Best breakfast in Negril! The owners are incredible friendly and welcoming as are the staff members. They were very conscious of COVID-19. Staff members wore masks and our temperatures were taken on arrival. We were also asked to use their hand sanitizer on arrival. A must go place when visiting Negril!

I have been there in 1982 Alfred was a charming windsurfer(dj, music lover) and his 4 years daughter photo material. At (then) round bar had few nice Stripes and huge spliffs in the after sailing sessions. Pitched my tend between the bangalows and enjoyed Alfry s mama chef creol recepices. Rita Marley was hanging there sometime also. Thumbs up! Real Jamaica no problem!

Restaurant was not terribly busy. However, only one woman working the bar/restaurant area. She was very cheerful, kind and efficient! Food was amazing. Jerk chicken, fish, curry were all on point! Very highly satisfied with the experience and ocean view!

I was there speaking with family in America and was told to stop talking loud by a drunk guest. When I told him to stop speaking to me one of Alfred waiter had the nerve to threaten to hit me multiple times while other employees just stood there and enjoyed the commotion. They are the worst and unprofessional people I have ever encountered in the industry. I will never return to Alfred neither would I recommend anyone going there unless you want a belligerent employee threatens to fight you if you don't shut up.

Staying at Alfred's is an experience not to be missed in a life time. Staying at Alfred's is going from home to home. There is no experience like it. Whether you bring your family and friends or whether you stay on you own you will be treated like family. Rooms are basic but sooooo clean. Atmosphere is like nothing on earth. It is definately the place for all experiences - it beats an all inclusive any day. Yes the party nights are tuesday, friday and and Sunday so beat is on. - but that is what its all about. One Lovex Its the best place ive ever stayed.

My wife and I stayed at Alfred's for 4 nights this November with another couple, and really had the best time. The rooms are basic, but it was just what we were looking for. We were able to get rooms right on the beach, and always felt completely safe, as we had a private porch that you needed a key to open. It was just so nice to wake up every morning to the sounds of the waves combined with the locals going about their day.

The staff was friendly and made us feel right at home. The bar/restaurant is phenomenal, with some of the best rum punch I've ever had. We only had breakfast at the restaurant this time (although I had lunch there the last time we visited Negril and loved it), and it was delicious. The bartenders are great, literally EVERYTHING was great!

Like I said, the rooms are basic, but if that's your thing, then you'll love it! Also, the bar has live music on the beach three nights a week, and it does get pretty loud so hard to sleep until 1:30, but then again, who cares? You're on vacation, no need to go to bed!!!

And if you stay there and are up to it, make sure to swim out to the floating dock -- it's a long swim, but you can get a really cool view from there!

Been going here for well over a decade and have weathered the ups and downs of their service issues and remained silent and have kept returning but no longer.

The food is really good at a fair price, jamaican breakfast. negril breakfast sandwich, and not to leave out their fish and chips, all are awesome, location priceless. But this past visit had to throw in the towel. When you have to beg the waitress for a tiny cup of water at breakfast and can't get her off her cell phone to pay the bill or tip her, when she really didn't even deserve the tip, I'm out. There was only 2 other customers at the time. Made one more attempt a couple days later because we were craving their fish and chips and didn't even bother placing the order, just walked thru.Sorry but the gangster rap Rudy had cranked just buzz killed our appetite, but the one customer we saw didn't seem to mind, and the 1/2 dozen locals seemed to love it, I'm sure they were spending some money.

Sad to say we're done and won't visit again.

The food and drinks were reasonably priced (meals from $5-$10) and tasted great. You can pay in J$, US$, Euros, etc. The service was one of the fastest we experienced in Negril. The view of the beach was fantastic. They offered free wi-fi which was an added bonus.

I recently spent 5 nights at Alfred's this past winter. Aside from the perfect weather, the location, music, staff and food were all good. What made my trip special were the other travelers that were staying there because we all got along and had similar interests and values. Alfred's is not for everyone. There is no TV or A/C and some rooms don't have a bathroom. You could say this is just a notch above a hostel but I enjoyed every minute of it and will be back to stay in 2015.

Alfred's Ocean Palace is relaxing. If you want to have a real Jamaican experience this is the place to stay. Beautiful sunsets and Moon rises.
They have a live band there playing 3 nights a week great fun, lots of people. Lee, Damien and Rudy just some of the friendly bar staff that make you forget the stresses of home. Tropical drinks that make you feel IRIE! Lots of tasty food to select from. Nergil has seven miles of white sand beaches but the only stop only there for me will always be Alfred's Ocean Palace. I'm already planning my next vacation right there.
