PROS: Just what you'd expect from a 5 star venue. So many things to do you barely have to leave the resort (unless you really want to). Food options are plenty. Staff in general are very kind and helpful. Tip: Ask the staff daily to find out what's going on because not all activities are obviously announced/displayed. Shout out to those who we felt a special bond with: ANTHONY (entertainment staff) who can always be seen dancing up a storm even when not performing. A show on his own, his moves are pro in many dance styles. He's multi talented (oh yeah and quite the cutie). Talk to him & make a new friend like we did *****. HANNA (welcomed us and a wealth of information) who was temporarily located here but her "home resort" is at Cozumel Palace location. Not only did she make us feel like we were VIP but also bubbling with charisma and was always looking out for us. Every time we'd walk the property we hoped to bump into her. We plan to go to Cozumel in 2025 and really hoping she'll be there. Dunns River Falls (where popular scenes from James Bond Dr. No was filmed) is a must excursion and is very close by, so no time lost in travel :) we went via catamaran and had a little snorkeling stop on the way. Also walking distance from the resort is the local craft market and souvenir shopping at Taj Mahal. For those who've heard about KFC being the best in the world it's also walking distance (but hope there's no lineup). Bob Marley museum in Kingston was also amazing and on the way you'll be educated about all sorts of interesting information & stop at some locations to get a history of Jamaica. Thx Steve (our tour guide).
CONS: for us there was really only one...very disappointed with the DJ at the Noir club, he was terrible (other vacationers even some staff agreed with this comment). He was actually annoying. This is often the only evening entertainment after 10pm so no late night partying which you would expect to do on vacation. Many others were seen walking around the property looking for something to do late a night because they'd walk into the Noir club expecting to "party all night", then walked out a few minutes later. He had a knack of emptying the dancefloor he's so bad. His mixing/transition from one song to another is anything but smooth, he doesn't play more than 15-20 seconds of a song and the song choices are repetitive. Just when you start getting into a beat, he's blasting some annoying sound effects and switching up the music genre. Oh yeah; and he often cuts the music completely to talk (and talks waaaay too much) but the audio is so bad/distorted, you can't even make out what he's saying.
All in all an excellent vacation :-)

Response from Palace Resorts M, Owner at Moon Palace Jamaica
Responded Oct 3, 2024
Dear Ms, SandyandGill, Thank you for your review! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and that the variety of activities, dining options and exceptional staff at the resort have contributed to making your holiday an unforgettable experience. We especially appreciate your kind mentions of Anthony and Hanna, it’s wonderful to know that they had such a positive impact during their visit. We will be sure to pass on your kind words. We sincerely regret that your experience at the Noir club did not meet your expectations. Your feedback on the DJ is valuable, and we will certainly see how we can improve the evening entertainment experience for future guests. Your feedback will help us continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of our service. Once again, thank you for your comments , and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. Best regards, Osiris Chavez, E-concierge Moon Palace Jamaica.

My boyfriend and I visited the exquisite Moon Palace Jamaica in January 2020, and wow what an amazing 8 days we had.
The food, in each of the vast variety of restaurants was delicious. Towards the end we even ended up ordering more than 1 of each course so that we could try everything they had to offer! We particularly enjoyed the Asian restaurant, we went here 3 times throughout the trip! And Pier 8, where you could dine with the sound of the sea in the background. There was one particular waiter in Pier 8, we didn’t catch his name unfortunately (I know he was wearing glasses!) but he was super attentive and chatty and seemed to really take an interest in us as guests which makes you feel so welcome!
The entertainment staff were incredible, Johnoy (Cocoa), Simone and Natalie in particular filled both the day times and evenings with laughter, fun and prizes of course!! They all knew us by name again adding to the welcoming feel of the resort.
Kerkel the lifeguard always made us feel welcome around the pool and beach, and never failed to say hello when he saw us around the resort, again he knew us all by name and made us feel part of the Moon Palace family!
Stacey-Ann... wow what can I say! Incredibly attentive, cannot do enough for the guests and an all round lovely member of staff! We made sure we were sat in Stacey-Ann’s section of the pool every day as she brought a real feeling of luxury, bringing us food and drinks along with making cocktails based on what she knew we liked. She remembered our orders everyday and is a fabulous attribute to the staff at Moon Palace!
The facilities were gorgeous, and incredibly clean (even the toilets around the pool area were impeccable). The room was left spotless every day, even our pyjamas were folded and placed back on the bed. And the bed itself was the comfiest bed we’ve ever slept in, and my goodness we had an incredible nights sleep every night! Even though our room looked out over the entertainment centre, the entertainment generally finished at about 10 every evening so there was never any issue with noise at all.
Definitely look into using the resort credit as well if you’ve booked. An amazing addition to the hotel which allows you to explore Jamaica in a safe way. We especially loved the excursion to Konoko Falls.
Complete luxury. Worth every single penny.
Everyone says “welcome home” when you arrive at Moon Palace and oh my goodness did we feel at home. We cannot wait to return!!

