Cons When we stayed there was noise all day from construction of a new room directly next to the pool (this was not mentioned in prior conversations with the property). There was also noise and fumes from a trucking yard directly next door to the resort (also no mention of this prior). For the first day or two most staff did not wear masks however this changed once we complained to management. Also on the first night of dinner I found a decent sized piece of clear plastic in my dinner salad- the waiter just flicked it out the plate and said oh okay when I brought to his attention. At this point we made management aware of all our issues and were offered the chance to switch rooms so we moved to a room more to the center of the building which helped with the trucking yard issue as we were closer to the ocean and that drowned out most of the noise. This room also had a better view but then on our last two days there was no hot water which they apologized for and explained they needed new parts to fix this issue. Leaking pipes in bathroom and Wifi down for a day and a half (this they were aware of but did not apologize or advise when would be fixed) The a/c in the room was also broken but we knew this before selecting the room as there was enough ocean breeze coming through the windows to keep cool either way; thankfully it did not rain. At the end of our stay the only compensation offered was one of the dinner bills being comp (we ate there every night as no choice really based on curfew hours so I thought this was doing the bare minimum on their part) Pros The view of the ocean really makes the place. Staff overall were pleasant and the food and drinks were good. The owner had very friendly dogs on property that were free to roam as they please. According to google maps we were about 20-30 mins away from areas of interest in either direction (reach falls or blue lagoons, etc) but there is work being done on the roads so I would stay somewhere closer to town as this property is a bit ways out.

Hotel is very tropical appeal. I had room 1 on the first level. Word of advice please only take nonstop flights if possible. Just getting to the place was an adventure in itself. As I had arrived close to 7pm I had my colleague Junior who is also the proprietor for the best jerk chicken in the entire country Island Taste Jerk look for them on IG. It was approximately 17 miles to the Sea Cliff Hotel which took me down many winding roads through this densely tropical forest. Beware of the dogs as it was late. I did not feel safe getting out of the car to be surrounded by these ferocious creatures. I conjured up enough spirit to get out of the car wave my colleague adieu and go inside. The management left the key inside the door for me how nice of them. The was a hammock in the back patio of my room so I enjoyed cool ocean breeze as the breaking waves crashed onto the shore so serene. I eventually was curious and decided to explore the enchanted paradise. I was quickly ushered back to my room by the guard dogs. I went to sleep. I woke up the next morning for breakfast. I had the pleasure of meeting two of the managers that morning Monique which offered me an even better rate if I were to pay her in full the balance in US dollars. Terrell the kitchen manager whom provided his friend drive me to town at 4am on two separate occasions for $60 dollars They had no Internet plus the situation with the dogs. I luckily agreed. That part aside there were some positive secluded quiet hotel. Free breakfast and dogs if you are an animal lover. The negative no Internet. Please have your own personal Mi-Fi device if you wish to stay here and negotiate with Monique before hand the rate in US dollars.

This hidden gem was the perfect weekend getaway. Food was amazing (not exaggerating), friendly staff, clean property. Kudos to the owner, Brett and manager, Terrence who made us have an awesome stay! Ideal for groups and couples. Due to the uncertain weather we didn’t venture outside of the hotel (not even for drinks or food) but we had fun nonetheless by the pool with the swim up bar and simply enjoying the scenery around us. My only suggestions would be to bring a board game or two and a few snacks/drinks for in the night if you stay up late (kitchen closes at 6pm due to curfew - which is totally understandable). Sea Cliff is bucket list worthy!
