Hotel's Favorite
Rockhouse is the closest place to perfection. It exceeded my expectations in every way. No matter where you stay, you are in for eye candy. And the staff is very friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights the beginning of March. First off we LOVED the Rockhouse roots and culture passport! While we didn’t complete all the stamps to get the prize, we did enjoy taking a ginger shot, tried a crazy cocktail, bought fruit from the fruit man, played dominoes, listened to vinyl, and our own personal favorites. I am keeping this passport for a future book I am making. Now let me explain how the food was delicious! The Rockhouse restaurant we ate at for breakfast, lunch and dinner and had unique and yummy vegetarian options for us as we TRY to eat that way. The pool bar restaurant was also delicious and has an amazing fish sandwich, highly recommend! Pushcart seemed to be the most authentic Jamaican spot from the jerk chicken to the music/atmosphere. We did a couples morning wake up package on the rocks which was the most beautiful, relaxing, spiritual experience. We started off with a gorgeous foot soak, hour massages and then a romantic Caribbean drench- which is basically a warm shower together in the cabana! The oils they use left our skin smelling great and looking & feeling so youthful. A MUST DO if you are a couple traveling! Also, the whole spa area is sooo relaxing, soul awakening and beautiful. The pool is also beautiful! We loved relaxing there in the morning and evening. The lounge chairs are comfortable and there’s plenty because the resort is small (which we wanted & loved). Yoga is amazing, highly recommend that, they also offer free yoga on Monday morning. Snorkeling is just an amazing experience and so colorful and beautiful. We didn’t do much of it because we are not the best swimmers, even still it was easy to do with the ease of the water. They have cooking lessons, painting, a open gym overlooking the water and other activities. No matter where you stay, it is beautiful. Everywhere you walk is gorgeous! I couldn’t stop taking pictures. The staff is so wonderful and thoughtful. One day they put a heart shape out of flowers on our bed. The whole grounds is clean and very well kept. The bath products are so natural that even my ultra sensitive skin loved them! There are virtually no TV’s anywhere which is fabulous so you can TRULY disconnect and focus on the picturesque views. I want to say thank you also to the great transportation service we used- Kenny’s tours. They are fast, friendly and the cars are very clean & nice. They are great to ask questions to and make the 90 minute ride easy. We LOVED JR- thank you! I highly recommend shopping across the street. She is so sweet & helpful. Also, my boyfriend bought swim trunks without trying them on and when we went to try them on later, he couldn’t fit them and we brought them back she found a size that fit for him without any problem. Also want to add that if you have the time, to take transportation to their sister hotel- Skylark. It’s a ten minute ride and well worth it. You can use their beach chairs and it’s on a great location on the 7 mile beach. The food at this hotel is amazing again!!!! And the hotel is new, super chic (kind of a Miami look) and great staff. Pros- everything, seriously! Small hotel, relaxing, the views, the food, the spa, the snorkeling, the staff, the location and again the beauty overall. Cons- nothing to me but to others, that it is not all inclusive (which would actually ruin the vibe and beauty) Thank you Rockhouse staff for your help, kindness and for allowing us to experience Jamaica in a authentic, relaxing way!

Now this is one of the places that looks exactly like the photos or even better. We love Jamaica and we might be coming back. PROS: stunning and unique location, I took a million photos, - beautiful design and decor, has a rustic yet luxurious feel to it, sunsets are to die for, lots to do, the staff is friendly, there are lot of nice touches such as Rockhouse passport, welcome drinks etc... The crowd was nice: chic couples in their 30s and 40s, no kids which is a major plus. It gets loud but only near the pool. The hotel took every precaution against mosquitos: the net, the spray, the coil...They definitely care about their guest. even the hotel boutique is nice, selling beautiful masks. CONS (none of them is a big deal): Service at the restaurants is very slow, the staff is nice but the food is really overpriced, try local joints instead but the restaurant has the best views...bathroom is a bit too small and not enough room on the sink. No coffee or tea facilities and no room to put any food in the fridge. Pool bar closes too early...Snorkelling is not so good but if it's your first time you will love it. There are not enough sockets. for a modern time traveller or someone who works on a vacation it's hard...charging two phones, two laptops and a camera would be hard.

We called and said we would eat at the bar since they had no available reservations. We ended up getting a great table and the food was good. The view is incredible. The fish was a little overcooked, but the atmosphere made up for that.
