I ended up at Chippewa Village by fluke and because I'm from the mega tourist trap Niagara Falls the name inspired me.I would have to agree with everything in Joanne F.'s review and say I loved my cottage, is character and position. John is an interesting and pleasant fellow and my one request for great orange juice was granted and... More

I stayed here a few years ago with friends and we had an amazing time. John would bring us delicious warm bread some mornings and was always on hand to help us with where to go etc. The apartments are not luxurious but they are unique, delightful and handmade - something I value much more highly than a standard hotel... This place was perfect for what we were looking for. Quiet, safe, clean, friendly, and most of all, prime location! Everyone we met in Jamaica was so friendly, genuine, and helpful. John is a great guy--easy to communicate with, funny, and honest. His dogs, though very friendly and gentle, are big enough and have a strong bark to keep away... More

I'm writing this review not to bash the owner, John Babcock, but to warn other travelers through my experience. I researched the villa and had read both positive and negative reviews but all hotels have both positive and negative reviews. So I considered the most recent ones and decided to book my 5 night stay there. I contacted John directly... More

Let me reassure you that we have taken your review very seriously. Still, you have been very hard on us! As you said, before making your booking, you read positive and negative reviews. This tells you, that the same reality can be differently perceived by different individuals. The one looking for a brand new property like you, will not be... More

Calm, relaxing and creative designed facilities that smoothly blend with the tropical paradise of Negril. Strongly recommend if you are looking for something out of commercial mainstream without sacrificing on location or nature. In the Great Morass you can find a unique high spot with 360 view. I just returned from 3 months at Chippewa Village. Yes, you read it well, 3 months!!! And I loved it every second. I never got bored of the perfect beach at the front (just across the road) and the peace and privacy of the lush green gardens. The studio was just right for me, the full kitchen was fun. I... More

I stayed at Chippewa village with a few friends for nearly two weeks, the most amazing two weeks ever! The resort gives a really private relaxed vibe, the ideal spot to just get away from it all, rooms were clean and well looked after, the owner john and his lovely dogs will take such good care of you, making fresh... I have been there twice. It is one of my most favorite places in the world. It is rustic, private, quiet, and charming. Does it need work? Yes. Are there big loud dogs? Yes. Is John an interesting character who does not look like he should be running a hotel? Yes. But these are the things that make this place... More

Nearly no water Toilet couldn't flush more than twice a day Holes in the wall The pool was a mess No gardening done for a very long time And the restaurant wasn't... More

I stayed here for 2 weeks from Dec 28th through Jan 11th. Like most travelers, I read as much as I can on places before I book. I read the reviews on Chippewa, and it seemed like 50/50, with the negative aspects being geared mostly towards the dogs, not the place itself. Being a dog person by nature, I really... More
