With covid, everyone has staffing issues, so I am not going to rate that. Everyone was friendly but not very informative. A lot of things were misunderstood or they didn't know. Don't ask to see the nurse it is a 250$ service charge. Take plenty of clothes or hand was as it is like $6 a shirt to wash and fold. Cruise ships are cheaper. Want a cab, you have to get one through the hotel and pay like 40$ and up to go out and come back. Food, ehhhh, we have had better but that wasn't that worst. The worst was the times and places to eat. Make sure you make your reservations super early, as you may not get in to the restaurants that are better. We didn't get into the french restaurant and it was rumored to be the best of them all. Hot dogs were not good and were heavy with fake smoke flavoring, hamburgers were not good, potatoes skins were bland and nothing on them, pizza was good, salad dressings tasted like sweet mayo, buffalo drums and the pasta pearls (can't remember the name) were fantastic, fish was decent, beef was gamey, chicken was always good, breakfast was always great, onsite Jamaican beef patties were just ok, Juci Patties was WAY better, ice cream was great but only available during lunch hours, charcuterie board was awful(meat was fat with some specs of ham and a joke, Cheeses and fruit were good. Salad good without the dressing, tomato soup was the worst we ever had, callaloo pastry was great, milk was odd, coffee was great and the specialty fresh juices and drinks were good but I'm not a drinker so they saved money there. Now, with all that said, I like that they give you small portions as I hate to waste food and don't eat huge plates. I do wish they had something like PB&J's on the room service menu. The beauty of the place was fantastic. It was well spaced and comfortable, Unlike a cruise or hotels. There was a lot to do and see and it was so beautiful and laid back. The hidden pool was my favorite spot. It was quiet and I could listen to the birds chirping. We didn't do any shows as we were either tired from excursions and sun or we dined late and missed them. We only caught one on black and white night. They had a fabulous singer there. The bars were all cool and I recommend visiting them all. The speakeasy was very quant and fun. They had another fabulous singer there as well.

Hotel's Favorite
My husband and I visited this Sandals resort for the first time in April 2018, after having vacationed at the Royal Bahamian in Nassau, Bahamas twice, and falling in love with Sandals. We had an absolute blast at Sandals Ochi, and the resort grounds were beautiful and the staff were superb. We stayed on the Riviera, or Beachside, with a stunning view of the beautiful Caribbean waters and mesmerizing sunsets, in a Butler suite for 4 days, and then on the Hillside in a Butler suite for the remaining 3 days of our trip. This resort was perfect for us, as we love being active and social. There is always something going on, with so much entertainment, even poolside. One of our favorite nights is Beach Carnival night. The restaurants and food on the resort are exquitisit, as is our experience thus far at all Sandals Resorts that we have visited. In our opinion, you can't really go wrong with Sandals! We met so very many wonderful people from everywhere, including the awesome resort staff. The very next April (2019) we made a return visit to Ochi to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We again, LOVED EVERY MINUTE of our 7 days there, and we have another trip booked. If you are looking for an exciting, fun and entertaining resort, this is the place. While there, a visit to Dunn River Falls is a must. (if you are in good shape and/or not fearful to hike)

We came to Ochi for a week to celebrate my birthday and our Anniversary and had a great time. Specials thanks to... Miguel our amazing cabana butler. He was a true depiction of the sandals brand. It would be great if he was part of the butler team that would make us book a butler room on our next visit. Tenneile at the concierge desk for handling all of our reservations. Iran, Laurie and the rest of the seaside concierge team for making us feel special by decorating our door and leaving us that amazing cake Delvene and Jody Ann from the spa team for amazing beachfront couples massages and an awesome body scrub and wrap experience. Any problem that we ran into was quickly corrected and every person we crossed paths with was friendly. has your toilet ever broke unexpectedly at your home? Well same thing can happen at a resort. Resort was safe and following all Covid protocols. Return test scheduled for you with instant results. Do your research and you won’t be disappointed. Yes the resort is 1.5 hrs from the airport. Yes the resort is huge and consist of a hill and beach side! We are beach people so That’s were we spent our time. Also there are cottages on the beachside so not all the beachside rooms are “hotel” rooms. Yes you need to pay service charges on extras such as spa services...again info that is available if you read the special conditions on your credits.

Overall my wife and I have a good experience. We went to Sandals Ochi for my son's wedding. The wedding was beautiful but there were a couple of hitches like the wedding gown was supposed to be steamed free of wrinkles before the wedding but when they delivered the dress just minutes before the wedding, it had never been steamed at all and the wedding had to be delayed for an hour. Other than the wedding the food was great, the location and resort itself were very nicely maintained. Our biggest complaint was that we were put into the wrong room, we paid for a room with a balcony but got a room without. The employee who took us the this room said that a mistake had been made and that we would be reimbursed $200 for the mix-up. Later than evening, the manager over that department called me and told me that she was going to give me the first night free because of the mistake but when I went into the office the next day, I was told that no one ever promised a free room or even $200 off and that the best I could get was $59. I told them that was not satisfactory since we were told not to unpack our bags for the first night because they would move us but they didn't move us to the right room until the next day. The manager of that dept. then offered me $50 in Sandals credit on top of the $59 she had offered just before that which I accepted b/c I was getting tired of messing with the whole thing but when I went to check out, they had never given me the $50 Sandals credit I had been promised and they had charged me for the $50 worth of t-shirts and things I had gotten assuming that Sandals was good for its word. The $50 itself isn't a big deal but being lied to numerous times about the situation is a big deal to me. This was my first stay at a Sandals and I will probably give them 1 more try in the future. I think that they are struggling right now trying to train all of their new employees. At least, I hope that is the problem.
