I don’t know where to start . Me and my wife been in every all inclusive resort in jamaica . My wife is Jamaican and we always try to get the nicest resorts. We discovered that the whole country it doesn’t have any clue what customer service is about ? The people who the write reviews are drunk and passed out and clueless because the go to the resorts to drink for free. The secrets is garbage. I paid 1000$ us a night . The buffet is eggs and fruits . The Italian restaurant has 4 pasta dishes and no meat . The Japanese restaurant run out of shrimp. And there is no one come to the beach to take an order. Do ur self a favor and stay away
My trip was a gift to celebrate my 50th birthday. It started off rocky when we were asked to sign a "no smoking policy that was about microscopic and no one was willing to enlarge it or give us a copy. What I was able to make out said more than just no smoking, which i had no problem with, nor that if we vandalized the room we would be liable. We were fine with this because we did not intend to do either. But I was really worried after what should have been a simple request to get a copy or have it made more legible was denied. I actually said, "I hope i did not make a mistake picking this place." I was assured I didn't but I hate to say it but I did! The only reason i am giving the resort three stars is because we did encounter some really great service. Matthew one of the bellmen was an absolute pleasure! Funny upbeat and very helpful!! Thanks to him i checked my COVID test paperwork and saw that there was an error made!!! The wrong birthdate was typed in! Then there was another server i think his name is Daniel (He wears a cowboy hat) HE WAS THE EPITOME OF EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!! Friendly, helpful and just amazing. We forgot to bring cash for additional tipping and he said it's about making sure you have a great time here! Then the lady that delivered my champagne breakfast was also very sweet and sang to me as well!!! THEY SAVED THE RESORT FROM THE 2 stars I wanted to give them. Unfortunately…
The food throughout the resort wasn’t that good and the reservations for the hibachi were almost impossible to get. If you get the ocean front king room, there is a blinking light above the bed which is VERY annoying so I’d recommend covering it or moving to a different room. Overall this resort is good for couples, but other than that there’s no real “turn up” for a guys trip or girls trip in my opinion.
We celebrated our 23rd Anniversary. The resort is great, lots of things to do in the resort. Staff was awesome. A big thank you to Runique who made our stay awesome. He took care of all our needs. We enjoyed the private hot tub on the balcony and the view was amazing. I do wish they had more authentic Jamaican food.
Visited Secrets St.James and received some of the best customer service ever while being on vacation. Starting with Jamal and crew as the welcoming committee. They took a lot of pride in making sure our needs were met and providing us with useful information to make it a memorable experience
I absolutely LOVED my stay here! Great service at Blue Mountain from our waitress ANTOYA. The resort is exquisite, from the food, the drinks and the accommodations. Definitely, a great place to visit especially for first time visitors to Jamaica. We will definitely be back again.
Stayed here May 3rd to 10th. Had an amazing time. Food, guests and staff were great. Stayed in the preferred section. Which gives access to all 3 resorts. Breathless, wild orchid and St. James. The foam pool parties were fun. Guests were very friendly. Staff very accommodating. Room was great. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Good drinks. Did the spa and wife had a massage. She loved it. Special shout out to The Cowboy at the world cafe who gave amazing service and even sang a song which had the wife tear up. He's a great guy. Thanks to Runique our concierge who made sure we had whatever we needed. Shout out to Everett the bartender by the preferred beach. Can't remember the name of the bar. Thanks to Carlton who gave us freshly cut water coconuts daily. Also loved the jerk chicken cart. Night entertainment was on point. Room turnover could improve. 3 days the room wasn't turned over. had to voice my concern with the front desk who was able to send someone. You need to get up early in the morning to secure a spot by the beach. More can be done to enforce guests not staying in the preferred section not to use the lounge chairs in this area. We also met some good couples that we plan on staying in touch with. Staff work hard. Doesn't hurt to leave a couple dollars for good service. I would think any of these negative reviews are from people who just can't be pleased.…
I travel frequently and this is the first time that I found myself wanting a Vacation to end due to it being so awful. I have traveled to Jamaica over 10 times in the last 5 years but after this trip I will strongly consider ever coming back due to the treatment at secrets St James. Upon arrival we were taken to the preferred lounge, on the way a guy on a golf cart didn’t stop and hit the luggage cart pushing it into the worker and myself. I am sure there is camera footage to back it up. As we got checked in we were told that we needed to meet with Shanice to get our $200 in coupons to be used on the resort. She advised us that if we needed anything she would help make it happen. She asked about what we wanted to do during the week. We let her know that we were celebrating our 25th anniversary and were there to renew our vows. The only other thing that we wanted to do was to get a