The Sheraton in Old San Juan is our favorite place to stay. We have stayed here many times and the staff always goes above and beyond. We live on a small island off the main island of Puerto Rico. We often come to San Juan to shop and get supplies. The staff, especially Gladys always does her best to accommodate us if we need an early check in or late check out. Gladys always remembers us and even asks how are kids are doing. We are already looking forward to our next stay here.

Nothing wrong with this place, just a bit tired and dated. Service was very friendly. In a great location for exploring the Old Town. We had a room that faced inwards onto the (very unpretty) courtyard and it was dark and uninviting. The counter in the bathroom was worn and chipped. My tip would absolutely to pay for a category of room that faced the front - went past some when housekeeping was in and they looked light, airy and altogether more inviting. But overall a decent option if you only have a night or two in town.

I chose Sheraton, Old San Juan, because of the pool and I wanted to have the experience of walking to all the restaurants and historic places. The room was small with a small window that made me feel uncomfortable at first. Lucky that I booked this hotel for 3 nights and another 3 nights at Mariotts Stellaris in Condado on the beach. The roof top pool is not big, but good enough. The location is great, within walking distance to everything. I like “The aroma” restaurant on the ground floor. We saw the cruise ship from our bay view room which was nice. It was a fine stay but not a feeling of a holiday vacation by the beach. Thank you to Gladys, manager, who tried to help us with the room ( per description I thought I got the balcony room). Danni, the front manager including Edgar at the front. This is one of the best hotel if you want to stay in downtown Old San Juan.

Last couple years since the pandemic started we all have seen multiple acts of kindness,  service above and beyond! My personal recent experience wasn't so kind though.....I wish #Marriott bring a huge brand in hospitality will show kindness and value their customers and their wellbeing....I dont want to generalize every Marriott but my recent stay at Sharaton old San Juan in Puerto Rico was a huge disappointment! Me and some of my colleagues were visiting PR for work...I stayed at this hotel and at the end of my stay i discovered that I had Covid... 1. Their onsite room service wasn't available 2. I notified the hotel same day my home test came positive and requested if they would help me get oxymeter and thermometer from Walgreen which is literally next door or deliver my Uber Eats food from reception to outside of my room for which they said they don't provide such services . 3. Hence I had to step out (of course with all precautions and guidelines to the extent i could) to get food and medications occasionally. 4. The staff gave me quite hard time rather than even asking if I was ok or if they could help at all... I wish they were just a bit nicer and made my time less misrable given I had not friends or family on that island :(...I am just happy to be back home now ...Good time for #Marriott to do some Covid and just basic hospitality training....
