The staff was quite skiddish and off beat. Not friendly at all. They insisted that I pay first before checking into my room. My mode of payment was my credit card so they ran it through. A few days after, a staff member told me the accounting department mentioned that my card didn't go through properly. So they asked to run it through again. I obliged thinking nothing about it. Wexford accounting charged me double my stay. IF I would have been back home in Canada before three months time, I would have been able to notice this scam the Wexford staff threw at me. After three months my credit card company was not able to challenge the scam. Once I figured this charade on arrival back home, I called the Wexford countless times and they continuously gave me the run around. It became more than obvious this was a set up and a normal routine. Between they dishonesty and the very dated rooms..I would have been better off elsewhere..There is no feeling like going on holidays to enjoy yourself, and the staff from hotels rip you off. DO NOT STAY HERE. HOTEL FROM HELL. If you look through my travel experiences, I only give bad reviews if truly needed. Take care in Jamaica mon..many scams to be had.…
If was a quite place to stay in Montego Bay this is the place for you. It’s within walking distance for the town. And talking distance from some nice clubs and beaches... however had a few issues during my stay there..the place have a lot of potential... guess it’s the management problem.
Two days before I left the UK I received an email from Wexford that they cancelled my hotel (which was booked 5 months prior). I called to find out why this happened and they told me that they sold there hotel and will be cancelling all bookings that weekend. I didn't believe them one bit as Montego was in a huge demand for hotels that weekend due to the reggae Sumfest. I found out that what Wexford was doing was cancelling so people could rebook for triple the amount. They were also bumping people out and booking other people in. I was left in a city stranded with no where to go, especially as the city was in a state of emergency! I Would never look to book there again.
This hotel needs a total gut job and a complete makeover. The decor is dated and dark and the check in Lobby is uninviting, hot and very dreary. This is an absolute waste because this hotel is situated on a very trendy and happening street call the Hip Strip. Some of the many attractions located on this strip are Margaritaville, several beaches, ALOT of shopping and also the world's fastest man Usain Bolt's restaurant Tracks and Records and several hotels. The rooms are dated the furnitures old and dirty looking and lighting is atrocious. When applying makeup make sure to bring a lighted mirror because the lights are so dull. The only good thing is the breakfast and the staff. They seem to know that the place is a dump but they're doing their best. Really disappointing.
