This is a beautiful hotel with fantastic staff. The rooms are just as beautiful as they appear in pictures and the grounds are incredibly well used. The biggest standout was the wonderful people who worked here. They are knowledgable, personable, and responsive to requests. There were two small issues with our room a fan that wasn't working (they already had two extras in the room, however), and a funky electrical socket. Both concerns were addressed immediately. They went out of their way to help facilitate everything we wanted out of our trip- for example, rearranging umbrellas so I could have shade in the beautiful infinity pool, finding great places to cliff jump from on the propoerty, and taking us on informal snorkel swims around the property. We had some of the best conversations we have ever had in Jamaica with the life guards, resturant staff, and conceirge staff here and that is saying something because there is no end to amazing people in Negril. The available snorkel gear, floaties, kayaks, and paddle board (the latter two weren't available on our trip unfortunately) were are really nice touch. Great and very flexible/available spa services. The conceirge even hooked us up with mopeds delivered directly to the hotel.
Tensing Pen is truly something special. It feels like home and everything I would want in a resort. My parnter and I felt comfortable leaving our phones and belongings out and visible on our loung chairs while swimming and often left our room unlocked when close by. Many people were doing similar things. Everything was so comfortable, warm, and luxurious. This is my fourth time to Negril and I don't think I will ever stay anywhere else. The food at the Lodge resturant is also some of the best we had on our trip as well as some of the most reasonanbly priced. You get all of the amenities of a larger resort with the quiet, flexibility, and personal attention of a smaller hotel.
Side note= I highly recommend splurging for one of the Pillar rooms with an ocean view if it's in the budget. We were in the South Pillar and the privacy and view from the suite were top notch.

I just got back from a week at this exquisite boutique hotel on the cliffs of Negril. It’s an amazing place.. beautiful setting amongst tropical gardens with breathtaking sunsets. Imagine how it feels to get the best massage you’ve ever had by either Georgia Maxcine or Pamela and then to go back to the lodge where Razor makes you the best dirty banana you’ve ever had while the sky is turning scarlet. The feeling of relaxation and peacefulness prevails the entire time you are there due to the entire staff from the minute you are greeted by the lovely women at the front desk, the hospitality from the entire wait staff and the morning greetings from the gardeners while you are having coffee on your terrace. The rooms are kept spotless and fresh from the housekeeping staff and anything you may need is taken care of immediately. This was our first time visiting Jamaica and I don’t think we could have made a better choice for accommodations! Located on the west side of Jamaica about 90 min drive from the airport, Tensing Pen offered a peaceful, serene escape. It was perfect!! The grounds were beautifully laid out amidst the jungle and ocean cliffs.
The food was amazing! We ate at several other restaurants, only to agree each time that the food here was the best. We were never disappointed! Portion size and price were very reasonable.
We stayed in the garden B cottage which was just big enough-very quaint. Loved the front porch with chairs as an option for a place to hang out during the day. We never had trouble finding lounge chairs in a quiet, ocean view location!
Probably the highlight of Tensing Pen for us was the friendly, welcoming staff. We were always greeted with a smile and staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable/enjoying ourselves. In our short stay, we came to know many by name and looked forward to visiting with them each day. Such nurturing, kind hearts 💜
We did venture over to 7 mile beach one day to experience a bit more of the party scene, only to realize that we quickly wanted to return to Tensing Pen. If you want to get away to relax and enjoy soaking up the beauty of the island in a peaceful, romantic setting, then I definitely recommend this place!!

What to say, other than WOW. Our first time in Jamaica and we traveled all over the island. Stayed at all-inclusive places, boutique spots and everything in between. If you are looking for a first-class, great service, good food and amazing scenery, this is the place. I would recommend this hotel to every friend and family member that asks.
Walking into the bar/restaurant area and sitting down for lunch is probably one of the most memorable moments of my life. It's drop-dead postcard gorgeous. The entire property has this sort of magical feel to it. Very hard to describe.
We were on our honeymoon, and the staff here went above and beyond in so many ways. Our room was decorated with a personalized congrats banner and rose petals on the bed and a little bottle of Jamaican rum! I mean, what else can you ask for?
We have been all over the world, from Laguna Beach, CA to the Almalfi Coast of Italy, south beach Miami to Mykanos, Greece, nothing compares to Jamaica and Tensing Pen.
Big ups to Razor at the bar for the best pina colada's we have ever had, and the rest of the staff for being so warm and welcoming at every interaction. Also, not to mention, Kool Vybes jerk chick shack across the street was the BEST food we had on our entire stay.
This place is truly something special and I hope all the staff and other guests feel the same way.

