The cove is like swimming in an aquarium. There is fish everywhere and be sure to bring your snorkel gear because snorkeling right in the resort is pretty good. We went out in the glass, bottom boat and snorkeling. This is a great thing that they have to offer. The food is absolutely amazing. I really like the size of the resort as you’re not walking 5 miles a day to get back-and-forth from your room. The staff is absolutely amazing and they take great care of you. You’re 20 to 30 minutes away from all the great attractions that most people want to take in when they come to Jamaica. I would say the rooms are average, but I’m never in my room anyways. This is a lovely resort.
If you want a resort that feels like home, with staff that treats you like family, this is the place. We went June 19-26 and were there for our 10-year anniversary. This was our 6 visit to Jamaica and our former home away from home was Jewel Runaway Bay, before Beaches bought it. Let's start with our private airport transfer. We used Reggae Island Tours, a new company and the service provided by Tomeik was second to none. Prompt, friendly, and professional....we HIGHLY recommend him and help his business grow. Upon arrival at the resort, we knew we found our new home. We had an ocean view room and the room was always clean, the a/c worked great and the bed was comfortable. During the day, we got involved in all the resort has to offer....pool trivia, aqua aerobics, booze cruise, snorkeling, Hobie Cat boat ride, paddle boarding, kayaking, tie-dyeing t-shirts, or just hanging out in the pool, enjoying drinks with new friends. We enjoyed all the evening entertainment as well, esp. seeing The Silver Birds Steel Drum Band and the Friday night beach party. The Food....Hubby ate at the jerk stand every day for lunch....best he ever had, he said! While the buffet is a bit limited, I understand why ( pandemic ) and I always found something to enjoy. We ate at Platnum and Moonstone each once and the service and food were absolutely spot on!! We are drinkers and I got to say, the drinks here are NOT watered down and all were great. While hubby usually sticks to Emerald Greens and I...mimosas, I did try other cocktails and all were yummy!! The pools were great, we mostly hung out in the main pool but the others were just as good. While the beaches ( the main beach and the small snorkeling beach ) were man-made and just o.k., we enjoyed them and never had any problems finding loungers. I really loved the grounds at this resort. So green and lush and well cared for. We did a nature walk one morning and our guide Donavan was very informative and you could really feel he cares about what he does. We did try the piano bar but found it a little too mellow for us but from what we saw, it was great and I did manage to drag hubby to Bling where I could dance and let loose. Now for the best part......THE STAFF!!! When I say you are treated like family, I mean it. First of all, several staff members remembered us from JRB, from 3 years ago. Every single staff member was friendly, welcoming, polite, and engaging.....I wish I had better words to convey how wonderful they were. As I usually do on vacation, I lost my voice and was made a special concoction that restored my voice the next day. We had a few guys who, knowing how special JRB is to our family ( our little boy passed away and some of his ashes are there ), they brought us as close as we could to that resort.......it meant the world to us to "visit" him and the resort that we loved so much!! If you want a fancy, bougie, big resort, look elsewhere. But if you want a homey, friendly, laidback resort with wonderful people, this is it!! We loved it so much, we are going back in December and can not wait!!…
I love that they greet you with a rum punch yummy! The chef Fredrick was amazing I asked for ox tails and the next day he had them for me!! They were outstanding. And my sever Urishina was both delightful and very helpful. Her smile is infectious. The only problem I encountered was my first night there I found sand in my bed. But it was resolved quickly. I will stay again
This was our first ever vacation together in 23 years. We chose Jewel Paradise Cove for it's size, amenities, reviews, and because it was adults only. I did so much research that I felt very confident this was just the place we were looking for. Boy, was I ever right! To start, we booked an Oceanfront Butler Suite. We figured if this was the only vacation we were ever able to go on, we would go all out! Raymond, Imran and Twayne were beyond amazing. As someone who is always doing for others, I struggled to call them for things. They always found us, though. They booked reservations for us and seated us at our table, checked on us frequently, brought us drinks wherever we were, dropped off a daily snack plate in our room, reserved chairs by the pool, and made us feel so at ease our entire visit. They even teased me from time to time. They were great to joke around with. Our room was wonderful. It was large, clean and had a big tub in the bathroom. I was concerned that the bed would be too hard for us to sleep on as we are used to a soft pillow top. We slept wonderfully, without a mattress topper. I'm not sure if it was because we were so tired from the day or if it really was comfortable. We asked for extra pillows and a blanket and they made it happen. Housekeeping was wonderful! Always greeted us with a smile, she was sad to see us go. One night our a/c went to 26 degrees and wouldn't change. Maintenance came and realized that our remote was not working so they brought a new one and all was cool again. Our fridge was filled with more than enough pop, water, juice and beer. Our room, 639, had a great view of the little cove beach and was far enough away that we feel asleep to the sounds of the ocean and the tree frogs. The grounds were beautiful, so well kept. Banana, avocado and palm trees, flowers, so many birds to see, geckos, tiny little hummingbirds, crabs and cats. Alice, one of the grey cats is so sweet. There are hammocks to relax on, covered seating areas and beach chairs at every pool and beach. The downfall there is when people leave their towels on the chairs for the day to reserve them, but never sit there. Whitney, the lifeguard, was the sweetest. We spent quite a bit of time just chatting with her. The beaches were clean and seaweed was removed daily. It was fun to watch so many fish swim in the water around us. We didn't get a chance to snorkel between busy days and some rainy weather. The pools were always clean, the hot tub by the water slide is secluded and super hot. We had it all to ourselves one afternoon. We found the waterslide to be lots of fun and super fast. There is a waiver to sign and a lifeguard on duty. He makes sure everyone is being safe at all times. Food was fabulous! We ate at each restaurant at least once(at the Jade Samurai