The house is flanked by two private beaches, the larger of the two just steps from a 50-foot veranda. A Fast-Dry red clay tennis court provides an outstanding playing experience. Kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling gear are included. The 3-5 member staff will do your shopping, cooking and serving. A nanny or babysitter is available. The gardener ensures that the grounds and beaches are kept clean. A security guard is on duty from dusk to dawn who is accompanied by two watch dogs. Fantastic place for a family vacation. Has all the amenities for snorkeling and tennis. The location is great and provides a uniquely quiet environment. There is a mid-size supermarket 100 yards away with all the necessary products. The place itself has two beautiful pristine beaches with live corals and many reef fishes. The staff is excellent and very attentive. We asked them to pick up fresh Jamaican Patties on their way to work every morning. The tropical garden at the facility is fantastic, with many beautiful flowers and trees. The house has a new TV set and all channels possible and a surround sound system for the inside and outside, so we were able to stream our music throughout the day (Good WiFi). Also, there are two amazing dogs at the place, Max and Stella, who are amazing and very friendly, which helped us with missing our pets back home. Max will always hop on and join any paddle boarding and kayaking adventures. We have been on beach vacations all around the world, and this place was the best.

The natural beauty is amazing. It is the ideal setting for a family vacation or celebration. Excellent staff that made us feel at home and were ready and willing to respond to our requests. The wedding package included catering, chairs, tables, and staff to setup and clean up. This made hosting a wedding so much easier. Unfortunately there was a power outage on the night before the wedding, so we had to make use of flashlights and kerosene lamps provided.

We are so happy that our staff made your wedding and reception as stress-free as possible. Power outages, fortunately, are very rare these days in Jamaica but in their event, we make sure that there is adequate lighting for everyone's safety and convenience. We are trying to restore our generator but parts are increasingly difficult to source. Hopefully, we will have it working again, or replace it with a new one, or better yet, with a solar-powered backup.

Our family of 6 adults and 6 children, ages 7 to 1, spent another glorious week at Llantrissant. We were there two years ago. We loved having our own private house, beach and well maintained gardens and land to explore. The staff prepared meals, happily adjusting to the various wants of the group. The other reviews echo what I would say. We loved it there and hope to go again.

Hi! Am Karen. I had my birthday party at Llantrissant, it was beautiful. The owner Craig was very considerate and informative with whatever questions I had. The staff was kind , friendly and wonderful. The rooms are beautiful overlooking the beach. The staff prepared our meals which was delicious. I had a total of eight people stayed there and everyone enjoyed themselves and want to take their friends and families there for vacation. If you want a quiet, serene and beautiful getaway, that’s the place to be. We all look forward to going back soon.

We have been coming to Negril for many years and have over time stayed in different places. Llantrissant is unique in its ability to provide privacy, history, attentive staff, sunsets, and relaxation. Although there is no air conditioning, I think if they had it the place would not provide as authentic an experience. The sea breeze and fans provide all the comfort that is needed. Llantrissant is well located; easily accessible to everything you might need, and yet with its own private beach areas and estate sized property it feels quite secluded. This is a wonderful venue for any family or friend group, and a fabulous place for a wedding. We will be back again and again.

We just returned from a multi-generational family vacation at Llantrissant. We were 12 people including 3 children and had exactly enough space. The house is adorable, has a real authentic and tropical feel to it- it feels like true indoor/outdoor living as almost all the doors open up to the veranda! At night it feels like the ocean is inside your room, that’s how close the beach is! I have never stayed at a place where I was closer to the ocean. The water was clear and calm for the first few days, perfect for the kids to play in. The last few days the waves got bigger and the water a bit murkier, as there seems to have been some kind of storm way out. The kids still had fun but needed more supervision. In general this place is perfect for kids. My five year old wandered the gorgeous property all day, catching lizards and crabs and finding beautiful shells. There are the most incredible trees here, along with beautiful flowers and other greenery which are tended to every day by the gardener Gary. I must mention the kitchen staff Marcia and Tashana. Our family had very specific dietary needs due to keeping kosher and it being the Jewish holiday Passover. They were SO wonderful and accommodating, and helped us make delicious meals despite all the restrictions. They are truly special people. Ramon and Gary were also very helpful, and Charma and Barry made us feel safe at night. We were there during a Covid lockdown, so we couldn’t really go anywhere, which was fine with us. Gary arranged for a boat that came to pick us up one day for a few hours for snorkeling, which was great, and my sister and I paddle boarded over to seven mile beach one day, which was very easy. Otherwise we enjoyed tennis, swimming, kayaking, tanning, eating, lizard hunting, dancing, playing board games, ( they have a great scrabble set!) and just enjoying each other’s company in paradise. Thank you to Craig and Cheryl for allowing us to stay in your home and for being so so so helpful and responsive! We hope to come again! One note- the last two days were over Easter and we noticed several fires across the bay. Unfortunately the smell, smoke, and ash did drift onto our property which was slightly unpleasant. Perhaps it was some kind of traditional thing? Not sure. As for the music, maybe because of Covid and the holiday, we didn’t notice much.

