Share Pimento Lodge with only your truest friends and family. This is the edge of paradise. Lloyd and Kate are the perfect hosts for your relaxing trip to the most green and serene part of Jamaica. The image I add was from the front door of the villas. Which sits on top of a hill overlooking the blue Caribbean Sea.
We absolutely adored this place! Lloyd and Kate are the perfect hosts; the views are beautiful and peaceful; the room was completely comfortable and spacious; and the beach is a five minute walk away. We chose to not rent a car on this trip (we usually do), so Lloyd arranged for a driver whenever we needed one. Since we came back home, there hasn't been a week where we haven't said that we'd like to just drop everything and go back to Pimento -- and I look forward to making that happen.
I've never seen such an array of flowers and fruit trees in one location. Lloyd and his wife have created a heaven inside heaven. Port Antonio Jamaica must be the most forested area in Jamaica, the mountain rises from the ocean like a volcano, but the only thing falling is rain drops. It literally falls everyday. This is a good thing because if you are looking for relaxation and clean air - this is it! The Pimento Lodge Resort is hand crafted and carefully curated as a garden with accommodation and food. Garden first, because healthy green trees are everywhere - the most striking view is from the pool deck built on the side of a cliff overlooking a real life forest and into the yarning ocean below! Let's talk about accommodation, everything was neatly appointed and modern. First of all I felt very secure because of the high walls that surround the building and the way each individual villas was perched to give maximum view out and over the property. The bed was majestic with four huge royal posts. The bathroom was also nice appointed, Lloyd the owner was very proud of his solar water heater, since ecological conservation was always on his mind. Food - that first night we got in late, maybe around 11pm (hey it's Jamaica mon - it could have been 10pm) . The team of Lloyd and his wife stayed up for us and whe nwe told them that we drove 4 hours through the night rain to get there, they welcomed us with a warm meal of steamed fresh fish. Breakfast was included in the price for the room and that was served 5 star style. The people - We meet Lloyd and his wife the first day, that first meeting felt like meeting old friends, but the best part were the team who went above and belong to served us graciously. Thank you team Pimento Lodge Resort. Please be assured we will be back!…
Jamaica has a wealth of hidden gems for the inquisitive tourist. The Pimento Lodge is one of those priceless jewels that offers far more than just an alternative to the all-inclusive experience. Huge rooms with comfortable beds, air conditioning, and glorious views of the Caribbean Sea are just the beginning. Katherine and Lloyd are superb hosts, excellent cooks, and go out of their way to insure you have perfect stay and want to come back. For the experienced traveler, the Pimento Lodge is conveniently located near Boston - the home of Jamaican Jerk, the famous Blue Lagoon, and rafting on the Rio Grande. The Pimento Lodge is also a perfect hideaway for a writer, screenplay producer, or editor to start, finish, or polish a written work of art. The peaceful atmosphere lends itself to creativity at the highest level. Complete with a large, clean pool and exotic garden, the Pimento Lodge has everything you need to refresh, unwind, and give yourself over to the natural life. When you’ve grown tired of the same “make believe” Jamaica, book a few nights or a few weeks in the Pimento Lodge and experience the “real” Jamaica for a change.…
We stayed here for a week three years ago and had an amazing time. Lloyd and Kate went to great lengths to ensure our stay was excellent. We are a family of 5 (kids 14, 12 and 9 at the time) and our family room was perfect. The gardens are beautiful and really well looked after and the pool was gorgeous. Lloyd was the perfect host and we spent many hours chatting over a beer or cocktail. The food was great- lots of fresh local fruit and they introduced us to local foods whilst also accommodating our fussy children! The views were to die for and the local beach was totally untouristy. Lloyd helped us with arranging trips to nearby waterfalls which were amazing and a fantastic river rafting experience! He even cut fresh aloe vera from the garden to help soothe one of my daughters insect bites! Although it has taken us over three years to write this review (sorry!) we still often talk about our wonderful holiday at Pimento Lodge and would love to return one day. We hope all is well :)…
2 nights in a nice room confortable clean with AC and fan and spectacular environement and view over carribean sea Very nice hosts On a cliff very quiet and very close to thé beach It just have to be à bit more maintened(painting and cleaning thé outside)to be perfect!
This place is nothing like the pictures!!! There is no tv, hair dyer, iron. The pool, bar, and restaurant is a joke. Dinner is $25 per adult, food is average at best. Nothing about the property is true. I have traveled to many places and I would not recommend this place to anyone. My husband and I left a day early. This side of the island is beautiful and the locals are amazing and enjoyed the food by the locals I have never written a negative review, however this place is not a lodge. Do not stay here.
My husband and I stayed 3 wonderful nights at Pimento Lodge. The resort and accommodations are quiet, clean and beautiful, but what makes this property extra special are its owners. We have adopted Kate, Lloyd and Dionne as our Jamaican family and miss them already. We were treated as VIPs and Kate's local dishes are simply melt-in-your-mouth divine. We miss those already, too. We will definitely run back to Pimento Lodge whenever we make our way that way again.
We booked Pimento Lodge in a hurry after leaving our originally booked hotel in Port Antonio. It was getting later into the evening and we felt as tho we were going to be stranded until we came across this WONDERFUL place! We arrived only half an hour after booking this property-Lloyd met us upon arrival and delivered us to our room which Kate was working quickly to set up for us as we arrived on such short notice. We were quite bewildered when we arrived but this amazing couple turned all that around-it was after dinner was scheduled to be served-way after-when we arrived, but they got together a wonderful meal for us just the same. The room was spacious, SO CLEAN, and perfect. After a good nights rest it only got better from there! The service, grounds, food and hospitality were all fantastic-we couldn't have asked for a better place to reside after a horrible experience at a neighbouring hotel-they rescued 4 days of our long awaited for vacation and we are forever grateful them them!!! Love, Love, Loved it!!…
My husband and I stayed at the Pimento Lodge for 5 nights for our 20th anniversary. It was our first time to Jamaica, and we are so thankful we found this little gem! There are just 8 rooms, and each is very private with a balcony looking out to the ocean. The owners, Lloyd and Kate, are a lovely couple, and such gracious hosts. Their place is beautiful, clean and has wonderful food. We tried so many new fruits and foods while there--we are still mesmerized by the "custard apple" Lloyd picked for us! And since it was our anniversary, they were so kind and upgraded us to the top room with amazing views! We loved falling asleep and waking to the sound of the ocean waves everyday. Heaven. We are so happy we chose Portland for our vacation and cannot wait to come back!