twice) and the buffet daily. Dining Under the Stars was delicious and the musical entertainment was great. We had no idea that it was happening, so we were pleasantly surprised. My husband enjoyed bacon, sausage, pancakes and French toast just about every morning, with pineapple juice. We had the best fried chicken ever at the buffet for lunch. Pretty sure I'll be dreaming about that chicken for a long time! The buffet always had plenty of options! We never went hungry and wanted for nothing. I tried lamb for the first time at Moonstone and was impressed(after I got over the baby sheep guilt). My advice, try everything! The Sunset Bar was our favorite! The views were amazing and the music was great. Sometimes it was a little crowded but that was okay. We did a lot of walking around and exploring, drinks in hand. We had a Couples Massage at the spa. It was fabulous! I felt so relaxed afterwards. It was a great thing to do together. The gift shop staff was do helpful and not pushy at all. I preferred shopping there, to be honest. We spent a lot of time and money there. The vendors on site were also great and willing to give you a deal, even though we didn't ask for one. The entire resort staff were phenomenal! Always saying hello, smiling, stopping to chat and never too busy for a fist bump. If you were going off resort, they made sure they knew where you were going and who you were going with. We felt completely safe at all times! Our last night there, I got stung by something and Myles came to my rescue. He made sure I was okay and was hesitant to go back to work until my husband came back from our room. I reassured him that I was okay but I really appreciated his help an concern. The entertainment we managed to stay awake long enough to enjoy was great! Our absolute favorite was the Silver Birds steel drum band. Entertaining, athletic and an absolute must see! I'm sure I've forgotten to write about something. To sum everything up, it was an amazing vacation at the perfect resort for us! We're already talking about planning our return trip. We would go back in a heartbeat!…
Look up Steffan, Raymond, Britney, MO, and Tamique. Also, bring your insulated cup, tip well, and have fun! It is a small resort and very personalized. Eat at the Hibachi restaurant and reserve your pool lounger early. Also, bring water shoes for the beach.
This resort was very beautiful! Each and every staff member were so happy and cool! Friendly staff. When I visit Jamaica again I'd absolutely go back! I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for somewhere to stay while visiting.
Good- - My wife and I really liked the watersports, snorkeling, and free glass bottom boat. Captains Ariel (sp) and Carlos were great guys who deserved an A+. - Main beach was small and the sand was courser than other area resorts. Lots of chairs on the main beach with beautiful sunsets. The 2nd beach area was very small and private. The beach areas were a solid B. - The piano bar was fun. Marlon was a great bartender and worked both nights we went. - The coffee place was nice, but they only provided small 10 oz drinks. - Lots of pelicans, crabs, and fish to see - Our room faced the ocean and it was a beautiful view, even from the first floor. Bad - - The alcohol drinks were bad from day 1 and subpar compared to all the other resorts. I couldn't get a cold beer or gin/tonic to save my life. Beers weres erved in small plastic glasses (daycare cups) throughout the resort. The resort had no straws or limes. You were only provided two 8 oz beers in the mini bar daily and they made it incredibly difficult to get a real beer. - Rooms were small & outdated. The bathtub jets in the tub did not work. The bed was as hard as a rock and one of the worst I have slept on. Air worked well. The rooms were just not good compared to what we were expecting or have experienced at other resorts. - Restaurants - The resort has very few restaurants... Buffet, Platinum, Hibachi, and Italian. The pizza place is the Platinum restaurant, only the lunch service. I don't know how they consider these two different restaurants. The pool grill was horrible, but I ate 3 burgers throughout the week because options are very limited late at night. Only one sit-down breakfast place beside the buffet. The sushi restaurant was really only 4 high-top chairs located within the hibachi restaurant. In general, restaurants, food, and flavor were not good even for an all-inclusive. This was the most disappointing for me, as many other reviews said the food was good. - Music all night. Music is played in the main entertainment area until 12 pm or 1 am every night. This is normally fun but gets old quickly. We could hear all the music and entertainment in our room and it kept us up. Also defeating the purpose of having a room on the ocean, we certainly couldn't hear the waves. We had an early flight home and were serenaded by a drum group until 1 am. - Spa was OK not worth the money. - Pools were OK - Service was OK, but not incredible like other reviews said and I tipped $50 USD daily.…
This was our first trip to Jamaica. The resort was very nice. The room was not expansive, but large. We had the ocean view with a balcony. We visited all 3 pools and they were very nice and had swim-up bars. We went to 4 of the restaurants and the food was excellent. The resort was extremely clean and everyone was so gracious and friendly. We had some outside activities, so were pretty worn out afterwards and did not participate in the resort activities. They had so many activities available in the morning, afternoon and evenings. There was something for everyone. We have no complaints whatsoever with the resort.
The name says is all, its truly paradise it was my first time down south and going to Jamaica was very important to me for my first trip. Jewel Paradise Cove was perfect if jamaica is your dream destination then pick this resort if you want perfection! The food was amazing the staff made this place special, very well kept and well staffed place, it was also easy getting around the property no long walks. The drinks were fast and many pools and hot tubs around! The offsite tours and resort staff exceeded my expectations for a dream vacation. Ive noticed people come back here over and over, I can see why, and we cant wait to return again!
We booked a Concierge Ocean Front room for five nights in March. Pro's Nice view of the ocean but not of the beach Food was pretty much 3 out of 5 stars Sharene the bartender really made the trip nice, very friendly, positive Bed was very comfortable Yes, the glass bottom boat is worth the time (sign up at 8:30am day before) They have pickleball Great shows - especially steel drums Piano bar is a must Con's Yes, rooms need to be redone Food was monotonous Sometimes difficult to get a beach lounge chair Lots of reviews hype the service - we didn't get that experience, very average Overpriced Spa