Just a wonderful time spent on a beautiful island, we loved the 7 nights we spent in paradise, the day we checked in was very rainy and but then it cleared up on the second day, we had some jerk chicken and corn on the beach and it was just awesome. The level of service displayed by the staff are astonishing, thanks to George and Kaci at the front desk very lovely individuals.
The resort was very well kept, bars and restaurants are phenomenal, food could be worked on, need more authentic Jamaican food.
The resort is a couple hours away from the airport, in mobay is where we flew in and we also did club mobay which was very helpful in our arrival process.
Helpful tip: download the palace app so you can know what is going on during your stay, and also keep track of your charges, very helpful.

Dear DLenier, Thank you for making Moon Palace Jamaica your vacation destination! We are honored to have been selected and highly appreciate that you took the time to share your feedback. Without a doubt, it makes us happy to know that you had the opportunity to experience the superior level of hospitality that we offer as well as enjoy our authentic Jerk chicken and corn dish. We will be sure to thank Kaci and George for their excellent execution along with sharing your general food comments with our Executive Chef so that we can capitalize on this area for the increased guest satisfaction. We equally thank you for highlighting the usefulness of Club Mobay and our Palace Resorts App. Indeed the App provides our guests with detailed information on our spa menu, resort credits usage, restaurants, entertainment, billing and more at their convenience as well as allows them the opportunity to preschedule some of their activities as desired. Whilst we are always seeking to perfect our awe-inclusive service, we do hope that you will return to our paradise haven as it will be our pleasure to provide you with more outstanding luxury experiences. Looking for a secluded location to handle endless days of Zoom calls while celebrating my 40th birthday I decided to take Moon Palace Jamaica up on their buy a week and get one free offer.
The resort is all that you'd expect of an all-inclusive but what sets this place apart is the service.
They take excellent care of you as soon as you step off the shuttle. There are a few Covid hoops to jumo through but they make it painless.
Roshin at the 24 hr coffee bar takes excellent care in preparation as he cares for guests. He even wrote me a Happy Birthday greeting in this mornings latte. Franz at the Piano Bar ran to the room service kitchen in search of some vanilla extract to make a Nilla Waffer cocktail I had googled on my way into the martini bar. Rowan and Rajnea take excellent care of me at the beach running for towels and pretty drinks with umbrellas in them. Karen and Njari are excellent massage therapists and the thermal spa is amazing. Even if Covid has the sauna and steam rooms out of commission for the time being.
Then tonight I celebrated my 40th birthday in the Pier 8 restaurant watching the sunset over Ocho Rios Bay to a glass of Bruichladdich Scotch (I brought myself) and a perfectly cooked cowboy steak from the kitchen. After the meal I asked if they could make a latte here in this beach front restaurant. My server Kevin said no, paused for a moment and said "let me run up to the coffee bar if you have time."
He gave me an elbow bump (the covid fist-bump) and off he ran... 200 yards to the main building and up a flight of stairs to the coffee bar. The thing is... I didnt tell him it was my birthday. This is just the way they treat and honor their guests.
I can't say enough good things about the culture and service of the Moon Palace Jamaica. I will certainly be back.

