I traveled for business and stayed at Caribe Hilton. Despite being a landmark in Puerto Rico and having undergone various renovations, the carpet in the rooms could use an update. The hotel lobby is partially open to the outdoors so it's lovely to sit there in the evenings and listen to the coquis. The lobby has a very nice bar area, which is on the "closed" side. The staff was beyond amazing, nice and helpful. The hotel has a few restaurants including a Morton's steak house, Starbucks, Rustica, Lola's, an ice cream shop, but everything closes at 10 or 11 pm. It wasn't useful for me because we would sometimes get back to the hotel from work at midnight. Room service also closes at 10-11 pm you have to check the menu on your room tv set. I did have breakfast at "Mojitos" another restaurant in the hotel and while it was good, it wasn't the best. The beds and pillows were excellent, very comfortable. I only got to see the pool area on our fist day but it's beautiful. They have a kiddie pool too. They have an sanded area with hammocks if you just want to relax and they also have a beach area. They offer yoga, bingo and many other activites just check with the hotel before going. I know there is an outdoor bar but I didn't get a chance to enjoy that. They have a garden with a pagoda that has fish, sharks and swans, very nice area to relax in. You can catch an uber at the sidewalk, they are inexpensive and super fast to arrive. …
My husband and I and 2 adult children spent 5 nights at the Caribe Hilton the first week of August. From our check in until check out, we were very pleased. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful at all times, and we were very impressed with the COVID protocols in place. Some high lights: We completed check in on line and spent only 5 minutes at the front desk when we arrived. Our adjoining rooms were spotless. We had housekeeping come every day and never lacked for towels or other supplies. We ate breakfast every morning at Nectar. The buffet was handled well with all guests required to wear masks and hotel provided gloves. Used plates, utensils, and gloves were cleared immediately. The pool area and beach were high lights for us. We never had problems getting umbrellas or lounge chairs. The swimming area was well kept and clean. We ate at Rustica- excellent Italian food and Mojito- also good but quite expensive. The poolside bar provided excellent drinks. We never had a problem getting a cab to Old San Juan, Condado, or the airport. They were always available and inexpensive. Shops on the property provided anything you could want in the way of souvenirs, snacks, or forgotten items. The staff really made our stay perfect. They worked tirelessly with us when we had problems checking in for our return flights. Questions were answered professionally and courteously. Everyone we encountered seemed happy to see us and be of help. I have to admit that after reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor that I was prepared to be disappointed. But that was not the case for us. We had a wonderful experience! …
The caribe Hilton is our favorite hotel resort. We have traveled here 8 times. I went to the spa this visit and I am a Director of Operations for two spas in Ct. So I am picky! The facility was gorgeous. The sauna, steam room and locker rooms were gorgeous. My therapist was Izhar. He was knowledgeable and confident. I was sore all over and really needed a deep tissue massage. He did a fantastic job. I received the 80 minute massage by Izhar. It was well worth it. I highly recommend the spa. The resort is beautiful. There are some parts that our a little dated but it is neat and clean. Sadly, this is our last day but we will be back soon. Susan & Harry
This hotel is advertised as the birth place of the Pina Colada. We walked 2 miles from Old San Juan in the heat for a pina colada. They would not let us go to the bar for a drink since we were not staying there. They turned away 4 customers! That’s insane!
This hotel is modern with a historic background. Art Deco theme throughout and open air lobby. The rooms were spectacular. It’s obvious they were recently renovated! Our shower did leak water but to be honest it was minor inconvenience. The pool and private beach were great. Excellent food and drinks pool side. I would stay here again but be prepared to spend quite bit of money if you are having dinner at the hotel. You’re better off taking a short Uber ride to Old San Juan for more dining options.
The hospitality at this place is like no other. from speaking to Ms. Toko prior to our arrival, to make sure we was well taken care of. To the housekeepers who left the room spotless, the front office staff with their welcoming faces. The pool/bar so beautiful!. And Breakfast was amazing! can't wait to be back :)
I am a Hilton diamond member and travel a lot . We stayed on this great hotel for my birthday with my wife . The room was big and extremely clean . The beach view is outstanding . We will continue visiting this hotel
Everything about my experience over five nights was excellent. This is my go to hotel for future family stays in San Juan. The staff and facilities were as advertised. The location is close enough to old San Juan for multiple forays into the old city. Great Jump point to other attractions
Our experience wouldn’t have been the same if it weren’t for Hiram, our bartender. Hiram was by far the best bartender we have ever encountered. If you’re ever staying at Caribe Hilton Puerto Rico make sure to ask for Hiram.
Very nice staff. Only problem was our room with a beach view. We were on the third floor with convention center and restaurants on 1st and 2nd floors so your paying for a view of a very ugly roof. The other problem is it’s extremely noisy which was a major problem 2 of 3 nights. You could hear elevator in our room. American Air delayed us 4 hours so got to hotel at 3 AM. Our wake up call was the staff pouring recycling into big bins at 7:45AM
