Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort & Spa garners high marks for its attentive service and friendly staff, creating a memorable experience for many guests. Opinions on value are split, with some appreciating the affordability and others feeling the luxury falls short. The hotel's amenities, including diverse dining choices, pools, and water sports, are frequently commended.
While the vibrant atmosphere is a hit, with lively entertainment, noise can be an issue for some. The resort's picturesque location is generally celebrated, though room allocation sometimes disappoints. Cleanliness is a strong point, yet room quality varies, with some needing updates and repairs.

Hotel's Favorite
This was our 4th time at Jewel. Please read my previous reviews.
Again, we used Reggae Island Tours/Tomeik Christie. Great friend, great guy, great driver. There's no one else we'll use!!! Find him on FB!!!
As a repeat guest, we felt a change on this trip, mainly due to the GM, Miss Barbara Burton being absent....she was on "vacation". During the week, we.... as well as other repeat guests, heard rumblings of a possible takeover. While I don't know if that's true, we did see some new ( temporary??? ) management, and the feel during this trip was different.
This trip was also different due to the water ( NOT Jewel's fault ). The waves were way too choppy that we couldn't do any of the water sports. Normally, water sports are a highlight for us. That said, we still managed to have a great time.
We met 2 other couples there, couples we met on previous Jewel trips. And we made the most of the week. How cool is it that we met couples here.....and planned this trip to vacation together again!!!
Bellhop/Concierge....Donovan was great!! He checked in with us all week to ensure our vacation was going well or to enquire about anything we may have needed.
Check-in was smooth. We were greeted warmly and welcomed home. All the ladies at the front desk were hospitable during the week.
Our room was oceanfront and could not have been better! The room was cleaned daily by a stand-out Jewel employee.....Cathy Lee. She was such a sweetheart.....personable, and engaging, and added a few touches that made the room feel special. She was so good, that I made it a point to give her a shout-out at the front desk! TJ, the fridge attendant, also catered to a request which was appreciated. He made it a point to check in to see how our vacation was going. We enjoyed chatting with him. Great guy!!
The food as usual was great. Honestly....if you can't find something good here, that's on you. True, we didn't enjoy everything.....but we never went hungry either. Chef Fredrick.....you know we love you from way back!! Keep up the good work! Fitzroy who is in charge of service is also a standout!! He remembered us from past trips ( as did many of the staff ), checked in, and took the time to chat. Moonstone and Platnium were yummy and at Jade, we were entertained by Geetha! While I'm allergic to eggs, hubby had his daily omelet made by none other than Merric, who remembered to make them extra spicy!!
I can't remember her name but a hostess at the Coral Cafe needs to be mentioned. As always on vacation, I lost my voice. She went out of her way to get me tea, honey, and lime juice. My voice came back the next morning. We found all the staff at the buffet to be very pleasant.
The grounds are, as always, stunning. One of the reasons we keep coming back. It's def. NOT a concrete jungle here. Donovan and his team are wonderful at what they do. We did a nature walk with Donovan again, which we enjoyed so much. His knowledge and passion are evident and we are always grateful for the time with him. Thanks for the coconut, Donovan!!
The entertainment team was fantastic. Damario, Jhavol, Rasheeda, Britnee, and the head of entertainment, Milton.... all did a great job, esp. considering water sports weren't an option. They kept guests happy!! Hey Britnee.....next time, we're doing Karaoke. I promise I won't chicken out!!
I hate to exercise.....esp. on vacation but Oran and his water aerobics is actually fun!!
The nightly entertainment was great. As usual, The Silver Birds Steel Drum Band was the highlight of my week. This trip, Jewel had a new singer, who to me, was THE BEST EVER!!! Tenshon Tenshon! I enjoyed his singing so much...he should become a regular to Jewel! I also need to say......The music I love was played on this trip. Thanks for the dancehall, guys! I can't forget to mention the silent headphone party....what a great time.
The Jewel cats looked healthy, and well-fed and were the friendliest we've seen them. It's noticed and appreciated by us repeat guests!!
Nickera at the Irei Cafe was a joy every morning. She remembered our coffee orders. One morning, hubby slept in and she inquired where he was. She makes great coffee and is another standout.
Whitney deserves her own paragraph. Everyone mentions her and how great she is! Whitney......even though you photo-bombed us, we still love you, girl. After all, you are Sam's Jamaican girlfriend. Wink wink!
Security....as usual...top notch! Always friendly and looking out!!
One issue....and I did bring it to the front desk......The smoking area beside the grill!!! IT NEEDS TO BE MARKED!! A few times, we went for a smoke. Guests would be sitting there eating, then get nasty because we were smoking. IT'S A SMOKING AREA!!!! Not an eating area! I'd point that out and they'd argue. I try to be a considerate smoker and smoke in the designated areas and I should not be attacked for smoking there. Signs would help!!
Now for the best part....for us anyway. THE BAR STAFF!!!! We hang out either at the Sunken Treasure bar or the Sunset bar.
These bartenders are not just staff to us, they are family! Ryan, Marlon, Ojaci, Alvin, Andre, Teka, Sheffan, Shaunesse, and my girl.......Sherene!!! Sherene not only makes a killer Bob Marley shot, but she is also one of the sweetest people there! Last but not least......Donovan the head bartender!! He made our trip!! So attentive, so sweet, and so good at his job. Honestly, words fail to convey how much he means to us!
Jewel IS HOME to us. It's our escape. Our happy place. Would we go back? ONLY if Barbara Burton remains GM!!!!
Thank you Jewel for another fantastic week!!!

