We booked this property through booking.com, as it was easily half the price of other properties in the greater San Juan area, to spend some time locally prior to departing on a cruise. This is a low-budget hotel, and expectations should be managed as such. One should not stay here if any of these amenities are important to you: -- in room appliances (coffeemaker/fridge/microwave) -- complimentary toiletries (other than shampoo) -- complimentary breakfast -- extensive concierge services and/or parking -- fancy fixtures and furniture -- elevator/wheelchair accessible accommodations Having said that: if you seek a cozy and clean place to rest your head with wifi and an icemaker, this is definitely a good option. The property itself was built in 1937, hence the lack of elevator service (and abundance of quirky charm). We stayed in the one room on the ground floor – a king sized bed with a terrace towards the back of the property; while there are no stairs to the room, there is a six-inch tile lip to the wide shower, so I would not describe it as wheelchair accessible, despite the wide door to the roomy bathroom. The beds and pillows are very soft – too soft for us, who prefer firm-bordering-on-hard mattresses – but the window a/c unit was powerful and the ceiling fan also helped to keep the room cool during a very hot and humid weekend. The vinyl hardwood floors are great, and while the bath fixtures had seen better days, you could run a hot shower with few problems (although you will notice a change of pressure/temperature when other rooms come ‘on-line’.) It is in the heart of Condado, one block from the beach, and surrounded by a plethora of dining options, US drugstore chains, and an organic grocery store right across the street. The front staff is happy to call you a cab to wherever your travels might take you (in our case, to Old San Juan and the cruise pier), and will provide appropriate towels should you be venturing beach-ward. As this is not a cookie-cutter property, we would not be comfortable applying our opinions to anything but the one room we booked, which we feel is suitable for a long weekend but might be too cozy for a longer stay for two people. Having said that, we enjoyed it enough to put it on our short list should we stay in San Juan in the future.…
staff was great i had early morning flight on a sat and they held my luggage so i could enjoy another day in PR..only complaint..no lift..other than that close to everything you may need including public bus and eateries close to beach walgreens and cvs as well
The room was very small. There’s no parking. The sink in the bathroom was clogged. Customer service was subpar. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Located in the Condado area of San Juan this boutique hotel has everything you could have asked for. Close to shops and restaurants even though you have to walk a couple of blocks to get to the beach I found it to be a lot quieter than the bigger hotels. Best of all, it's very inexpensive for the location. I would definitely return.
Hidden gem, with cozy rooms... I felt like I was staying in a friend's home on the island.. the location is perfect at a quieter end of strip with bars, stores, hotels, restaurants and the beach, all within 5-10 minutes walk
