It took us a while to write this review as there were no words to describe our experiences at the Jamaica Inn. Immediately upon check-in I knew we were in great hands with Kingsley and the wonderful staff at the front desk. Everything we needed, was provided, every whim, every wish we had the Jamaica Inn delivered. Never have we ever been to such a beautiful and serene paradise. We loved Room 17 so much that we extended our stay. I know that we both never wanted to leave. Marvin on the beach, Sadie taking care of our room and personal needs, Sheldon with virtually anything we asked for were the epitome of graciousness. All staff and I mean everyone made us feel at home. Upon check out I burst into tears and immediately booked our return trip in November. Let me tell you, we cannot wait. Thanks to everyone at the Jamaica Inn. We love y'all!!!

I am excited but also hesitant to write this review for Jamaica Inn because on one hand, they are AMAZING and deserve this review, but on the other hand, I wish I could keep this place secret for myself! If you are looking for a beautiful, luxurious resort that is private and quiet but also treats you like royalty and family at the same time, this place is it. My two sisters and I stayed for a sisters vacation for a week and it felt like it was our own private resort. We stayed in Cottage 6, and we had our own private entrance into the ocean through a stairway, and our own private little pool overlooking the ocean. The ocean entrance was AMAZING for us snorkelers and we spent almost 30 hours in total snorkeling straight off our balcony, where we saw rays, puffer fish, eels, conches, crabs, and assorted other tropical fish. The pool was plenty big enough for us three to chill after swimming in the ocean, and our cottage was spacious, beautiful, and comfortable with AC in the bedrooms. Heads up that there is no AC in the main living areas, though! Just ceiling fans, though we spent our days outside mostly anyway, so it didn't bother us. Even the resort beach felt mostly empty and very quiet. The resort is very eco conscious, which we love, and on one day, we even got to witness them transporting some sea turtle eggs to their private beach to keep them safe so they could hatch safely. They welcomed us guests to watch and educated us about how they protect the sea turtles, and we even got to hold an egg! (Thank you so much, Ovan!)They also hold hatchings/releases for the guests, though we weren't lucky enough to be there during one. On to the service: in a word, perfection. It's a small, friendly staff at this resort, where they all learn who your names and you will learn theirs. Kinsley at the front desk helped us book all the excursions we wanted. No one ever told us no, just helped us figure out how to get there. We had private transportation everywhere we went and were almost always the first ones to a place so we had the place to ourselves (Dunn's falls, Blue hole, shopping at the marketplace, etc.). They even have their own private boat that can take you out to snorkel at the fish sanctuary nearby, and Captains Tony and Gary were wonderful! The housekeeping and pool staff is always conscientious, friendly, and detail oriented (Thank you, KK, Beverly, and Marvin!). The food and bar service is just as exceptional (thanks to Stretch, Jason, and David!), and I highly recommend their pina coladas. And the food itself? DELICIOUS, and a mix of options we are used to and some local delicacies!!! We did not do the all inclusive option because we found in our first couple days that we weren't spending enough to make it worth it. We loved how much space and privacy we had, unlike the more crowded resorts in the area. We were so devastated when we had to go at the end of our trip, and we totally understand why every other guest we talked to had already stayed there several times. What a retreat!

Dear Lisa M, We are so delighted that you and your sisters had such an amazing time here at the Jamaica Inn. Cottage 6 is a perfect pick right there on the bluff with a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea and your own private steps which takes you directly into the water where you could have snorkeled for almost 30 hours during your stay. We will be sure to share your review with the Team, especially those you have made mention of. Thank you for sharing and for recommending the Inn to those travelers who are looking for somewhere that is quiet, peaceful and gives excellent service. We look forward to welcoming you again in the not too distant future. Regards, Sherlene Hickling Guest Services

After a very stressful and long year, I started researching for the perfect place to unwind and recharge. But it had to meet a certain criteria: in the Caribbean but easily accessible, oceanfront with lounge chairs already on the beach, a nice spa, and a beautiful beach. And not crazy expensive. I was looking for a beach unicorn. After doing a couple of online searches, I remembered I still had my Travel and Leisure magazine issue with the Best of the Best list for 2021. I went to the Caribbean section, and one by one, I went down the top 25 best Caribbean hotels. Cross checking room rates, airfare, amenities, etc. Number 8, Jamaica Inn, caught my attention but I wanted to be thorough. So I continued and finished the whole list. I went back to my top 3 visiting their websites and reading online reviews. The choice was obvious: the Jamaica Inn was my winner. It didn’t disappoint. The property was absolutely beautiful. Intimate and romantic. The attention to detail in all aspects, impressive. But the best part was the incredible staff. Every single person we encountered was kind, helpful, courteous and always with a smile. They made us feel so welcomed! A big shout out to Winston, Marvin, Patrice, J. Patrick, Romo, Mr. Taylor, Kenneth, Yolanda, Sheree, Ovan, Kyle and rest of the staff. Truly, I’ve never encounter anything like this. And of course, I can’t forget Shadow, the sweet black lab who is the resident puppy. Asides from the wonderful staff, fantastic views, incredible spa and lovely activities (most of them complimentary like yoga classes, tea time and rum tasting), the Jamaica Inn is dedicated to protecting the Hawksbill turtles and preserving their coral reefs. A program they initiated and fund. Unbelievably Impressive. This is was by far, the best vacation we’ve ever had. I cannot wait to get back! 💜💜💜