The first thing I would like to say is that the staff have, even in the time of COVID 19, made us feel safe and secure. We have already had COVID 19 so we understand and comply with all of the actions that have been requested. We absolutely do not want to pass anything on indirectly.
The second thing is that all of the staff have been incredible, they have been professional, and polite while also showing their human side with open friendship and kindness. This we thank them all for.
I have had time to speak to the Ground Staff, the Pool Maintenance staff, these parts of the team are sometimes sadly ignored by guests yet they make the environment worth being in ! Sadly I didn't catch their names but please pass on my thanks and appreciation.
We didn't get round to getting names on our first day but we are trying to ensure we take notes.
First I would like to thank the lady who cleans our room, as I say we have children ! It's always clean and tidy after our day in the sun. I think it's Lydia but this may be wrong.
I would like to now add a series of names that I've had chance to note down, this does not mean the other members of the team were in any way deficient ! Rather, it is my deficiency in not noting names down.
Pool Side service
Santana,
Denzil (I think this might be incorrect)
Althea,
Rowan
Buccaneer Restaurant
Samantha (remembering Stephanies Blue Cheese Allergy )
Shockeil,
Junior,
Roshlail
The Tall lady who I think runs the outside area, must try to get her name tomorrow !
Momo Restaurant
Sojay, especially due to my poor hearing I thought was Jose' !
Chef Orlando (WOW brilliant food !)
Dwayne and the rest of the team for singing to us on our anniversary.
Pier 8
Coriolana (Spelling sorry!), my partner had to leave as our young lad was almost falling asleep and she understood.
Kids Club
Jamie has had a fantastic time there and the Ladies there cherish him so please pass on our appreciation for what they do, especially in these times.
The Romantic Dinner on the Beach Team
Andrew and his team provided us with the chance to have a fantastic meal on the beach as the sun went down
The Piano Bar
Whitney made a wide selection of cocktails after asking what kinds of things we like, all of them spot on!
The Lobby Bar
Sabrina who understood my confusion due to fatigue.
The Wedding Team
Last but not least ALL of the Wedding Team who will be getting us married, checking the documentation, asking what we would like on our day and doing some of this from a distance. It will be a great day due to the team.
One technical aspect which I think is a very good aspect is that the wrist bands have an RFID which allows your room to be unlocked so no need to carry a 'key'.
The entire staff have been fantastic, come here, feel safe, relax and be prepared to add extra holes to your belt like I have.

In November we spent 2 weeks at Moon Palace Jamaica. This is a great resort in Ocho Rios, the staff is fantastic and the food was great! The pool activates staff was great Yahshawn and Khaleel even did an impromptu water aerobics for us! The spa staff was wonderful,l I got an outstanding back massage from Simone and a refreshing coffee wrap from Diana. The Boulangerie (coffee shop) is great and open 24hrs! Joseph and Clement make the best crepes!!! There are basically two Italian restaurants at the resort, a more casual restaurant on the pier (Sundeck) and more formal restaurant in the main building (Gondola). Keven ‘from heaven’ at the Sundeck made us feel like family. Corey, Revon and Bryan at Gondola never made us want for anything. One really nice breakfast option is to go to Pier 8 where it is à la carte instead of buffet. Tenielle, our waitress at Pier 8 was wonderful and such a delight in the morning. I would also like to give a thank you to Veronica and Tressan (concierge and PVP) for helping us make our stay special. There is however one down side of the resort location, if you try to walk into town the locals are waiting right outside the hotel gates for the hotel guest to leave and then start harassing you as soon as you leave the property because of this I would not recommend walking into town to go shopping.

The Moon Palace is a fine all inclusive. It’s nothing to rave about but overall my family had a nice vacation. The food was sub par, it was so crowded I struggled to find a seat, and in the evenings there was little to do. My daughter (20) got hit on a decent amount. Nothing too crazy but I could tell it made her a bit uncomfortable. The beach was small and there were so many boats directly outside of the swimming area. On the plus side the pool was very nice and the bartenders/servers were attentive. Wristbands are worn by guests to signify age (they enforce the 18 drinking age well), status (elite membership does not seem to have too many advantages), and include room key. The room key in the wristband was a genius idea so that people did not need to carry around bags or wallets! The snorkeling reef right outside the property was beautiful, however, the onsite snorkeling trip is meant for children or beginners because it goes more over the basics. For kids, this resort had cool activities including a water slide, contests, and a teen club. The flow rider was also neat to try or just to watch. Overall, I think this is a fine all inclusive. Yes, there are better. But if this is what your family wants to do go for it!