couples massage. She called and booked us 80 mins that we requested. Afterwards she said that she could get us $400 off if we agreed to go to a sales presentation. We were hesitant but agreed to a 90 min presentation. She called us the morning of to confirm and told us our meeting with the wedding coordinator was wrong on our paper (it said 11) she told us it was really 12. Come to find out she changed it to give more time for the sales pitch even though it started at 830am! Way more than the 90 mins we agreed to. We would never have agreed to it being moved as it was the sole propose of this trip. Once we made it to our swim up room we discovered there were no loungers at all on the swim deck like had been in the pics. There were only straight back chairs on the porch. We asked our butler who said they were removed for Covid? This makes no sense at all since the only people that would use them are the two people in the room. Additionally both breathless and wild Orchid had them! What’s the point in a swimOut room if you can’t even enjoy it? Waste of extra money! There was also no curtain on the porch for privacy. What’s the point in a double tub that you can’t even use with out privacy? As for the room it’s self it’s sup par at best. The coffee maker doesn’t work which was reported and never fixed. The curtains have holes in them and kept falling down. My husband had to fix them multiple times during our stay. Everything was dated and the floor was cheap laminate. Who puts this type of floor in a swim out? You can feel it move when you walk across it. There is a connecting room door that has no deadbolt, and was so thin we could hear every word the people said next door. The tablet in the room doesn’t have updated information and the menus don’t match what is at the restaurants. Still determined to not let this ruin our trip we carried on. We went to the sales pitch which after 2 1/2 hours we left. We told them our experiences so far but told us to not judge them based off this hotel. They admitted it was number 11 on the list. We were ready for our spa day, we went there an hour before as we were instructed only to be told that we were only booked for 50 not 80 that we requested. We were basically told to take it or leave it. We were upset and went to speak with shanice who was unavailable but they told us in the lobby they had fixed it that we were to go back to the spa. At this point we had the hydrotherapy only about 20 mins instead of the hour. After the 20 mins they come back and once again told us we could only have 50 mins. At this point I gave up and went to get dressed. The spa manager got involved and come to find me. She said she had fixed it and she herself was going to give one of the massages. The manager is one of the better assets. Our big day arrived, our 25th anniversary and vow renewal. Right before it starts to rain. So they try to wait a while for it to clear and it doesn’t so we have to be moved inside. Ok disappointed? Yes but I know this can’t be avoided. They come pick us both up on the smallest golf cart and put us on the back with an umbrella. We were soaked all the way through by the time we got there. They had larger carts, it’s beyond me why they didn’t use one so we could have been inside. We were then taken to a hallway, An undecorated hallway where workers were carrying tables and equipment into what appeared to be a ball room. How pathetic is there not a place to use in the event of rain?!!! Oh wait there was but it was being set up for a door dash party so we got a hallway. We try to make the best of it, but The entire time i was trying not to Cry. How many times do people get to renew their vows on their 25th anniversary? Ok so for the icing on the cake.. they drop our cake trying to move it to get a pic where it doesn’t look like we are in a hallway. Our day was absolutely ruined!!! I will never get this day back and I had to redo my hair and put back on a dress for pictures, so I can pretend it was nice. I am crushed from this experience! I wish I had never come here! 7k for HORRIBLE service!…
Amazing couples trip. The resort was spectacular. Food and service were top notch. The entertainment employees were phenomenal - Baywatch, Angel, Kemstar, Calvin, Chevvon, Shamari, just to name a few, made our trip so special. Our bell hop, JA’MAAL is one for the books. He took care of us from the moment we stepped foot on the property until the morning we departed. On and off property we were treated amazing. One of our waiters “The Cowboy” sang to us during breakfast and he had an amazing voice. We LOVED everything about our trip. We cannot wait to return and see everyone again!
Absolutely loved the resort and ALL of the staff. We were greeted by Jamal who was the absolute BEST!! Seriously made it the best experience! He went way beyond and above for us and he was truly appreciated! We were serenaded by the Jamaica Cowboy as we were celebrating our engagement and it was so good! We had the preferred club where we had access to Breathless as well. It is a must if you are looking for a good party!! The entertainment crew at Breathless is AMAZING! Angel, Argentina, Cory, Bay Watch, Kemstar, and Shamari were a few of the entertainment crew that we got to know while there and the will absolutely make sure you have a great time!! Our bartenders we wonderful as well. Calvin and Chavonne went out of there way to make sure we had the drink we wanted. If they did not have the bottle of what we wanted the made sure to get it from another bar. Weather at Breathless or Secrets you will not be disappointed!! The staff is amazing and the facilities are A1! We will definitely be back!…