I first visited this amazingly peaceful sanctuary in the late 90’s on a business trip. As I was planning this long overdue vacation, after days of sifting the internet. various properties on different islands “Not close enough to the beach!” “To big a resort!” I realized I was measuring everything against my past visits to The Jamaica Inn. Done. The moment you step onto the property you are transported to a paradise that knows no time. Is it 2020? Or 1960? It really doesn’t matter. Both trips I stayed in a ground level Veranda Suite. The room, while while not large, is comfortable. The veranda justifies the “suite” in the description. A living room set, a table and chairs for meals, a desk and a small fridge bring your living space to the outdoors. The resident dog, Shadow, would make a morning visit while I read or finished breakfast. She raced me to the beach for a swim and checked on me periodically throughout the day. Although they were above 70% occupancy during my 7 days, outside of dinner, I never saw more than 4 -5 guests at any given time. The staff was beyond courteous and professional yet they all seemed relaxed and authentically comfortable. I felt like I was a guest in their home. I met folks who’ve worked there 20, 30 years. I met two folks who have been there 50 years! I don’t think everyone should go to this special place. I really don’t. If you want a party atmosphere, you should go elsewhere and enjoy yourself. No judgement. There are NO JELLO SHOTS at the Jamaica Inn. No TV (good Wi-Fi). There IS peace. There is TRANQUILITY. There is LAUGHTER. I LOVE this portal to personal peacefulness. It loved me back. Please don’t go to The Jamaica Inn unless you seek a respite. Churchill stayed here for crying out loud. I’m not sure WHAT that means, but I get a kick out of it. I plan to return there every chance I get.

There are very few words that I could use to accurately describe how amazing Jamaica Inn is- but I will try! My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. After researching Jamaican hotels for almost a year and settling on Jamaica Inn we couldn't be more certain of the right choice that we made. The combination of old world charm, comfort, luxury and friendliness of the staff made it the best place we've stayed anywhere in the world - and we have done a lot of traveling! The food was absolutely delicious! I am allergic to dairy and never once did I worry about it. I only had to mention it at the beginning and then the staff all knew about my allergy as did the chef and they made sure everything I ate was dairy-free! Garfield at the restaurant was so wonderful! We stayed in Cottage 7 - could NOT recommend it more. One bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms with your own private infinity pool and steps in to the crystal clear Caribbean. The bedroom is on the second floor so the views are breathtaking. There is even a shower outdoor on the balcony which we used everyday! We got our breakfast served at the cottage to eat it with the beautiful view! The 700' of private beach is more heaven on earth! Peaceful, clean, beautiful! They have the sweetest employees (Marvin, Albert, Winston, Christopher) on the beach ready to set up your lounge chairs for you or take you out on a Catamaran or set you up with a paddle board or kayak at any time you want! Teddy's beach bar is so wonderful and fun - drinks any time you'd like them there or delivered to your lounge chair! Jevaughn and Patrick were the most fun and taught us how to play croquet- which we did everyday! Lunch can be delivered to your lounge chair as well or eaten at the tables on the sand or up at the Shanty restaurant - all with gorgeous views of the water and impeccable service. The staff was another level of service- always with a smile, ready to take care of anything we needed. We got to know most of them quickly, learn their stories and how long they had been working there (most were 10 years+!) and always shared a laugh with them. Kingsley, Sherlene, Tressann, David, Alvin, Adrian etc- were all just the best! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. We will return again and again, as many times as we can, for years to come! GO! You will not regret choosing Jamaica Inn.