Julie, Sorry for the late delay in responding to your wonderful review. We really had a great time coordinating with you regarding your special needs and are happy that everything went as planned. The fires that you witnessed were probably caused by lightning strikes in the Great Morass which is no longer a wetland since it was drained during the 1950s to make way for tourism. The government recently won a grant that will provide a basis for its restoration as a wetland. Thank you again for being such wonderful guests.

Llantrissant is well located, situated between the cliffs at West End and the 7 mile beach. Both of these areas of Negril provide their own experience, however Llantrissant is very unique in what it provides. The privacy and relaxation available on this estate sized property with excellent views of the water, and manicured gardens, combined with its well kept historic home and exceptional staff create a magical vacation. The staff is happy to prepare dinner--and it rivals anything you can find in the best restaurants. Enjoying a delicious meal and watching a most beautiful sunset ---so special. Cannot recommend this property too highly. Have been coming to Negril since 1983 and truly by comparison to most places, this is a gem that should not be missed. Once experienced, you will return again and again.

My group of 9 friends came to Negril for my 30th birthday party. We rented the whole property and were there a total of 4 days. We did all sorts of things that the property helped us coordinate from boating trip, kayaking, transportation, meals, grocery shopping and outings. Our safety was never a concern and they truly looked out for us. Craig and Cherry thanks for sharing your amazing home with us! From property manager Ramon was great to work with and was helpful. Ms Anne and Ms Natalie were amazing, helpful, sweet and amazing cooks! I miss there food already! Not mention the cutest guard dog, Stella, who truly not only looked out for us but was the sweetest thing. (I miss her!) Ryan the groundskeeper was great, And made a sweet bouquet for the table on my birthday. We had such an amazing time, and counting the day to go back to Negril for our wedding. We are even looking into getting married here next year. If you have a group of friends or family, this is your place. This goes down as the best vacation EVER! PS in regard to noise that people complain about, we had no issues.

People first! The staff was INCREDIBLE! Miss Anne, Natalie, Talesia, Danny, Benji, Charma and Barry - the fact that I know your names and had lovely conversations with each of you proves that I was taken care of. Travelling in a foreign country for the first time can be nerve-wracking, something you don't want to feel on a holiday, and the people that take care of this amazing historical property, and all of those in it, were Superb. Thank you so much again, ladies, I never felt safer. The property! For anyone who wants a huge (HUGE, like over an acre) property with pockets upon pockets of private yet open romantic seating/nooks in an among the massive banana trees, palm trees and native Jamaican trees, this is the place to be. A relaxing hammock underneath a big strong Jamaican Mahoe tree right near the beach, TWO private beaches (one you'd swim in less as there's more waves but is quite private ;) ) Apparently a lot of people have weddings here (no surprise). We got to stay in the little cottage barely attached to the main house - super private and very good mini Grecian lowered shower. I fell in love with the trees, the nature around the property was so well kept and massive. Breathtaking. Snorkeling at the beachfront, all equipment included. We got to see over half of the fish that we would see on our future snorkelling tours in our own beach front water. We went snorkelling EVERYDAY for over an hour. A TON of cool fish if you take that gear out! If you're not into snorkelling, the famous 7 mile beach is literally a 9 minute (or less) ocean kayak from the front door to the whitest sandiest beach with absolutely nothing but sand, paradise teal water and only a few locals around (the resorts are up to the left by quite a bit). Kayak and enjoy the swimming/relaxing beach if you're not as into coral. Everything is borderline antique, but has that super sturdy feel. Literally NOTHING smelled old though - probably because it's always airy and open. Super fresh smelling and plenty of windows. I love the smell of the towels - because they had no smell. I know that sounds silly but I have such a nose, it was nice to smell nothing but freshness. The house tells such a story. Miss Anne has worked at the estate for over 40 years. Random obsession: they have 9 large glass oil lanterns what were so romantic to bring out to the beach. Something we don't get enough of these days! Listening to the waves as we fell asleep was so calming. Our view from the little cottage was - the teal water and the beach and a beautiful palm. The veranda that wraps around the house has a huge porch for dinners, all overlooking the water. Beds were decent but they could probably invest in new ones. None were king size which we found odd. None of us were ever too hot, if anything we felt nice and cool in the evening but could still sleep in our shorts and t's. If you have a destination wedding or big family, there are a ton of beds and a ton of rooms. Everything is in a massive quantity. They even have 9 Tommy Bahama oak beach chairs all lined up to watch the sunset. I was legit so sad to leave. We just got home last night and this is the first thing I wanted to do in the morning. Thank you so much to the people that made this place feel like home. I felt so safe, and I cannot stress that enough. :) One last thing - if you're a light sleeper, Jamaica in general is not for you as they have booming music everywhere, no matter what. I am a mid to light sleeper though, and with ear plugs was fine and got in all my regular hours. ****Super random but they should put in little stepping stones from the cottage to the kitchen for the late night munchies! Hehehe! A little too many stones. OVERALL 9.8/10, and everything you could imagine that you'd need on your vacay is here. Incredibly trustworthy staff that are outgoing and super open to anything you need. Just re-looked at the photos on the site as I was going to add more, but I think they did a good job! There aren't many of the little cottage, but take my word it was ADORABLE.

