This review looks at the Condado Plaza in early October, 2020, in the midst of a pandemic. And the look is not good for travelers. That doesn’t mean the hotel won’t get better, it just has a way to go. The staff is wonderful. They are friendly and helpful. There are just not enough of them to do everything I expect from Hilton. They do a great job of social distancing, checking for the signs of coronavirus and sanitizing the lobby and restaurants. There is hand sanitizer everywhere. And everyone is temperature checked every time they walk on the hotel. Masks must be worn at all times except while eating. However, I found issues in both my room and the gym. There was a thick coat of dust on the shelves of my closet that looked like it hadn’t been dusted in months. The outer door handle on the balcony was covered in some kind of sticky goo. In each case I was able to clean without much effort. But it indicates to me Hilton is not doing as good a job cleaning and sanitizing as it claims to be doing. That balcony door is a high touch area and it was gross. All door handles in every room should be cleaned and sanitized before check in. The gym is limited to three guests at a time, but there is no one there to enforce the mask regulations and I got very uncomfortable when the other two guests both removed their masks. That isn’t Hilton’s fault, but it is a problem. Coronavirus has forced the Condado to shut down virtually every bar and restaurant in the hotel. No restaurant or bar is open in the main tower after 6:00pm. If you want to dine at 7:00pm your only options are Denny’s in the second tower or walk somewhere else. There is no longer water in the rooms. You have to ask for it at the front desk. You also have to ask for daily maid service. Otherwise, they only service rooms every other day. No more bath robes in the room either. There is no bellman and the front desk is closed until 7:00am. There is one security person on duty who must check temperatures and man the front desk at the same time. And if you have perks like complimentary breakfast, it’s no longer complimentary. Instead of a continental breakfast buffet, You get a $10 restaurant credit, which gets you a cheap breakfast, but not free. These are amenities I expect as a Diamond Hilton Honors member and I didn’t get them this trip. I realize we’re in a pandemic and this may be the new normal. But, this review is designed to let you know what you can expect if you visit here. I love the location of this hotel. The ocean view is spectacular. It has a great pool area. And the people could not be nicer. I mean, the staff really goes out of their way to help. I’m not sure if any hotel can provide a better stay during the pandemic. I just did not enjoy my stay this trip.

Hotel's Favorite
We arrived after midnight, check-in was easy and quick. We needed something to eat and there’s a 24 hour Denny’s in one tower. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. The concierge recommendation on a tour we wanted was spot on. She also recommended a restaurant in Old San Juan that was very good and apparently quite popular. The carpets in the hall were a little thread bare but considering what San Juan has been through, acceptable. Some repairs/remodeling was taking place off the lobby but not a problem. We would recommend this hotel and would stay there again without question.

Decent Hotel, most of the staff are nice.... until you are no longer a guest and need help about a charge that I was unaware of. The day that I checked out, no one was at the front desk except the Security , which was the one that gave me a receipt . It was a receipt stating that I parked at the Hotel for three days, which I only had a car for me day and parked in the front for no longer than 30 mins. There was no one to ask about this , so instead , came back to Home base and emailed the manager Helen. She was out of the office and told me to forward my concerns to 2 other people in charge. Sent them both an email. And then NO RESPONSE from either one of them. I then checked my bank statement and the charged me $200. Called the front desk and they said it was for priority parking for a whole week. Ummmm how is that possible I’d I’ve only had the car for a day and parked up from for 30 mins? They want me to email a copy of my Enterprise Rental. Ok that’s fine, but how about a copy of the week parking , and on top of that . How about the 2 day parking I received when I checked out. It’s like , are you assuming 3 days or 7 days. It’s impossible because we checked in on the 18th and had a rental car on the 23rd . Checked out on the 26th, so how could we be charged for a week. Come on Hilton let’s do the math right and the customer service right and your records right. We parked for 30 mins on Wednesday. This is super stressful and annoying. This isn’t the main reason for not recommending this place. All the bars are closed , 2 restaurants, house keeping when asked for, dirty pools with a huge roach on it. Pool area had towels and old pineapples and drinks from the day before. Staff is standing around not even cleaning up. I do not recommend this place unless you want to be disappointed. Only plus thing, is it has a small beach next to the hotel and the hotel is in prime location.

The location is game changing, the view breathtaking the staff increible. The recommendations on the food, the terracer, the pool, I went during covid and I have never been so relaxed in my life. Not too sure if the other bad reviews are mixed up in location, I am a Hilton diamond memeber, my room was in the clouds and paradise.
