First off, the property is GORGEOUS beyond. Every little nook has a delightful find! Like the stairs near the exercise area. I found the most enchanting, magical little cave in the stunning water. The views are unparalleled. The views from the 2 restaurants are just incredible. I am going to miss my own little private cliff. Just breathtaking. The spa is so charming. Had an amazing massage and a bath after. Please please please do not forget to get an appointment for the bath. Will be a magical memory forever. Also went to skylark - their sister property- for a day. Must do this. The sand is soooo soft. I’ve never experienced anything like it. And no shells. Just pure, clean, insanely soft sand. The water is clear and aqua. Just gorgeous. The hotel was cute. Nothing fancy. Plenty of places to find lunch on the beach. Now for the “bad stuff” - there is very little to do at Rockhouse and it’s not so safe to leave the property. The airport is 1.5 hours away. It’s pretty remote. You really have to be a person who likes to chill. No night life (a little music at pushcart restaurant). There are very few activities. I was perfectly content just enjoying the spa and views but some need more. My bathroom had bugs and critters. I was so anxious every time I went in. The food here is ok. Nothing fantastic. The staff is super friendly and warm. All in all I loved this place so much and highly recommend it with knowing what I said above.

Stayed for a week at Rockhouse on their great stay 5, get 2 nights free special. Rockhouse has been on our radar for years after reading a review in a travel magazine. After getting vaccinated, we were looking for a safe and easy getaway. Jamaica has a fairly straightforward entry policy and Rockhouse has an aggressive COVID mitigation policy, so off we went. We used the Club Mobay arrivals service and it was well worth the money to breeze through customs. On arrival, we were set up with Rockhouse’s WhatsApp which they use very efficiently for guest communication and general announcements. We stayed in room 27, one of the traditional hotel style rooms. The room was pleasantly minimalistic. No TV, but a nice outdoor shower (plenty private), balcony, and comfy queen bed. There’s small safe, adequate storage, and a handy USB charging hub. We used the AC the whole week (mostly due to humidity) and it did quite well. All in all, the room was everything needed but we would look for a villa on a return trip just for the cool factor. The pool area is the gathering place and the bar/grill serves up drinks and good eats (get the fish sandwich). There are plenty of lounge chairs both around the pool and scattered around the cliffs for more private days. There are multiple steps down to the ocean and the snorkeling is great right off the cliffs. The Rockhouse and Pushcart restaurants are on site, convenient, and serve up authentic Jamaican cuisine. What really sets Rockhouse apart is the dedicated and friendly staff. From grounds maintenance to management, everyone seems dedicated to ensuring a great stay. Suggestions: 1) Take the daily shuttle to the sister hotel, Skylark for a beach day. 2) Have the front desk arrange a car and driver for a morning drive to the countryside. 3) Participate in a visit to a Rockhouse Foundation sponsored school. 4) Have lunch at one of the nearby local restaurants. 5) Jump off a cliff!

Just returned from visiting this resort with a group of girlfriends for 4 dreamy nights, and absolutely everything about Rockhouse exceeded all expectations. The rooms, grounds, spa, and pool are beautiful and well-maintained. The food! The food was incredible — this is usually an area where resorts can falter because they just assume guests will eat at the resort for convenience, so they get lazy and the food often is subpar. Not here! Every single meal we had was absolutely delicious! The staff truly were a delight and felt like we left with a crowd of beautiful new friends: Bryan, Jamie, Shawn, Dexton, Derone, Felecia, Courtney, Sherikae (pronounced like “sherry kay”!), Giovanni… even Winston the cat! — thank you for a truly magical vacation. We can’t wait to come back!

It is often said that we may forget what people said or what they did - but we will never forget how they made us feel. That is exactly how we can even come close in describing The Rockhouse. Specifically referring to the most amazing staff. Of course the property is so special and like no other - there is so clearly a little bit of magic in the air. When you get there - you will feel it instantly :) Special shout out to Bryan and his team at the Pool Bar. They took such good care of us!! We already miss our conversations and fun filled days with each and every person we met that week. They became our family and friends for life. The warm, fun, hospitable, professional humans are without hesitation the heartbeat of the Rockhouse. We just booked our next stay - and we can’t wait!! We miss you all so much! One reviewer here said they were disappointed that they weren’t given a map of the property. I can assure you - you don’t need a map, just follow your heart, that’s all you need at Rockhouse 💚💛❤️ Xoxo

Stayed for 6 nights in a garden villa. Really liked the hotel. Quiet compared to the beach area downtown. Restaurants and room service are great. Happy hour pool bar amazing. We travel a lot and stay alot of five stars. This place was great, cute but not five star room. Shower had some issues. Faucet leaked in bathroom. Basic stuff. Didn’t make us not love our trip or not want to return. We will.

Fancy, boutique, high style living at its finest. Beautiful is an understatement. Cliffside villas where you can walk outside and jump off to swim in the ocean daily… say yes please!!! It is gorgeous and breathtaking. Restaurant, bar, chill spot, engagement wedding spot, infinity salt water pool, snorkeling if you please, I can’t say enough. Splurge a lil and come. It’s worth a once in a lifetime experience at this unforgettable place.

The Rockhouse is amazing. We went here for our honeymoon - it was very relaxing and unique. We enjoyed having our own hut and being able to jump in and snorkel/paddle board whenever we wanted. It was very quiet and romantic and the food was exceptional.

I booked a Spa treatment at the Rockhouse hotel as a birthday treat. Sasha and Sheila made the booking process really easy and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. I booked the massage and bathing ritual, choosing the release and rapture signature blend. We started with a welcome foot soak, followed by a relaxing massage. The bathing ritual was amazing, we were given a ginger shot and fruit to enjoy with a stunning view of the ocean. The treatment was finished with a quick face steam and a cup of cinnamon and honey tea. The attention to detail provided within the spa treatment was amazing, this truly is a hidden gem!!

Rockhouse is truly a hidden gem. Nestled in the cliffs, the views are spectacular - especially of the sunsets. Gorgeous secluded areas to be on your own (including your own villa patio overlooking the water) but also many fun spots to enjoy a happy hour libation with others. Villa 18 was specatular - close enough to pool and spa that you were situated nicely but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful at all hours. The people are so wonderful - warm and friendly. The spa massage tops any five star massage in NYC and LaToya in particular is so fabulous that I went back to her twice in one week! This is a must stay and there is no need to leave the resort except to go to the sister resort, Skylark, for a day on the beach and Miss Lily's restaurant.

Beautiful property. Wonderful snorkeling. Easy going. Room rates are not expensive, especially for a stay at this one of a kind resort and gem. Dinner at the main restaurant is a gorgeous experience. Salt water pool was a treat too. We have already returned since our visit in May 2022.