Jewel Paradise Cove gives you about 90% of what you get from places like Sandals and Couples for 50% of the price. We will definitely be back. The resort is small, quiet and secluded, which makes it perfect for a short stay, although I don't think that I would want to stay for more than a week. The best part of the resort is the staff: all were extremely friendly, helpful and genuine. The food was consistently good (although not amazing) and reasonably varied. The grounds were well maintained and the entire resort was spotlessly clean
We stayed in a Butler Suite which is more like the concierge service at Sandals. This was fine for us as I have found the Sandals butlers to be annoyingly intrusive and, again, worth what you pay for a larger room in a better location.

This was my first all inclusive vacation outside of a Sandals resort so I was unsure of what to expect. It was also my 5th trip back to Jamaica and I always have a great time. I find the people here to be very friendly. The grounds were well maintained and there were some very beautiful views by the water, especially at sunset. Definitely grab a drink at the sunset bar and relax. There were three swim up pool bars each with a different atmosphere. The main pool had a huge slide that was enjoyable. There was a second pool in the center of the resort, Emerald Lagoon where most of the activities took place. The bar itself is under a large deck and is a great spot to hang if it is raining. The third swim up bar was the Aquamarina bar in the back of the resort. This was the smallest and more on the quiet side if that is what you are looking for. This pool had the best view of the water and there was also a nice hot tub attached. There weren't as many food choices as a Sandals and I found the food to be average. Platinum was our least favorite and we ended up grabbing some Italian food at Moonstone after our meal at Platinum. The hibachi style food at Jade Samurai was our favorite. During the daytime hours the Moonstone restaurant is called Court Jesters and they make a fantastic personal pizza. There was also a little shack type place to the left of the beach where I had some delicious jerk chicken. The Coral Cafe by the main pool is where we had most of our breakfast and lunches. Some days were good and some were average. We took a small Hobie Cat ride out pretty far and had a great time. The water was beautiful. To sum it up I thought it was a good value, room was nice, AC worked amazing, beautiful views with a nice selection of alcohol. If the food was better I would have given 5 stars.

