Detailed Reviews
We stayed in this centrally located San Juan hotel for 3 nights in mid January. I’d contacted the hotel a couple of times before our stay and they were very responsive and helpful. We arrived after midnight, as scheduled, and as informed the 24 hour front desk service was efficient, super helpful, and respectful considering we were exhausted after an 18 hour trip from the UK. The hotel is definitely a boutique style, very pretty, super clean and comfortable and everyone on the front desk was helpful but I must give a special mention to Miguel who went out of his way to offer tour advice, meal recommendations and generally make our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Everywhere is walkable from this location. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was the water pressure in the room was a bit hit and miss, the room was a bit small to walk around with 2 large suitcases around and the breakfast was a little underwhelming. But if I return to San Juan. which I hope I can as it's a beautiful city, I’d 100% stay here again.

We stayed at the Casablanca on the night before our cruise. Right in the heart of old San Juan, it was a great location to branch out from when looking for food or things to do. Staff were helpful with directions and recommendations. We were upgraded to a suite so we had lots of room. Everything was just right. Unfortunately, due to high winds, the rooftop was closed. Due to renovations the elevators were not working, but staff were readily available to help with bags. We did not eat in the hotel, so I cannot comment on their food options. We were able to store our luggage in the morning after check-out so we didn't have to drag it around when we went looking for breakfast. It is close enough to the Carnival cruise terminal to walk with your luggage, but the cobblestone streets make it a bit of a challenge so if you have a lot of heavy luggage, consider spending a few bucks on a taxi.
Note: most cruise lines board at another location in the harbour, so check first before booking the hotel, or plan on a longer taxi ride (the other cruise pier is not in old San Juan).

The hotel is great with lots of ambience. Lobby and little lounge are lovely. Overall, very charming. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooftop is a great amenity and I even spent some time in one of the stone tubs looking out at the view. When it is raining, however the rooftop is not useable. Our room was small and did not have a window, which made it feel a little claustrophobic. Request a room away from the elevator, which can be noisy in the evening. The location is great. If you are driving, ask about the parking at a nearby parkade for a cheaper price. Leave your car for the duration of your stay on old San Juan. You can leave your luggage at the front for early check in - and for late check out. Breakfast is available in the lobby and is very good (prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area).

Location, location, location and friendly customer service is what CasaBlanca Hotel has going for it. We stayed here prior to a cruise for two nights and opted for a queen bed room. The rooms are very small and over furnished, we had a table and chair and another oversized chair in our small room. We ended up having to rearrange the room to accommodate our luggage. The bathrooms are also small but efficient with good waster pressure. Our room adjoined the elevator shaft, so there was constant noise all night long. This is a cute, well run establishment. However, given this is our fourth stay in Old San Juan, it was not worth the price we paid. In hindsight, we should have stayed at a resort out in Condado Beach area, given we paid $400/night due to the festival. I doubt we will stay here again.

We planned to spend five nights in San Juan and wanted a hotel in the heart of the old city so we could walk to everything and just totally relax. Casa Blanca is a well maintained and professionally run establishment of medium size on the main shopping street in old San Juan. Our room on the fifth floor was small but quiet and conformable with a balcony overlooking surrounding buildings which are ugly as sin but there is nothing the hotel could do about that. There is a roof top seating area where the views are better so long as you look at the distance over the surrounding buildings. On our last night our air conditioner stopped working and so it was a bit stuffy and a little noisy with the windows open. The hotel manager compensated us for the inconvenience so we have nothing to complain about and will likely stay there should we decide on a San Juan winter break next year as well.

