attention and resolution. You will fall in love with the quaintness of this hotel. It’s not fancy but it’s simplistic style is very comfortable also very clean and the staff will make it worth your stay. There is even a room with a copula and a nice balcony overlooking the street. Nice to relax in. I love this hotel because of it’s history and its close proximity to the beautiful Mayagüez plaza and Ricomini Bakery (the best) as well as Rex Cream ice cream-Heavenly and sooo Delicious (corn ice cream-sounds odd but a must try) also the coconut is yummy. (2 locations in this area)
It is indeed a beautiful piece of Mayagüez history. There is a parking lot in front and in the back of the hotel both with gates. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I always do.

The hotel staff is excellent. They made sure that our stay was perfect. We were riding our bikes around the island on a 3 days tour. We stayed at the hotel the first night, our bikes were full of dirt because it rain during part of the ride . The hotel staff set an area with a hose in which we could clean the bikes. In addition, provided an area to safely store the bikes overnight for those sleeping in the higher stories.
This is my fourth stay at this hotel and I would not stay at another hotel in Mayagüez.

This was the BEST one night stay we've ever had! Mama and Titi Aida loved it and we slept like babies! The staff was warm, kind, professional and knowledgeable. Danny and Ash gave us a brief tour when we arrived, which was GREAT!. They made it brief because it was very late; we were tired and hungry too, which was quite respectful of them. Grace gave us the full experience tour on Sunday morning which took things to the next level! WOW!!! This place has such a rich history. Loved the architecture and all the restoring that was done with such an attention to detail. To the owners: Excellent work on honoring the past and creating something new for the future. To the Staff: Thank you for upholding all that was and all that the owners have made it to be.
As we were ready to leave, it stormed and we waited for it to stop. The staff allowed us to bring the car around to the back door and Christopher escorted my Mom and Aunt to the car. We had the sweetest conversation with him too, which added to it all! Oh and GO HOUSEKEEPING!!! The place was super clean. Thanks for the great restaurant recommendation, the most yummy coffee and overall incredible experience. We have already shared about the place with friends, as well as family and will continue to. We'll most definitely be back! Best & Bless!

My friend and I were staying at the Hotel Posada Colonial in Mayaguez from July 23 to 26, 2022. This posada offers a unique experience in a former nun convent. You can stay in a room inside the former chapel or in a former nun's private room The experience was excellent. The exquisite service: Thanks to Don Anibal and all the staff. Cleaning and hygiene rules are of quality. The first night we stayed in the Bishop's room, a little noise from the street. The next day they located us in the Boveda! Tremendous experience: large room, no noise, on the 2nd floor. Our stay was 5 stars!

It is the fourth time that I have stayed at the hotel and the attention, cleanliness and cordiality of the employees is always 5 stars 💫.
I recommend it 💯%..
The location of the hotel is very close to many places, businesses, clubs and more hotels.
And a wide variety of restaurants of various prices.
Between economical and other 5 star categories.

Excellent value historical hotel in a colonial part of the city. Parking lot for hotel is across the street. Danny at reception gives a historical tour of the room you are assigned. There are nice restaurants within walking distance behind the hotel and a plaza with people who sit outside socializing at night.

A very pleasant stay. Very helpful staff. They make you feel at home every time.
I play mandolin with Los Cantores de San Juan and every year that we play at Plaza Cristobal Colón in Mayagüez I stay here so I don't have to drive back to Bayamón the same night.

Good morning, we are located in Mayaguez, PR, it is about two and a half hours from the San Juan Airport. Half an hour from the Aguadilla Borinquen airport. If you are taking a cruise the day after arrival, I suggest you stay in Old San Juan, which is 20 minutes away from the San Juan airport. Thanks for your question. Hotel Colonial
Well, beaches are not that far (about 20-40 minutes away), but the problem is traffic from there, and it depends on the time of day. So my advise is--if you are going to the beach--any beach near by--you should leave early enough (around 8am), so you can get there at a good time and enjoy the sun, Another thing is that in that area it usually rains often after 4-5pm...
