Actually traveled June 2006(no option) After staying at a couple B&B'sThought this would be something a little different for a night or two.Arrived early evening after a long day to find the lodge on a hill of a quiet side street. It looked interesting. We checked in and went up to our room.It wasn't quite what I had imagined. It was... More

+ staff is friendly and helpful + rooms are big and clean - You can really hear EVERYTHING throw the walls (Local couple next door stayed up the hole night, so I couldn't sleep at all: 8 hours of talking, tv was screaming and they were having sex). The hole house was empty except us and that couple next door.... More

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and the experience was very average. The rooms are drab for the price though the beds comfortable. The cheaper rooms (around $30-$40) don't have private bathrooms and the shared bathrooms have only cold water. There are even cheaper rooms out the back that are quite off-putting, more like mini-dungeons. The building was... More

This house, built in the late 1800s, is full of Victorian charm. It is located in a peaceful area with little traffic, and is very near to downtown Port Antonio. The owners were wonderful, arranging a last minute raft trip on the Rio Grande and suggesting fun places to eat. The little cafe on the second floor of the "Mall"... More

Staying at the DeMonetvin put us right in middle of typical Port Antonio life. Being close to the town centre was great, and the hotel is just the right distance so that you can escape the hustle and bustle. We had a large room with an attached bathroom. No air conditioning, but we prefer this; a modern fan was provided.... More

There are many good reasons to have a holiday in Jamaica, particularly in Port Antonio, and one of them is the De Montevin Lodge. For a start, it's very beautiful, with charming wrought-iron work, incredibly made in Scotland. But the main thing is the welcoming and friendly owners, George and Karen. They are gradually renovating and decorating the building in... More

Location were great . From the lodge its easy to everywhere. Our car was locked in the compound and when I awoke early a coffee was soon come, and came quickly.(bring your own rum cream) Capt’n “Rebio” the night watchman is a licensed raft man on the Rio Grand. We left the car at the hotel and the Capt’n handled... More

I just returned from visiting Port Antonio, June 2004. We had no hotel reservation and drove past the center of town up the hill to find a hotel. We made the best decision when we stopped at this hotel. We were greeted by a very friendly desk clerk seated in a lobby of dark wood and antiques. Quite lovely. Our... More

We stayed one night at the De Montevin Lodge in Port Antonio on January 5th 2003. It was clean and secure but it's not a resort, just a very nice guesthouse in an old, beautifully restored Victorian mansion. It sits out on the rocky Titchfield peninsula in a small neighborhood of old homes that, like most of the rest of... More