Originally we had a week booked at jewel Dunn’s River, but due to that being sold to Sandals, we were transferred to Paradise Cove with a room upgrade. The covid protocols onsite were great, with all employees wearing masks, cleaning and sanitizing and making sure we were doing the same, although not in a pushy way.
Upon arrival we were treated with a warm welcome and quick check in, however we weren’t given a welcome drink like we’ve received at most other AI resorts I’ve visited. Not the end of the world because it didn’t take long for us to check in and be escorted to our room. We stayed in a ocean front concierge room and while it wasn’t the nicest room I’ve stayed in, it was fine and the view was beautiful.
Due to the whole covid fiasco, the resort was operating well below their normal occupancy, which caused a lot of the resort to be closed or limited. The pizza place was only open once during our stay but it was delicious. Platinum was open twice although one of the times they were operating out of the buffet with a limited menu. Moonstone Italian restaurant was open the most and thank god we got a reservation for the hibachi upon arrival because that was closed a good chunk of the week as well. The jerk chicken but was closed our whole stay but they were serving the jerk chicken and pork at the grill, which was open until 2am and offered take our or room service as well. The sunset bar above the moonstone was never open and neither was the pool bar at the emerald lagoon pool. The club and piano bar never opened once during our stay but they did have a dj every night at the main pool bar.
Coming into the trip I did my research and was expecting things to be operating on a limited schedule, but it would’ve been nice to get a schedule of what was open and closed upon arrival so we could have planned better.
All in all it was a very relaxing vacation and the staff went above and beyond. They remembered our names which made us feel right at home. I wash I could remember all their names but there were so many exceptional employees, so I will name a few. Marlon, Ron J, Antonette, Harlon, Shavon are just a fraction of the people we we had the pleasure of meeting. I wish I could remember the woman bartender who was pregnants name as well. She was amazing and her and my wife hit it off instantly!
The beach was so so but the water was beautiful and they kept in spotless. We would prob look elsewhere for our next trip but loved our stay here in paradise

If you are a first time traveler to Jamaica or an all inclusive resort, Jewel will be pretty good. If you have done all inclusive before or have been to nice resorts, you will not like Jewel. Positive notes are all the tables in the pools, friendly staff, many bathrooms around the resort, jerk chicken shack was fabulous, and the life guards at the smaller beach did a wonderful job keeping the sand off of the chairs/raking the beach/cleaning up seaweed. Drawbacks: too many large tables in the buffet (we were sat at a large table a few times and were told people may be joining us), food at the buffet was not good at all, low end alcohol, nightly entertainment in the buffet area was pretty poor, the guy playing the piano at the piano bar hates his job (he told us before he started that he would stop playing if anyone was talking and said he doesn't know the words to all the songs in the book so it would be up to the audience to sing, not him), the main beach is pretty small and pretty rocky, and there is a charge of $5 to have room service. We were very upset about that silly charge so we didn't get room service just out of spite. As mentioned, if you have never been to an all inclusive resort, this will work but for experienced travelers, I would suggest elsewhere.

The staff at Paradise Cove was so welcoming and hospitable. My wife was teaching yoga there that week and the studio had all the essentials for teaching yoga classes. Oran and Oshane made our experience wonderful as we set classes up at the spa. Couples massage and spa was great with Sarah and Antonette and the steam room was a game changer. Coral Cafe service with the waitstaff was great with Ramone and Nezema by the poolside. Platinum high end dinner was great with Chavon serving us and his really good Jamaican dry humor as we talked about soccer. Tshane was the comedian of the evening and always cracked good jokes at the Hinachi and Sushi bar. The activity water sports team with Javasco, Carlos, and Holland were always at the ready to get you on the water and glass boat tour. They made the time fun and safe. We always had a nicely cleaned room with our maid, of which we forgot her name- room 815- where she was always happy and cheerful. Thanks for the experience Jewel Paradise Cove! Chris and Laurie

My 10 friends and I (mostly couples ~24 and 25 years old) stayed at Jewel from February 28 - March 5 and loved our experience. There weren't many people there due to Covid so we probably made up a third of the guests. The staff was unbelievably great in every way and would consistently ask us if we needed anything else.
They were extremely safe about Covid, providing unopened toiletries and remotes in the room, sanitizing hands when handling equipment, and requiring masks in public areas, which was just the right amount to still feel like we're on vacation but Covid safe. The night club and a few of the hotel restaurants were also closed. One negative was that the wifi was very spotty throughout the hotel. The drinks were all really good and the food was decent, but better than expected for a cheap all inclusive resort. They also had an optional $30 lobster dinner that we were hesitant about getting, but it ended up being some of the best lobster we've had. A few of us also visited the Luminous Lagoon through the hotel which was a great experience (water lights up as you swim through it). Overall would definitely come back.

