Located in the scenic Condado area, the Condado Ocean Club is celebrated for its prime location and vibrant, youthful atmosphere, complete with modern aesthetics. While guests have called out the clean, spacious rooms with impressive views, some have experienced issues with temperature control and delayed housekeeping.
The hotel's amenities, including beautiful views and beach access, are popular, despite the occasional crowded pool and rocky swimming conditions. Opinions on service and value vary, with some travelers praising the staff's friendliness, while others find the costs steep for the offered experience.

Hotel's Favorite
I was greatly impressed with The Condado Ocean Club Hotel in so many ways. First off, The staff was amazing!! They were friendly, professional, helpful and extremely accommodating.
The hotel itself was extremely clean and comfortable. Our room had an amazing Ocean view from the 7th floor, though we were not lucky enough to have one of the 3 elusive patio rooms
You must get to the pool fairly early to claim one of the coveted poolside lounge chairs but you do have a better chance with a beach lounger if you strike out at the pool.
I could not have asked for a better location for a hotel to be. Located on Ashford Ave., a busy strip encompassing many restaurants, bars, shops and casinos, The Condado Ocean Beach Club Hotel puts you in the middle of this action, as well as only minutes away from Old San Juan and District de T-Mobile and other nearby areas.
I would return to The Condado Ocean Beach Club Hotel in a second as it provided us a great experience at a very reasonable cost.

We booked an ocean view, 2-queen size bed for 3 of us and our room was an end unit on the 4th floor opposite of the pool. It was quiet, clean, spacious and the view was amazing to wake up to each morning. The services all around from housekeeping to bar and restaurant were excellent. The pool can become crowded during high season and they definitely do not have enough pool chairs for all. Due to location, sun is blocked at poolside by 2 pm. The drinks and food were great. The only complaint I had was the bed which is on the softer side (I prefer on the firm side) and the rain shower which had very little pressure. Other than that, it was perfect place as I prefer to stay in a boutique style hotel. There is a small beach area to sun bath; the water was a bit rough in the winter on this side but in a short walk either direction, there is a lagoon area or the Condado Beach Park. Location is great to walk along Ashford Avenue for shops and restaurants. If you're an avid walker, you can walk to Old San Juan - maybe 50 mins or so or Uber is readily available.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
The hotel was nice, but lacked some practical details. The interior designers seemed to lack any understanding of what makes a hotel room good. Terrible lighting made it difficult to read in the room at night. Could have used a piece of furniture for clothing. The only place to put clothes was on a few hangers and 2 drawers under a safe in the closet. A huge piece of furniture housed a mini-bar. It was taped shut, and we never opened it for fear that we would be charged exorbitant prices for the items. Ice machines were not conveniently located. Silly, useless, foo foo vases, porcelain pots with covers holding nothing were scattered around. No place to set toiletries in bathroom. One nice thing was loads of mirrors, including full height. The staff was good and it was very clean. A huge negative was that our door lock broke leaving the room unlock-able. It first happened on our way out to a restaurant where we were meeting people and we had to leave the room unlocked. They had to fix this twice, and never updated us on when it would be fixed etc. Should have offered a complimentary drink or something. Also, had to turn air-conditioner to low as it was too noisy to sleep otherwise.

Stayed ~6 days at the Serafina Hotel in Dec 2019. Overall, the hotel is very nice (eg, modern, clean), but I’m not sure I would go back. The main reason for this is that for the price there were A LOT of annoyances, and things that were not up to standards, especially considering the price.
Here’s the issues we had:
1. Housekeeping. Every day there were issues with the housekeeping for the room. Towels not replaced; bath robes missing; cups & creamer not replaced. Also, the TV in our room was not working.
2. Pool deck. It seems the pool deck security guard is happy to be paid off by non-hotel guests for access to the deck & pool, which left no chairs and towels for the hotel guests. This was incredibly annoying. On the days that I didn’t see outside people on the deck/pool, people would come down from their rooms early in the morning & reserve chairs/towels for hours without using them (I presume they went back to their rooms to sleep), which left very few chairs/towels for others.
3. KIDS. I thought the hotel was advertised as adults only, but this was not the case. Thankfully it was not overrun with children, but there were definitely kids there during our stay.
4. New Year’s Eve Party. This was the major disappointment and could be the main reason why I will never go to the Serafina Hotel again - they had different “tiers” for party access, a free tier for hotel guests (called “Lavendar”), as well various upgrades one could buy to have access to more food & open bar. At the Lavender party we were promised “heavy” hors d’ouevres and dancing/music. The party was completely dead, they had purposely separated the different tiers into different levels of the hotel, which was crazy. Could wrist bands not have been enough so everyone could mingle? The appetizers were a joke & far from “heavy”, and were very infrequent. At their DEAD party they must have had 10 different staff members circulating around making sure the attendees didn’t stray from their designated “caste” system. For example, us “Lavender peasants” could not sit on any of the empty chairs or sofas on the pool deck because $1000 of liquor had to be purchased to sit there (the $3000 hotel cost wasn’t enough?!). This was very frustrating and felt degrading.
Ironically, with the 10 staff members with eagle
eyes hovering around making sure no one sat where they shouldn’t no one realized until 5 seconds before midnight that the DJ didn’t do the countdown, and started that after 12am.