Rachael, What kind words to share with our staff. When you were referring to the beds I wasn't sure if you were referring to the mattresses which are less than five years old and are used only about half the year. The four poster beds are really antique, meaning more than 100 years old but they are rock solid. The tent poles for all of the mosquito nettings have recently been replaced and are much sturdier. The nettings themselves were newly sewn to our specifications last year. Just an update on the night noise - there has been a full court press on the part of the community leaders to curb the excessively loud music that seemed to have been the norm over the holidays. We have been here for the past two weeks and whenever the music was uncomfortably loud, a call to the station by the night watchman was all that it took to turn it down. As a backup, the Superintendent for the area sends out a text nightly with the Shift Commander's cell phone if the station does not respond. But the really great news is that we were finally able to get an upgrade to the internet service so that our speeds are now around 25 mbps which is quite a dramatic improvement over the previous 1mbps! I have even been able to host a video conference call with full video!! With the Google mesh network stationed around the house, everyone now has the availability of Wi-Fi calling and even streaming. And about that path outside the cottage: we have covered it with beach pebbles, tiny shells and sand so that a barefoot trip to the kitchen will not be an issue. But next time stock up the refrigerator in the cottage. We hope that you will return. Thank you again. Craig, Cherry and the Staff

We decided to book our family Christmas and my 50th birthday trip to the Llantrissant Beachcliff villa. I would say the villa presents nicer than the photos on the website. It is very rustic (if you are from Ontario think old Muskoka cottage) but well maintained and the grounds are very nice. There are two beaches although we only used the main beach since the other smaller beach is very shaded. The sand is nice but it does get rocky as you walk into the water. There are plenty of activities on site as identified on their website. We took advantage of all of them. There is snorkelling but the reef out front of the villa is not very impressive and there is quite a bit of garbage on the sea floor. The staff were pleasant and the meals were very well done by Miss Anne and Natalie. We basically rotated jerk chicken, baked chicken, curry shrimp and lobster for dinner. All were delicious however the staff does not bake or do desserts. The HiLo store is walkable for all of your grocery needs. The biggest issue we encountered was the noise at night. The villa is across the bay from a number of resorts and bars and on many of the nights we could not sleep because of the noise. With ear plugs and a pillow over my head you could still clearly hear the music and vibrations of the bass. Usually the music went until 1:00-3:00am. I have never experienced this level of noise at any vacation spot. You will need to consider this very carefully if you plan to stay here. There were some other nuisances as well like very poor WiFi bandwidth and low water pressure but they were not big issues for us. You should also be aware that the beds on the main floor are just double beds, not Queen or King. We have stayed at a number of villas in the Caribbean including the Noble House in MoBay and can say this was not the worst we have been at but definitely not the top of our list. This is a very nice spot that we enjoyed however the noise at night was something that soured our vacation and we will not return or recommend it to our friends.

Response from Craig T, Owner at Llantrissant Beachcliff Villa
Responded Jan 5, 2019
Michael, We greatly appreciate your positive comments about the villa, grounds and staff as well as your negative comments about the night noise. Just before leaving the property a week prior to your arrival, we had experienced a relatively quiet period at night with the local constabulary responding to our complaints and the music was turned down. Unfortunately, a different set of standards, or lack thereof, applied during the holiday period. From what I understand now is that the Shift Commander’s cell phone number is available on a nightly basis so that complaints will go directly to him or her rather than calling the station. So far this has made a difference. I have called our security guard for the past three nights and he said that it has been quiet. We will ask Ann to offer any baked goods which she is capable of preparing. We are also lobbying hard to the cable provider in our area to get migrated onto a network with more bandwidth. If that doesn't work then we will go with its competitor for a fiber optic connection which will be dedicated to the internet. Actually, regarding the beaches, the sand does extend outwards for a few hundred feet but the rough seas bring in small stones closer to shore which we try to rake up. The trash on the sea floor is a global issue and we are always taking up what we can when we see it. The coral formations are making a comeback after several devastating hurricanes but it is a slow process. We do have a auxillary water pump and a 400 gallon tank but the pressure is not the same as when it comes off the main water supply. When the four poster beds were made about 100 years ago, there was no such thing as King or Queen size beds. There is a King size bed upstairs and a Queen size bed in the cottage. The local Chamber of Commerce and other stakeholders are doing everything we can to control the night noise. We are hoping for a peaceful solution and we will keep you informed by e-mail of our success so that you will not be discouraged from returning and that you will be able to recommend our property to your friends. Thank you again for your frankness which hopefully will help us find a solution to the problem.