Let me be brutally honest!!1 The positives, food fantastic in buffet, restaurant, snack bars etc, fantastic coffee shop open 24 hrs a day along with great room service (all inclusive too). Pool area was superb, plenty of space, plenty of loungers, 2 swim up bars, beach just a few yards away with clean sand and beautiful clear sea. Activities with also fantastic, including the amusement arcade where all the video games are free of charge, excellent. Big thank you to pool staff Glenroy and Vernon, very polite, pleasant and extremely helpful. The pool Barman Joshean was also fantastic, I was ill for the last 4 days (no fault of hotel) and Joshean looked after my wife and little girl making sure they were ok when I went back to the room on numerous occasions. As for the rest of the staff, not all good sadly as 50% were superb, cheerful and very helpful, others however need to go back to training school.
The Negatives!! waiters in the restaurants were poor most of the time, and after being seated you could be waiting up to 20 mins for a drink before it arrived, this happened in most restaurants, the waiters in the buffet were far better trained, quick and efficient. The worst I found were the reception staff, miserable and rude, considering these are front of house these need to put a smile on their faces!!1
I have traveled all over the world, but to hold your room over here is the most expensive I have ever seen, I wanted to hold my room over from 12 noon to 2pm to allow me to medicate in private, cost $120, if I wanted the room till 10pm cost $120, how does that work/
Reception staff were totally un-flexible with this request, I was more than happy to pay but felt this rate for 2 hours was scandalous!!! after 15 or 20 minutes of arguing the manager decided to give me the room free of charge, yet 20 mins of asking for a reduced rate fell on deaf ears.
Beautiful location, beautiful hotel but would I go back? Yes but not for no where near the price I paid, far better value elsewhere.

Dear drees362, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are elated that you had enjoyed your overall visit particularly our Wired Lounge, crystal clear beach and pool services hence, we will congratulate those whom you have mentioned for their excellent contribution. We are however, saddened that your shared experience at our restaurants was subpar and will be guided by your comments during our continued training. In retrospect of your mentioned encounter with our Front Desk Team, please allow us to kindly share that all late check-out is subject to availability and will incur a standard cost as indicated during the check-in process and on the Resort Key provided. This is same as was expressed by our team. In light of further discussion and as a humanitarian gesture the request was extended complimentary. Our family thanks you for making it Moon Palace Jamaica and trust that should you return to our resort we will be able to provide you with a more thoroughly enjoyed experience. Kind regards, Erol Lingo General Manager Moon Palace Jamaica

We had booked this holiday and resort for my Birthday and I had a truly amazing holiday. The resort itself is great with a variety of restaurants, pools and activities to partake in. Being on the beach itself was also a plus for us as taking a dip in the Caribbean blue sea is a must. The location of the resort itself is great as there are shops and local vendors not so far from the resort. What made the holiday even more memorable was the staff.
Everyday on the beach Shaun our beach butler took good care of us from drinks to food and always with a smile on his face. He worked exceptionally hard in the heat and every one on that section of the beach loved him, with his polite manners and his chats where he made the effort to get to know everyone and their needs.
Simone was my spa therapist at the Awe Spa where I had the Hot Stone Massage. She was very attentive it has been one of the best massages I have had – 80 Minutes if Bliss. The Hydrotherapy Journey before the spa treatment was great but a little rushed as there were allot of people and it’s a shame that you cannot have this experience unless you are booking a treatment (unless you pay for it.) Also It would have been nice if you could have just used the spa facilities at any given time rather than restricting it for use while you had a treatment booked or if you paid for the service.
Akeem in entertainment was very entertaining and bought about a great energy to the place. He made time and effort to talk to and get to know everyone. His performance on stage was amazing and he and his team are remarkably talented Dancers, Singers and performers
Chef Shaun at Momo’s restarant was great too. We had booked the Hibachi table for my birthday and he truly made it a memorable night. He made us laugh a lot and even allowed me to join him at the table to try a few cooking tricks.
As I also work in the travel industry Judy-lee and Saj took time out to give me a guided inspection of the hotel and walk me through the whole resort. They were very attentive and were able to answer all my questions
Our holiday overall at the Moon Palace was amazing and my birthday was celebrated in almost every restaurant with cake and the staff singing for me. I also had a cake delivered to my room with Sparkling wine.

Dear Divya G, What an amazing way to celebrate your birthday! We firstly thank you for your selection our resort for this special commemoration and express our delight in knowing that we were the host of this marvelous island experience. As a team, we take joy in learning that you were not disappointed and highly appreciate that you have highlighted each collaborator who assisted in making your time with us truly memorable; they will be congratulated. Indeed, a reservation is required for the general use of the spa hydrotherapy circuit which is a time-sensitive activity. Hence, each aspect of the process requires keen timing for the health and safety of our esteemed guests. In light of your comments, we will however, review with our Spa Team to identify ways in which we can enhance this process regardless of the number of guests using the facility. We thank you once more for your visit and also for your time expended in publishing this five-star review. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you to other delightful Palace experiences as well as your patronage in the near future. Kind regards, ERol Lingo General Manager Moon Palace Jamaica