A few of us also visited the Luminous Lagoon through the hotel which was a great experience (water lights up as you swim through it). Overall would definitely come back.

We led a group of 30 people to Jewel Paradise Cove for 4 nights. Firstly, the safety measures that Jewel Paradise Cove is taking to prevent the spread of COVID are much appreciated and extensive. Pads to clean shoes, mask wearing and hand sanitizer are the start. Individually packaged condiments and flatware to sealed rooms and house cleaning on request to minimize people in your room.
It is clear that the staff here is very pleased to have tourists again. We have been greeted with cheerfulness and enthusiasm. They all have gone well out of the way to make sure that we are having a wonderful time.
The resort itself is quaint and represents Jamaican luxury - more British Colonial decor than anything modern. This is a more moderate option as it relates to luxury and I could see some upgrades being helpful in the future but that doesn't distract from my stay in the least. Well done to the staff at Jewel Paradise Cove - clearly the heart of this property.

After many years of visiting the Jewel Dunn’s River resort, we decided we would try Paradise Cove. JDR was our all time favorite, so we went with an open mind. Check in was a breeze and although we arrived early they were able to give us a room that was ready. There are no elevators so be aware If you are on a upper floor. The hotel takes COVID seriously (except the bar area at night) and follows a lot of precautions. The door to the room was sealed with tape showing it was disinfected prior to our entering. If you are interested in taking the glass bottom boat trip(free) make an appointment at check in to guarantee you’ll get a spot. Do the same with reservations for dinner. Room was basic and there was a slight mold smell. The balconies are smaller than we’re used to, but we didn’t spend a lot of time on it. The grounds are immaculate and beautiful. The food was good for an all inclusive and there were plenty of choices. The pools were clean and not at all crowded. I would have liked the water a littler cooler. At times it was so warm it wasn’t refreshing. The beach area is nice and there was never an issue getting a lounger there or at the pool. The staff was pleasant but not overly friendly. At times they seemed a bit under staffed but it didn’t affect the service as long as your not in a rush. All in all it was a good vacation at a nice resort. I think we’re just spoiled and used to the JDR, which is now under construction and will be opening as a Sandals.

We just got back from staying at this very nice resort in Runaway Bay, a little over an hour from the MB airport. I will start with the transport to the resort by Jamaica Getaway Travels. Awesome driver Kevin was a pleasure to have drive us with information and a safe travel experience. We were greeted at the entrance to the resort and were told we needed to wear masks while walking around and to use the sanitizing cleaner for our hands. Our room wasn't quite ready yet so decided to eat lunch at the buffet which was good. I think everyone of the staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasent but of course a few stand out! How about Nicole with my friend's chocolate maritini waiting for her after dinner every nite. Or the bartenders Marlon, Tamique and Donovan every night greeted us with a smile! For breakfast we had the talented Merrik making our omelets, Kadierdra and Samanda serving us with a smile. The lifeguard that made a homemade remedy for my bug bites and the other that took us out on the glass bottom boat. And of course our butlers Twaine and the ever smiling Christa! Thank you ALL for making our trip so much nicer. The weather was great as it was party cloudy and we could sit on the beach all day. Our chairs were set up with flowers and a cooler full of water and beer. Service at the bars started at 10am, you must try the Hummingbird! YUM. The pools were kept spotless and a very cool surprise, the slide for grownups! So much fun and was open every day.
