Just returned home from “Home” early this am and here is MY two cents: The food is fine, but I’ll preface that by saying I go for the party and for the vibe-not the food. I’ve been to a high-end all inclusive in Mexico where the food was outstanding and I was in bed every night by 10pm. Also, my husband and I try to eat the way we do at home because the all-inclusive trap can be a slippery slope. I LOVE when places regularly include local fare in their choices and Hedo never disappoints-you can have Ackee and mackerel, steamed callaloo, okra, all the fresh Jamaican fruits and veggies you want. The jerk sauce is amazing. Harry-San NEVER disappoints! You can have a multi course meal if you choose to wait for table at Flame (also they were working on the rebuild still). The rooms-I don’t go there for the rooms but anytime I have had a problem I couldn’t deal with, we have gone to front desk and had our problem dealt with. I’m in my room to sleep and shower-other than that, there’s so much to do I just use my room to store my bags. For what I pay they are fine. I honestly don’t understand hitching about the cost as the whole way I finally decided on Hedo years ago was that Sandals and cruises were so expensive and seemed quite boring. The last time I stayed at a (vanilla) all-inclusive in Cancun I paid $700/night for a basic room. That being said, friends of ours did have premium rooms and had difficulty with getting beverages refilled (told there were “supply issues”)-well my employer has major supply issues here in the States. Our toilet had less than stellar pressure this stay, but it worked so we didn’t care. The entertainment: Oh. My. G. The entertainers are amazing! I have been in awe of them every night on every visit. They socialize with guests. Not only do they do their ( amazing) nightly shows, they also do their “time” at both the nude and prude pools. I will say we really really miss piano bar Dave, but luckily we had English Dave to keep us entertained. Every time I hear Winston or Shanoy (?sp) or Shanaya (?sp) sing (AND THEY DANCE TOO!), I’m both sad and excited that they haven’t been snatched up by major labels of some sort. The rest of them are equally amazing and have been every time we have come for the last 5 years. I would say check out the fetish show on Wednesday, but that would make it sound like every other night wasn’t fantastic! To add to it-everyone of them are SO. DARN. HOT. Like (censored by this platform) hot. They are seriously sexy! Last but not least, the staff ️️️ The bartenders run their asses off every day for the pool party (and a bunch of drunk people no less). I watched while someone ordered a drink and they ORDERED a drink if you know what I mean. I don’t let people talk to me meanly at work either. I love those ladies (and gentlemen). This past time, did have one bartender roll their eyes at me when I ordered a blended drink, same one did same thing to some people we were sitting with. The remainder of our interactions negate that night. Acknowledging how much you appreciate them goes a long way. I forgot a name necklace this time, they still remembered my name (and those of you that know me know I actually go by a few names). Everyone is a standout, but Shaun, James, Ojel, Paulette, Navardo, Diondra, Alycia, Chantel, Marlene, Michelle, Kethura, Nicole, Doreth, and Tawayne deserve a special shout-out If you go, please consider walking (or running or kayaking) 7 mile beach or even part of it. Seeing how bored all the other all-inclusive guests are will show you something. Also, the locals are awesome but quite a few WILL TRY to fleece you. Be smart. Still feel safer in JA than in Mexico. Also, beside the Tuesday am catamaran and Ricks sunset cruise are in full swing, but now they have the Jamaican Tiki party cruise! Please think about this as (we didn’t do it this visit) Blondie and her crew are some of the most fun you will see on the sea (see what I did there?). They have drinks, music, a stripper pole, dancers, and tons of fun! Additionally, kayaking to Booby Cay is a short, fun trip, and parasailing (extra cost) is great! We love it so much we will be back in one short month-and from Denver that is not a reasonable flight time, so that says something.…