First, I will say that the employees are top-notch and are willing to engage you in conversation as much as you would like, or equally give you as much privacy as you desire. The grounds and ocean front are beautiful. The beds were comfortable and the rooms very clean. Last year we stayed in the Long House, which was very nice but unfortunately is close to the road and therefore there is quite a bit of road noise, honking etc which definitely takes away from the peacefulness. This year we were in the North Pillar, which has no air conditioning, which is fine at this time of the year, not sure how I would like it later in spring/summer. Wish it had a king size bed but loved the outdoor shower. I found the food disappointing last year, but felt it better this year. The included breakfast is very basic, but adequate. The option to have your mini-fridge stocked with beer, soda, and water at very reasonable prices is a nice touch. Overall, it’s nice, rustic, and very relaxing. We will be back.

This was our first time staying at Tensing Pen we had had stayed at Catch Falling Star the last two years. I would have to say that Tensing Pen was a much better experience, we did enjoy Catcha but it seems there you are staying at a real nice restaurant not a beautiful resort with a great restaurant. Tensing had a much better cliff area to swim and bigger pool . The layout seemed much bigger and spread out so you seemed more secluded. I enjoyed jumping off the bridge and cliffs into water. The cliff area was more protected so the sea was calmer so you could enjoy the water more. The staff was great always friendly and always making sure you were taken care of they went the extra mile to make sure you were having a great time. The room we had was fantastic the bed was comfortable and the view was spectacular. I felt very relaxed and comfortable with my surroundings. We will be definitely be returning again.

What a super place to stay...we stayed for a week with friends, our first visit but we will all return hopefully next year.
The setting is pure peace and tranquility, the food delicious, the rooms (Coffee Rose 1 &2) where spacious with large comfortable beds, we had Coffee Rose 2 which was private with a partial ocean view, our friends had a full ocean view upstairs in CR1, both rooms where identical apart from the view.
As other people have mentioned, even when the hotel is full we still seemed to have the place to ourselves during the day due to the many different sun bathing terraces. Fresh towels daily, including pool towels are left in the room.
There are many authentic Jamaican restaurants within walking distance, two just across the road, Kool Vibes being our favourite, excellent Jerk Chicken and you must try their Festival, delicious.
All of the staff was attentive and went out of their way to be helpful, a special mention to Colleen and Trisanne who looked after us at breakfast, and where great fun too. Paul the lifeguard also stood out for us with his perfect Swan dive from the high rocks, what a lovely guy too. Not forgetting Gloria our housekeeper who was just lovely and unobtrusive, and a special lady.
Obviously this only leaves the Rhodesian Ridgeback Family...Tensing (crazy boy who comes bounding into the dining room like a horse!) Obi (a calmer version of Tensing), and sweet little Zuri. All very well behaved, calm, and relaxed just the best most gentle dogs ever.
We couldn't help but notice how many people we met who had been here many times before, once bitten forever smitten!

From the start, after booking, the email communication with the front desk was prompt, polite, and informative. Datanya, Alex, and Cristal were available to answer any questions about what I should bring and how I could book transport, etc.
When I arrived, I was told that when I leave, I would be part of the family. And this couldn't be more true. The staff is warm, friendly, and so much fun. Everyone wants to make sure that you're having the greatest time. Before you know it, you know everyone by name.
The property is absolutely breathtaking. The water is bright blue and clear. Jumping off the bridge and the rocks is a blast. We brought floats and just bobbed in the water for hours. When we lost our sunglasses jumping in, the lifeguard, Paul dove in and found them (more than twice).
The rooms are spacious and the staff keeps them spotless (tip well!). The AC is CRANKING and the water pressure is on point. The food is delicious and the drinks are fantastic (big ups Razor and Splinter!) I'm still dreaming about the parmesan-crusted snapper.
The only negative I thing I have to say is that I had to leave! I can't wait to go back!

By far the most exclusive and magical resort on the cliffs of Negril. Once you arrive you'll never want to leave. Perfect for honeymoons, or even a wedding! There are many paths that you can follow around the property which have amazing views of the ocean. Watch sunsets like no other you've ever seen! The restaurant is very nice and beautiful with open air tables and a great bar that overlooks the pool. The rooms are really cool and depending on the room you can have ocean front views and watch the boats come in taking people to Jack Sprats. There is a lot of snorkeling on the cliff side to enjoy. Just outside the gates of the resort you will find local dining spots and cool Jamaican vibes. We cannot wait to return!

You will absolutely love Sea Grape 2. Unobstructed views of the ocean and very quiet.
Sea Grape 2 is also close to the SeaSong hut and very secluded lounging areas for 2 (2 lounge chairs, umbrella and private cove entrance)