There are some good things about the hotel. I was in a Standard Queen ie. the smallest sized room, and the bed was comfortable, there was no noise, the A/C and TV worked well, as did the blow dryer, the decoration was fine, but the room could use touch ups in the doors, floor trim etc. which looked banged up. The "closet" was a low book case and on one side there were 3 attached hangers, so a long dress I brought for a wedding was crumpled on the bottom. A fried said they offer clothes steamers, which is nice. The elevator is VERY slow and for those like me that cannot go up stairs carrying weight, be aware that the annex with some suites lacks one. Also, I think this is due to the infrastructural problems after the hurricane, but be aware there is virtually no water pressure or warm water in the shower. There seemed to be a general lack of organization, I was told different things by different people or by the same person. Beware: don't stay here if you have a late flight and want to enjoy the city on your last day. They do not allow late checkout and on the day that I left they did not have room for me to leave it at the hotel. The suggestion was that I go to another hotel to see if they have room! There is a restaurant and bar, which I understood from the website were open all the time but no, of course, they were not. Closed from 2-4. There are plenty of fabulous places to eat in the area. Note that there's a terrace with some nice seating and a view but none of the area has an umbrella or covering so with the frequent showers you can't sit up there and you would need a large hat. There are some bathtubs which I wouldn't use since I don't want to get into a tub that someone else has just used. Probably lounge chairs would be a better use of the space. The hotel appeared to be filled with people staying briefly en route to a cruise, that may not be bothered by things that upset me. Next time, I;ll book an airbnb.

My husband and I decided to give Casablanca a try for 2 nights prior to our cruise out of San Juan. Welcomed by Miguel, who was the ideal hospitality representative! Super friendly, always smiling, and offered help and suggestions easily.
Room was on ground floor, with balconies overlooking the street behind the hotel. Room was clean, but small. The A/C worked great! Small coffee maker In room with endless supply of coffee.
The walls are concrete, so can’t hear through them, but can hear occasional people through door, and can hear street noise at times. Overall, not bad though.
Cold water dispenser in lobby, so we could easily refill water bottles.
Casablanca is in the enter of everything, so this making walking a breeze.
Great experience.

This hotel from the reservation to the stay was above expectations!! The customer service when booking the reservation and then adding additional days, asking for an early check in was completed with no problems at all. Very friendly emails and customer service. Upon arrival we loved the look of the hotel! We spent 4 wonderful nights there and are looking forward to going back next year. We had the superior suite which included a king size bed and an adjoining room with twin beds -perfect for traveling with family. The balcony was an added delight. I am a diabetic and as there was no fridge in the room they kept my insulin in a fridge and I was able to obtain it every morning. Such service and always with a smile. The cleanliness and elevator were added bonuses. This hotel should be rated much much higher that it is! Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

Stayed here for 1 night prior to our cruise out of San Juan. Casablanca is not only the PERFECT location, but was clean, updated, and had friendly/helpful staff. The hotel was unique and I loved that they have a book exchange at the front desk. We did have breakfast at cafe mimosa in the lobby. The food was just ok and the service was slow, but they do have great mimosas (plenty of fresh juice choices for the mimosas and they’re 2/$6!). We only got up to the rooftop the morning before we left, but it seems like a great place to relax and hang out. Sure the rooms are small, but there’s so much to see in old San Juan, we were only there to sleep. My biggest complaint is the light from the air conditioning unit in the room shines very bright at night, which did make it difficult to sleep. A small inconvenience the hotel can hopefully find a solution to! I would not hesitate to stay here again, although next time I would book an inside room as our balcony room did have quite a bit of noise from the street during the night.

We originally was not suppose to stay at this hotel, but Da House overbooked their hotel and moved us to CasaBlanca. The hotel is very up to date and very 1950s Moroccan. The hideaway bar was cute. The rooms are super small and there was a random beeping noise from 4C. The rooftop area was neat, but the tubs take way too long to fill up. We even used to faucets to fill ours up and it still took to long. There was also no late checkout without paying $22, but checkout is at 12, so it’s not too bad. This hotel does however have a great location and is clean, so I’m going to give the a 4/5.

There are restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Not sure where the handmade shopping is located. You can walk to water and there were some vendors selling items. Not sure if homemade or not. Not sure about the beach but you can always get an Uber to the beach. The hotel is located in the heart of Old San Juan as you might be aware aleady.
The minimum check-in age is 18.
Dear Martha,
We do have elevator.
Hello Dacolli03,
Old San Juan is open for tourists, at the moment mask is still required.
No, Old Town is mostly pedestrian. However, the nearest parking garage “Paseo Portuario” a light yellow multilevel parking provides all Hotel guests with a reduced rate if you show your stamped ticket (at our Front Desk) and reservation printout. At your arrival ask our staff for more information.
