Hello all, apologies for the length of the post but wanted to make people aware. We are members of the Exotic Travellers programme and have had booked Azul Beach Resort Negril back in November 2020 for 2 connecting Swim Up suites with member benefits in August 2022. We received a phone call a week before we were due to arrive, telling us they had double booked our suites. We asked them to honour our reservation as a member of the family is disabled and simply put any change to our booking would cause serious detriment to their health. E-mails were also sent and acknowledged regarding the conditions the member of the party has but this was all in vain. Due to the airline changing our flights sometime ago, we arrived 24 hrs later than the start of our booking (we called the customer services manager several times to request that our reservation was changed also to reflect our new travel dates. However, they never returned our call to move our reservation by 1 day, so we gave up and paid for the suites even though we were not here to use them and had to book 1 additional day so we could have a room for our last day). According to our booking upon our arrival out rooms would be ready for us as we came later . We arrived to the resort at 1 pm and the replacement rooms were still not available to us past 5 pm, this was yesterday. We were finally given the replacement rooms (not the ones we booked but still swim up so we took them as we were tired from travelling for 2 days and fed up of arguing with them). As we were given the rooms, I noticed my room’s AC was not working so the engineer was brought in. We waited 2 hours for him to fix the issue, he said he was not able to and we would need a different room for that night. We waited o er an hour for a manager to come and see us and advise what our options were. We were offered a lower category of room in the same building as the disabled member of our party or a higher category room in a different building for 1 night whilst they work to resolve the long term issue of getting my party the suites we have booked. We accepted the higher category room (believing we were entitled to a little compensation and 1 of us would sleep with the disabled member of our party). We went to reception to collect our keys and were told to wait to speak with the manager again, he told us that since he offered us the nicer room a VIP had arrived and checked in so they gave them the room promised us. We were then given the lower category room and told someone would speak with us the next day. So we had to go to sleep in a different room with all our luggage in the other room. Thousands paid for the membership on top of the actual cost for this 2 week holiday and this is how the treatment shown to supposedly valued members and most importantly a EXTREMELY VULNERABLE DISABLED PERSON. The exotic travelers team is shocking, and have done absolutely nothing to assist us. All we have been offered as compensation is $200 that you can only spend on what they say you can spend it on. DO NOT STAY HERE, THEY DO NOT CARE FOR THEIR GUESTS JUST GETTING OUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND TREATING US WITH SUCH INCONSIDERATION.…
We had an amazing stay here at Azul, on arrival we were very impressed with the lobby and the outside of the hotel, it was very beautiful. Check in was good and we were greeted with Champaign on arrival. We were taken to our rooms by a member of staff and shown around the hotel briefly. When we got into our room we were both very underwhelmed by everything and it needed some major TLC and not what you expect from a 5* resort. However, the room did have everything we needed, the shower and bathroom were great and bed was comfy. We stayed in a premium adults only swim up room 81007, the furniture was very worn and the there was signs of poor ventilation as the sun bed outside had mould spots and so did the curtains. It was impossible to dry clothes as it took almost a week to dry things and there is no sun so you can’t sun bath as it’s a very shaded area. The pool itself is beautiful and so we’re the views and the swim up bar so we would stay in these rooms again. The outside of the hotel again is beautiful but needs some major TLC as the wood work on the outer buildings is rotting and you can also see there’s a lot of sun beds on balcony’s with mould spots. The gardens and grounds are very well kept and you can see workers doing jobs all over the hotel so hopefully the management are taking these reviews on board. It would be a real shame for this hotel to go down hill even further because of this. The beach at the hotel is probably the most beautiful beach I’ve seen, clear warm waters and very well kept. You do get hounded to buy things like cannabis but nothing that would ruin your day, once told no they move on & it is Jamaica after all. The Beach is also perfect for snorkelling and you can even see some star fish. Food at the hotel was nothing special but we never went hungry, breakfast at palms and mahogany were our favourite and lunch at palms was lovely too as well as the Asian restaurant. The themed Buffet nights were great, they did 2 of them on our 10 night stay, a lot of choice on the food on them nights. Drinks at the hotel are fab, premium drinks and lovely cocktails from 10am. Night time entertainment was mediocre so after day 3 we just made the most of the day time and had an early night because the night time was quiet and boring. Day time entertainment and staff are much better. Don’t get me wrong there was a couple of nights where the entertainment was enjoyable. The staff at the hotel make it what it is, special mention to Cedrick, Christina and Tina as well the breakfast staff at palms. Over all we had an amazing holiday and if we were to stay in Negril again we would stay at Azul.…
This is a midrange hotel not upscale at all. Be prepared to be asked many times if you would like to purchase a timeshare. The pictures on the hotel website are not accurate at all. In general I would stay away from this property.