Dear jdh-nyc-2020, Thank you for your candid review. I truly regret having to read of your impression of the visit after you’ve departed, rather than while you were here; when we could have readily addressed some of your discomfort and rectified on the spot. I am sorry to hear, however, of the shortcomings you experienced with housekeeping, Pool Deck and our main event on NYE, and I apologize that you did not have memorable experience. Absolutely, no excuse on that. I will personally ensure that your valuable feedback is shared with our team internally. Should you wish to discuss further, please reach out to me; I do hope you will come visit us again in the future and make things different. Best regards, Juan Castro reservations@serafinabeachhotel.com

The room service was AMAZING. We had the same person, Ivòn, the entire time. Any time we left and put the “away” sign up, they would come in an tidy everything up, even cable managing our phone chargers and such. So simple but such a nice touch away from home. The “lagoon” view from the lower levels isn’t great, not necessarily worth the value on a lower floor, but the ocean views from the pool are fantastic.

We had a very disappointing 2 night stay here. Although many of the staff were awesome it’s clear the the GM is not doing his job. Before I posted this review I reached out to the GM to see how they respond. I emailed GM Albert Charbonneau about several issues relating to our stay. His response was to blame his staff and a broken washing machine without taking any responsibility or even trying to do anything to make it up to us. We found the staff, Juan Castro (pre arrival was awesome communicator and very helpful), Gabriel and Liza and the young women in the restaurant for breakfast, incredibly kind and as helpful as they could be. Here is part of the letter I sent to the GM:
"We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by Gabriel and another young man who were helpful and kind and checked us in without issue. When we walked to the room we noticed some dishes in the hallway by the elevator but thought oh someone will come by and pick them up. They were still there when we checked out on Thursday.
The following morning we arrived downstairs at 7:45 to have breakfast. There was no staff at desk or at the restaurant. There was no signage, just two other guests sitting outside at tables without any help in site. I went around to the front to find one young kind woman working to make several coffees and after she finished with them I found out she was the barista and the waiter. She worked so hard to help three tables and make all the hot beverages and serve the food with a smile, but she needed help. The breakfast was not good. My yogurt and granola served in a plastic container like I would get at Starbucks and my husbands eggs and potatoes looked like an airplane meal.
Wednesday around 1 or 2pm I stopped by the pool to pick up a towel to take to the beach and the bartender told me they were out of towels but had a small bath towel to offer which I took, and assured me more were on the way. When my husband finally finished his work day I once again went to the bar to ask for the towels and the bartender told me not only were there no beach towels there were no towels at all. When I posed the question “So what should I do” he answered “I don’t know I’m only the bartender.” When I spoke to Liza at the front desk she was very apologetic and kind but also had no towels and could offer no help. We went to the beach with my wet bath towel for the two of us (you have to walk down the street 5 mins to a public beach in order to swim. Their beach is beautiful but too rocky! I had also put my room towels out for replacement (as instructed) that morning and now we had no towels in the room either. When we returned from the beach a few hours later, still no towels. I received two hand towels for our evening shower."
The following morning the breakfast looked better but again only one hardworking young woman serving and manning the coffee bar and room service.
Mr. Charbonneau's reply was, as I said, not helpful at all. No ownership of his responsibility as the GM and I would never ever recommend this hotel until they are under new management.

