We have been staying in Olimpo Court for about 20 years every time we visit San Juan, which is about twice a year. The rooms are very simple but clean. No breakfast. No luxury; just a place to sleep. What makes us come back is the location. It is a 10 minute bus ride from Old San Juan and the bus leaves right at the corner for $1.25. You can also walk to El Condado in 15 minutes. From the roof of the hotel you have a spectacular view over half of San Juan. We celebrated New years on that roof. Secure parking lot across the Street for free. 15 Minutes from the airport. Some nice restaurant close by.
If you are looking for a place to sleep, clean, good price, free parking, and close to everything, this is the place. I have been staying in this hotel for the last 2 years everytime that I have to stay in the Metro Area. It is not modern, does not have pool, does not have breakfast included, but is clean, and the free parking is a plus for us. Close to Condado, the Old San Juan, to the Airport, to Isla Verde. There are a lot of good restaurants around. There are 24/7 restaurants walking distance. I recommended to everyone that needs just a place to spend the night.
A group of us stayed here on a trip to visit our office in San Juan. The staff were lovely, but the accommodations are quite Spartan. The doors to the outside balconies are barely secured by a bolt that could easily be kicked through. There are no hair dryers. There is a bit of a moldy, musty smell, but otherwise the rooms appeared clean. The most unfortunate part of this review is that every single member of our group has become ill with respiratory issues--which started about our 3rd day in, and worsened for each of us (from different destinations). This might be related to the moldy smell... or presence of mold, which is typical in hotels near a lagoon. However, if you are at all sensitive to this, please bear it in mind.
Last minute decision lead to a scramble for accommodations which lead to Olympo/Olympio Court; chose the single room. It was cozy (about 365cm2), very clean, with a big split-unit air conditioner. The building is solid concrete construction with tiled or fancy concrete? flooring; walk with your bedroom slippers. The full size bed was very comfortable with clean linen and pillows. The wi-fi worked. There is a refrigerator (about 84 liters) and a microwave. There is an ironing room on the second floor. The retro furnishing is surprisingly comfortable and functional. The lighting was a bit on the dim side in the room, perhaps a function of the island's electricity still below 100% capacity following Hurricane Maria. During the day, the drapes can be opened to let the light in through a large picture window next to another large window that has a latch to open (liked that feature). If you just need a place to sleep in a safe (relatively speaking) neighborhood, without many amenities, this place with its friendly, professional and responsive staff is a good choice. Also there is usually a taxi outside; several good restaurants and cafes, a movie theater, and a supermarket within steps of the hotel. I would recommend this to friends and family seeking basic accommodations in San Juan. The Condado is a few minutes taxi ride; $10-$15. Muchisimas gracias por todo Olympo Court.…
We were recommended this place because we didn't want to spend a fortune for just a couple days. My brother and I stayed in a double bed room and it was clean and comfortable. Supermarket, restaurants and movie theater are all around the corner (walking distance). We came to Puerto Rico for an update of our birth certificate even thou we can do it online but being that we been out of PR for 21 years it was time to come back and visit our birth place. Everything went as plan and really easy. The people are nice and welcoming and we got what we came for within minutes, in the process we also renewed our passport even thou wasn't planned and got it the next day. Luckily the department was not too far from the resort (approx. 10 minutes). Also not too far from Old San Juan if you want to learn more about the history of Puerto Rico. The people at the resort are very friendly especially Jose and I can't remember the other guy's name with glasses (they should wear name tags). Taxis are readily available for your convenience (however sometimes you gotta be looking for them even thou the taxi van is there). We'll definitely be back!…
