We had great time at Riu Palace. It’s not our first time at this resort and we were once again very pleased with the service, food quality and variety, cleanliness and most importantly friendliness of all the staff. We felt very safe and well taken care of. Number of covid protocols were in place and it provided additional comfort. Thank you! We will be back

Hotel's Favorite
First of all I want to say how good this resort is, ignore any bad reviews it’s fabulous and they take really good care of you. Let’s start at the beginning, the hotel is beautiful very well looked after. Check in was easy and the welcome rum punch was a very nice touch after such a long journey. The suitcases were taken to the room for us which was fab. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. The mini bar very well stocked. Downside on the rooms compared to other 5 star hotels we have stayed in was the optics was empty and no bathrobe/slippers. Also a nice touch seen in other hotels is chocolates left on the pillows by the maids during downturn. Other than that rooms were great. We had a sea view room in block 3 perfect location and view. The hotel , beach pools etc are stunning and you can see by the photos. I would say the best part of the hotel is the beach being so nice and so close. The drinks service was good and the selection of drinks on offer was very good. An extra touch would be to offer nuts/pretzels at night with drinks which we have seen in other 5 star hotels. The buffet food is out of this world very tasty and soo much choice , one of the best buffets we have been to. On the other hand the a la cartes were ok, not bad not great but nice and ok so we spent most of the week in the buffet as it was soo good. The jerk hut and snack bar was excellent too. The entertainment was good but quite repetitive not sure if that’s due to reduced capacity in the hotel. The staff at the hotel are the best we have come across very attentive and always happy they can’t do enough for you. They made everyday absolutely perfect and are a great asset to the hotel from the restaurant servers to the cleaners and pool cleaners all are excellent. We loved this hotel it was excellent and although some things require a slight improvement we would still book to come back again and now wishing we had stayed longer. Thanks again for an amazing week.

Second trip here. Love this resort. Beautiful beach, even more beautiful people. So many to thank: Diamond, Natherine, Damien, Captain Crazy, Karen, Andre, Omar, Ionie, Julian and all the other wonderful breakfast staff. Kyle and his fellow photographers. The hardworking housekeeping staff and the bar staff. Everyone so kind and welcoming. Thanks for making for a great week!

Just returned from our 4th time here. We love this place. This time we took our young adult children & numbered 7. Everyone loved it. It’s clean, the food is great, and the staff exceptional. Best beach with no seaweed, clear torquiose water and usually calm. Security on beach keeps peddling at bay, they will ask but are not pushy. Pools are clean, and 3 to choose. Plenty of loungers and shaded covers as well as umbrellas. Bar service was good, drinks were plenty and strong. The buffet is excellent, some nights are seafood themed with lobsters, clams, muscles, whatever you desire, Brie cheeses, smoked salmon every morning, nothing to complain about here. Didn’t care for the Italian or Steak house as much as the buffet but Krystal is always a treat. (Lobster risotto) wait staff in all restaurants are EXCELLENT. Special mention to Ryan&Twain who became friends with our kids and treated us special, mimosas waiting every morning. Rooms are cleaned by midday and towels are plentiful. Robes were provided. Beds and pillows were good. The drawers tend to pick up a mildew smell from humidity but it’s not terrible. We like that this resort isn’t a party young adult type, it’s quieter though there’s still lots of fun to be had. The entertainment has suffered due to COVID in that the pre show dancing is gone and lots of the entertainment staff is gone, as are the great dancers but this is understandable. What sets this resort apart is the staff. You do not feel pressured to tip, though we do, and they all seem to care about you having a good time. The employee sweeping up during dinner, tired on her feet, took the time to ask how our vacation was going, what a sweet lady, Marleen. We were given a room very close to the buffet and when we asked for a quieter one not only were we moved to oceanfront but a bottle of wine was left in our room for us. We will continue to return!

For our first trip to Jamaica, we had a lovely time. It is a bit of a drive to/from the airport but arranging transportation was not an issue. Upon entering, we were greeted with a rum punch (and option for just non-alcoholic punch) and the person at the desk gave us a warm welcome and went over detailed information about the stay from pointing out different events held each night, eating options, and popular tourist attractions. The staff was great whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner but there were a couple breakfast servers that really made us enjoy our stay with their friendly attitudes and hospitality! Staff was always wearing masks and masks encouraged for public areas but with the beach just a step away the fresh air and option for social distancing was always there. Rooms were kept clean and even room service would mop the sand from our room. I would definitely come back!