I stayed at Serafina for one night and had a lovely time! The pool and pool deck views were stunning 😍 The location was also convenient to walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. I arrived the day of the earthquake and although the island was without power, you would never know being inside Serafina, since the generator allows for everything to be fully functional. The staff was friendly and efficient as well. I can't wait to come back! Gracias.

Dear Megan D, Thank you for your review. The island did feel several after-shocks over this last week, which experts say is normal after any earthquake. The San Juan area where we are located felt a few of them, most ranked in the 3 - 5 range on the scale, but were very brief, and caused no damage in our areas. We are prepared! Please let me know when you are returning so we can make sure you receive the VIP welcome back! My best, Juan C.

Everyone i came into contact with at the hotel were extremely nice and tried their best to be friendly and helpful. It was definitely appreciated. However, the hotel could definitely use better housecleaning. There was makeup from a previous guest on the pillows and on the bathroom countertops and door. We found broken glass on the floor that we almost stepped on, but luckily we always keep our shoes on. There was hair in the shower and stuck to the carpet. Our closet smelled like mildew. The mini fridge barely worked to keep anything even slightly cool. It was also weird that there was no type of hand soap on the bathroom. They have shower gel and shampoos bolted to the shower stall, so any time I wanted to wash my hands, I had to go to the shower to use the shower gel. It was weird.
It was definitely an interesting experience staying at this hotel, but I dont think I would stay here again.

The hotel is in a good location. Small pool, nice view. The beach has sand but there are a lot of rocks so don't expect to getting the water. Front desk people very nice. I was there to visit an old friend and he and his girlfriend stay there as well. We booked a lagoon view room and when I got there was offered an upgrade for an extra $80 dollars a day for an ocean balcony room which I took. This was done around 12PM and that the room would be ready by check in. We went to old san juan and came back at 445 and was told it would be another 30 minutes before the room was ready. I told them that this was not acceptable as i had a diner meeting at 530 and needed to get ready. I asked to talk to the manger, dont recall her name but slender young lady, and I was told very rudely that there was nothing she could do and basically told to wait or take back my original room, which I did. This woman has no peoples skills and no idea of costumer service.
Bar at the restaurant was great. Jose the bar tender is great and made good drinks. We had drinks there before and after going out every day and the food was good.
Staff at the restaurant for breakfast slow and could care less about serving you. I would go to a nearby by place for breakfast and safe yourself some grief.
So overall i would not stay here again. Not worth the money for the service received.
Do yourself a favor if you are in this budget range and stay next door at the Vanderbilt; that's what i am doing for my next trip in 2 wks.

I give it a poor rating overall, because I expected a lot more for the price and the fact that it is an adults-only hotel. The only good thing about the hotel was the view from my bed, for which I paid more than $ 200 per night, otherwise my stay would have been terrible.
due to lack of time I am only going to list the worst things not to say that everything was bad.
1. There was no continuous cleaning in my room, which I understand from the new hotel policies, but the room is supposed to be refreshed daily, NO ONE picked up the garbage from the room or made my bed during my entire stay, if I wanted to make my own bed would have rented a VRBO
2. The music at the pool was directed at an audience that cannot afford the hotel prices, and it did not have any variety. When we asked to change the music for other rhythms, the answer was NOT the hotel's policy and if you want to listen to something different, you have to wait until Sunday, the day the hotel hires a DJ to play music, but there was no difference. the music was too loud and again aimed at teenagers
3. The service in the pool was terrible, because I was not consuming bottles of liquor, none of the employees asked if I wanted another beer or not, so I myself had to walk to the bar
4. The umbrellas in the pool area were reserved for the public that consumed bottles of liquor, when we asked for an umbrella the answer was NO
5. The hotel does not have a taxi service, if you need one you will have to walk to another hotel to get it
It is my 5th time in Puerto Rico and I have never had such poor experiences in any hotel.

Room rates are always subject to a daily 18% hotel tariff and 9% occupancy tax. These charges cover local taxes as well as access to hotel amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, pool and beach access, and more.
No kids. Except if something changed on the last 3 months.
Not that I know of, but there are kayaking excursions that are in walking distance (not the biobay though).
Not at all. Very rocky with huge boulders and a dangerous riptide that we were warned not to venture into the ocean in Condado because of this. If you want a swimmable beach, find a hotel or resort that is NOT in Condado.
Thank you for your message.