Dear Jenna C, It was a delight to welcome you to our little piece of paradise here at the Jamaica Inn. Your year's research was worth it for this your special 10th wedding anniversary. You have made the right choice of cottage 7 with that breathtaking view anywhere you are in the cottage. We will be sure to share your review with the amazing team who provided such wonderful service, especially those who were there to set up your beach chairs daily, delivered lunch and drink or just teaching you how to play a game of croquet. I love Jamaica Inn, I love everything about it, it’s history, it’s laid back character; it’s one classy resort. The beach is a Caribbean dream, beautiful sand with warm blue seas (of course). The rooms are on the small size but your outdoor sitting area makes up for the lack of bedroom space. Bathrooms also small. For whatever reason on our visit this time the food wasn’t that great. Pretty hit or miss. Chef Maurice really needs to get his staff up to scratch fast as some dishes were bordering on the inedible. The pizzas for lunch on the beach were good, and gala dinner well worth it with sumptuous beef perfectly cooked - compliments to that chef. I truly believe what sets this resort apart from all others are the staff. Without exception they are all so friendly, personable, efficient and the kind of guys you want to hug forever. Patrice is my girl, Carter the singing waiter is fabulous and Palmer is an exquisite cocktail shaker. But my new number one guy is Charley, a true asset to the team, a man with a future I sense. No doubt we will return, it really is home from home. Oh, as a postscript: an awful lot of ONE love goes to Gerry in reservations who made our holiday in every possible way.

Our first vacation in three years and we couldn’t have picked a better place! I’ll start by saying that I did a deep dive into the reviews of previous guests who had stayed at the Inn…their description of the service and hospitality of the staff were absolutely spot on to our experience! I’ve never been made to feel so at home while simply relaxing on a quiet beach in the middle of absolute paradise! Literally from the moment you’re greeted at the airport, until your final goodbyes to all the new friends you made during your stay…everything is taken care of for you to the point that you just have to wake up, walk to breakfast (fresh fruit from the island and blue mountain coffee) then walk down to the beach and partake in the many complimentary activities the Inn has to offer (sunfish, hobie cat, paddle boards, sea kayaks and snorkeling) or just relax under an umbrella and let the amazing staff serve you their famous dirty banana or pina colada or lunch from the beachside grill (highly recommend the pizzas!) From there it’s up to the veranda for complimentary tea time at 4pm and slowly work your way towards dinner. We ate almost every meal at the Inn during our 8 night stay (we opted to charge to the room for means and such rather than do the meal plan and found it to be quite reasonable despite us literally eating 4 times a day and having red stripes and frozen drinks while relaxing on the beach. We did go for walks off the property at night after dinner and felt completely safe. We left our things on our beach chairs while we went to our room or went to the beach bar for lunch…safe as houses. If you’re looking for 5 star service and accommodations in Jamaica, the Inn is your spot! Peaceful, quiet and charming! We will absolutely be back for another visit hopefully before the end of the year!

As a long time repeat visitor, and after an almost 3 year hiatus due to COVID restrictions, the anticipation of returning to our haven of beautiful welcoming smiles, old world tropical luxury, superior service, and food when you want it, anywhere you wish to have it, was just what we needed. We loved the new additions. A definite new favourite was daily lunch under the gorgeous Almond Tree on the beach. Lots of delicious choices from the new wood oven pizza and beach bar grill. If you so choose, there are many other options available created by the talented Chef Maurice! All of the long time staff are as wonderful as ever, and go out of their way to take care of you, whether it is the beach crew, beach bar team, housekeeping, front desk, terrace dining room and bar, reservationists, or the full Management Team led by General Manager Kyle Mais. They all really care and truly appreciate your visit. I will mention that these are standards and traditions long carried on by the Morrow Family the original owners and operators of Jamaica Inn who created this gem. We had so many “Welcome Home” hugs and best wishes when we arrived, that a couple we met actually thought we were part of the Inn. I had to explain that this was the way they greeted all of their returning guests. They were so impressed. There is no other place like Jamaica Inn. It is the best kept secret with an ever interesting historic past. We feel so privileged to be there, and almost have to pinch ourselves every morning as we watch the sun rise from our beach front veranda with fresh brewed Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee in hand, and sometimes greeted by a loving visitor Shadow the gorgeous resident pup. We had a short week of pure bliss on the beach, and are already counting the days for a longer return visit later this year.

Dear Granddamme, Covid had certainly put a pause in our lives and now it is such a delight to welcome our guests once more to the place that have become 'home away from home" for many. We will agree with you that the Teddy's Beach Grill has become a favourite lunch time spot right there on the beach and of course for dinner on the opening nights with the various menu choices for guests to choose from. We will be certain to share your review with the team as you have taken the time to share so that other travelers will know that the Jamaica Inn is the best kept secret place to be. We look forward to welcoming you home again later in the year. Best wishes, Sherlene Hickling Guest Services

13 days, 12 nights - barely left the premises and felt no need to. Everything you need is at your fingertips, or a room service call away. There are no transactional gratuities. If the spirit moves you (as it will), you can leave a lump sum with the front desk on the way out and it is divided among all the staff. We arrived exhausted and left refreshed. You just cannot beat it.
