This is a cute boutique hotel; clean. I don’t recommend it, especially if you plan to get there at night and are a woman traveling alone: 1. Their parking is not available until you check in, but you can’t find parking anywhere in the neighborhood (which is not a safe area). The cost is $15.00 and it’s two streets across from the hotel and the receptionist has to open the gate from where she, is while looking through the window. I had to call twice (when I got there and left) to ask them to open the gate so I could get out. The parking area is big, feels unsafe, and has no light at night; I had to use my phone’s flashlight. Also, the numbers are not in chronological order, but you must park in the number assigned by the receptionist. In my case, although the lot wasn’t full, she gave me the last number at the far end, but didn’t tell me. It was incredibly frustrating!!! 2. You are charged a $100.00 deposit, which according to the receptionist, I quote her: it is for in case you damage the room. Getting reimbursed can take 5 to 7 days. 3. The mattress was extremely hard. 4. There is a lot of street noise. I will definitely never stay there again.

Liked - The roof terrace was great, we enjoyed it and saw the new year fireworks. The room service was great and came daily to clean, in this time you appreciate it. The room was spacious and had a refrigerator & microwave. You have only aboput 15 minutes walk to the beaches like Playita del Condado or Balneario del Escambrón. There are some restaraunts in the area and a good supermarket Pueblo. The hotel has not enough parking spaces, but you'd definitely find a place on the street nearby. The Miramar neighborhood was quiet. Disliked · As we entered the room we liked the room and couldn't complain. On the next day we started to realise that the carpet floor was copletely wet, as a reason all of our personal belongings and bed sheets were extremely humid. We asked the reception to solve it, they came and sproaded some powder on the floor, which didn't help. We think it has to do with condensation, as the rooms are being cooled constantly and the weather outside is warm. No teapot in the room, but a champangere yes. Dirty windows. The closet is in the bathroom, so you can just imagine what your clothes are getting if someone takes a shower etc. We had a view on the senior residence and directly to the neighbor window in that one grandmother laid on the verge, pretty hard and painful. You couldn't open the windows for an air circulation, which was needed because of the wet floor etc. Sometimes we had no hot water in the shower, sure after ca. 10 pm. Stupid sockets in the room and the bathroom. Slow wi-fi. The 100$ deposit was returned after a week.

Had a very enjoyable overnight stay at this very charming hotel while visiting San Juan ahead of a cruise. The hotel is well situated, with an array of nice restaurants and small supermarkets nearby (ideal for picking up bottles of wine or any last minute or forgotten supplies) and is only a short (6 min / $5) Uber from the Cruise Terminal. The staff are as warm and friendly as they are helpful and accommodating. Our flight got in much earlier than expected and we arrived considerably ahead of the check-in time - we had hoped to have the hotel just stow our baggage while we ran a quick errand but they were happy to check our room was ready and allow us to use it. The room was very clean, well maintained, light, spacious and well appointed , with a sofa, armchair, king bed, table, two chairs. There was plenty of space for luggage, lots of mirrors (great for getting ready without getting in each other's way), a small safe, microwave and a fridge that chilled wine remarkably quickly (which greatly impressed my wife). We had a high floor that offered some lovely ocean views. There was a choice of pillows and we enjoyed a very comfortable night's sleep . I can't imagine a nicer stay and would look forward to staying at the hotel again if visiting San Juan.

Great hotel at a reasonable price. The staff was very friendly, and the coffee shop in the lobby was open five days a week, including Sunday (when many other places are closed). Our room was large and comfortable, with an amazing view of the lagoon and ocean. You can also access a breezy roof terrace for afternoon/evening lounging. The bathrooms were older, but clean and functional. Lots of places within walking distance: restaurants, shops (including a large grocery store), and an excellent art museum (MADMi). We were given the option of daily room cleaning or every other day (we opted for every other day). Highly recommended!

Stayed in the hotel for a week. Clean room and bathroom as well as friendly staff. However no electrical outlets by the bed/no phone charging outlets. Also no coffee in the room or lobby: quite disappointing!

Nice boutique hotel. Stayed one night between cruise and flight home. Front desk staff were super friendly and helpful. Hotel room was larger than most hotel rooms and bathroom was nice. The bed could be a little more comfy but for one night was okay. Location was good and with Uber was less then $10 to get to Old San Juan or cruise terminal, to the airport was around $15. Rooftop terrace was an added bonus. We didn't know about it until we read a review about it. Should definitely promote this more! The pool area was nice and can see the ocean from there. Overall was a nice stay and would stay there again !

Supposedly a reservation I had at another hotel in San Juan for January 2023 was transferred over to the Hotel Miramar because of a system malfunction. I received an email confirmation from the Hotel Miramar giving me my confirmation number. When I called the Hotel Miramar to inquire if the payment for the previous hotel had been moved over to the Hotel Miramar. At this time, I was informed that they could not find my reservation and that they were not responsible for it and that the original hotel I had booked with was responsible. Evidently making a hotel reservation in San Juan does not necessarily mean that you will get a room. This has been an exasperating experience. Be careful when making a reservation at the Hotel Miramar.

Response from Cristina Carradero, Other at Hotel Miramar
Responded Feb 6, 2023
Dear guest, Thank you for letting us address your concerns regarding your reservation experience. Sadly, the reservation you are referring to was not with our hotel and this must be clarified. We find it unfair to receive such an unfortunate review that may be misleading to future guests, when you did not book with Hotel Miramar. These reservations were sent to us from your original hotel to see if we were able to accommodate them. Despite our intentions to help, our hotel did not have room availability and that is as far as our team can go. We encourage you to communicate with the hotel you booked with for further inquires or issues regarding this experience, since we will not be able to give you the answers you may be looking for, as our hotel never had any personal, payment or further booking information. Hopefully, you make a reservation with us for your next visit to San Juan and give Hotel Miramar a chance to provide the great experience we are known for. Kind regards, Cristina Hotel Miramar

Stayed with wife for a meeting at the Puerto Rico Convention Center. Chose it because you can walk to the convention center and there is a parking lot across the street from the hotel where the hotel has a number of reserved slots for hotel guests. The price for overnight parking is reasonable compared to the prices in the area and there is a gate operated by the hotel. There are a number of good restaurants within walking distance and the neighborhood seemed safe. It was clean and the price was also reasonable for the area.