I have been to many resorts all over the Caribbean, Azul Beach Resort Negril is my favourite resort in the world! I have stayed at Azul 2 times so far and I will be returning in September for my birthday vacation for visit #3! This is the first time I have gone to the same resort, because I loved it so much! I do not have one bad thing to say about this resort, from the management, all staff and maintenance crew. The people at this resort are what make the experience so special, they go above and beyond for every guest to make you feel special and taken care of like family! The beach is absolutely stunning, in my opinion on of the best spots on the famous Seven Mile Beach! The food is incredible, I have never had food this good at an all inclusive resort, including restaurants, snack bars and room service! The rooms are comfortable, cozy, modern and clean with all the amenities you can think of! The properly is beautifully kept with maintenance crews working hard everyday to make sure it looks fresh, clean and well taken care of. This is the BEST RESORT IN NEGRIL! This was one of the best vaction i I've had in a long while the beach was to die for it was very clean the sunset was the best part of my day to sit in my room and see the sun I decided to celebrate my birthday in Jamaica however I came to Azul Beach Resort therefore the entertainment team was top of the notch for me the night of my birthday I spend it alone however soso looked through the crowd and saw me he called me up I had a blast with them doing the line dance. My girl voya she is so amazing she's someone to talk to she showed me around the place and Bubbles she call herself the fun police of azul she has a lot of energy and that's what I love about her however the entire entertainment team they had a lot of energy I love them for that they made me enjoy my birthday to the fullest how can I forget Leon he mades us play the game in the water we had to do it over a thousand times before we actually get the game it was fun and all I did was enjoy my vacation thanks to Azul Beach Resort and the entertainment team and all the stuffs and I just want to see a big thank you too soso,leon,Voya,bubbles,nena…
During our stay, my 4 year old daughter truly enjoyed going to the playhouse. The staff were amazing especially Jojo who created fun activities for the children daily. The staff were remarkable and trusting. I am grateful for the quality of care that they provided to my daughter and making her experience memorable.
So after no holidays over the Covid period, we decided we wanted to come back to Azul and were fortunate enough to be here for 3 weeks. Where do we begin? AMAZING The beach is stunning and beautiful . Had no problems with sunbeds and towels . The staff are amazing to name a few Cheryl our bar Boss Lady, Tina and Antoinette at the swim up, Marion at the Mahogany, Kaydene at Palms , the reception team ( thank you for sorting out our favourite room in block 3), beans crew , kayla, Camille, Copeland and the crew at the Amber...thank you all. Ps Travel we have not forgotten you FOOD To spend 3 weeks getting dressed for dinner and enjoying so many lovely meals, the Italian and Hui Hin and Acke ...yummy and both Mahogany and palms with the beach bbq we were spoilt for choice. And we did have room service which was served so quick and still so hot and tasty. ENTERTAINMENT Chilled and with a Jamaica vive and a great entertainment team. SPECIAL MENTION So while sitting and chilling one day we had the pleasure to meet a new member of the Azul team. He was quiet and friendly and always cheery and had a wee chat each day and we found out he was the new executive chef . It came up in conversation that we had missed our 25th wedding anniversary the previous year but were so glad to be back at Azul . Thinking nothing of this, one day Chef Jose told us he wanted to make us a special dinner and SPECIAL It was. We were truly humbled by his kindness and the meal was simply out of this world. TLC The resort does need some tlc, which we would hope it will get it soon now that covid has moved on and life returns to a more normal life. Fantastic Holiday!! We were there with friends for my mothers 70th birthday And they surly made it special. Upon arrival we were greeted with champagne, our room was beautiful and clean. The dining staff was very accommodating to my husband and sons food allergies. The entrainment staff was outstanding and kept us entertained they entire time. We had so much fun. The beach and the pool s we gorgeous. I truly recommend you staying here.
The experience was far from perfect.. Examples why I will avoid Karisma in the future: 1. No greetings on arrival or welcome drink 2. Hotel staff were difficult with our drivers increasing wait times 3. No towels for beach with no resolutions 4. Canceled a 1 night due to airport transportation greater than 1 month in advance, no credit was received as promised. Staff confused. 5. Kids Area Nonexistent (no staff, no assistance) 6. Beach Butler Service doesn’t exist, we were served once in 4 days 7. Very limited food and quality, Ackee was the better restaurant. 8. Street Noise till 5am every night 9. Late Arrival and room bar was not stocked 10. Presented to hotel concierge twice for setting up a birthday surprise and nothing was completed. Ackee staff made last minute accommodations. One of the best holidays I’ve been on! I had so much fun from start to finish. The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic. Every lunchtime at Garfield’s, Soso, Leon & Popstyle were getting everyone involved with the activities & Anton (DJ WiFi) on the mic! Bones had his aqua dance classes even in the rain which were fun! Even in the evening the entertainment didn’t stop we had the additional staff of Voya, Bubbles & Neena along with DJ Squid and his shy dancing! We stayed close to the Poinsettia bar during the mornings and late afternoon and played games with Ford & Flamez, I (jointly) won the horseshoe game. At the bar itself, Cedrick is the man to see! His magic tricks and excellent service kept us entertained for hours! Special mention to Damien, Stevon & Huie there as well. Our bell boy ‘Bad Boy’ (self entitled) Dean was great on arrival & departure assisting with our cases. Also a mention to Patricia at Beans coffee shop, my girlfriend required Oat milk (which Justyn went and got from the supermarket for us) and we were remembered every time we came for a coffee.
