My husband and I experienced both comfort and relaxation while resting at Neita’s. We also had the pleasure of being served breakfast in an eclectic surrounding by an electric host. The service was impeccable and not to mention the patio where our breakfast was served. The patio seemed to have hugged the beautiful array of flowers, herbs and fruit trees that surrounded it. It also provided us with a grand view of the mountain side; bringing added peace and tranquility to our stay. Did i mention that some of the fruits from Neita’s patio/ garden was included in our breakfast. Everything from the host to the food to the rest was spectacular. We will definitely be visiting again.
This wonderful bed and breakfast is situated in the lush green hills outside Kingston. You can find fruit trees, flowers and even big and shady trees - one with a treehouse in its crown. The wonderful terrace is big and shady: you you can sit there and relax from a day maybe on famous Kingston Victoria Pier or at the National Heroes Park. The rooms are quite big; all of them are clean, cosy and quiet. We had a good queen/ king bed and a wonderful sleep there. Michelle, the lovelyl and cultivated owner and super hostess of this little paradies knows quite everything on the history of Jamaica, the Carribean and the Americas. Breakfasts are gorgeous - all of them at gourmet quality, served wirh mountain coffee, tea and juices. Try the fantastic, creative homemade yoghurts with nuts, serials, local bee honey and fruits. Certain meals for dinner on demand. The property is overall safe. Come soon to get an extraordinary experience on Jamaica, the Blue Mountains and Kingston in particular.…
Michele is a fabulous hostess. I spent a couple of days in Kingston and had great conversations with her about Jamaican history (her father was a press officer to the PM) and she has the inside scoop on many historical events. The house is excellent, with a lovely view from the verandah. The standout aspect of the stay is the breakfast she makes - gourmet style and beautifully presented.
My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Neita's Nest this summer. We enjoyed the spectacular view of the mountains, the cool non-AC ventilation and the gracious hospitality of proprietress Michelle Neita, whose tasteful attention to detail added a polish to the entire experience. The property, located above the city of Kingston and its suburb of Orange Grove is away-from-it all while remaining in easy reach. About two miles down the hill in Constant Spring, one finds a choice of supermarkets, pharmacies and various restaurants and two excellent wine bars. We had a rented car, but we could have managed fairly well without one as the property has a reliable taxi service on call Ms. Neita provided wonderful, imaginative breakfasts using fresh tropical fruit, other healthy ingredients and aromatic Blue Mountain coffee. Were I of the mind to do so, I could have taken advantage of the location to enjoy a healthy walk down and back up the sloping driveway, but being on vacation I thought better of it and opted instead to enjoy lazy lounging and relaxed conversation on the verandah. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed and very satisfied in our choice of accommodation for our visit.…
I needed a place to help me reconnect to my own country while allowing me to recover from an exhausting few weeks. Neita's Nest was that place. Its location on a hill looking out on Poinciana trees in flower set the tone for calm nurturing relaxation. As a nature lover, I did not need to venture far to reap the benefits of being surrounded by lush flora and have the ability to see and hear birds and be delighted by butterflies. Fresh fruit, homemade yogurt and the obligatory ackee and saltfish meal made mornings welcome. My accommodations were spacious and suited my needs. Michelle was a gracious, helpful and generous hostess in all the ways I associate with Jamaica. This is my new at-home retreat.
Was there for 3 days and really liked it. It’s of the traditional tourist circuit and that what makes it special. Up in the hills, it’s surrounded by beautiful nature and flowers. Michelle, the owner, was very helping in booking transportation for me. I recommend.
Quite simply our stay at Neita’s Nest was brilliant, so good in fact that during a week’s trip we stayed twice on arrival and departure. Michelle is the consummate B n’ B owner - warm, friendly and a generous host - and she is reason enough to stay here. The hotel itself though is recommended, a charming simple and very clean hotel set in a beautiful location in the hills. Michelle is also a wonderful cook, and my overriding memory is the ackee and saltfish breakfast she cooked for us on our last day. She joined us for breakfast and it felt like family. 10/10, highly recommended.
I highly recommend everyone come here for a stay. I loved the big room, you get your own bathroom and the host is truly a gift. Every morning we had a new Jamaican style breakfast (fruits first, then the meal) and it was delicious. My favorite was the kalaloo quiche. So good!!!! The bed is very comfortable, room is cool and wifi is fast. You get to eat breakfast on the balcony and take in the breath taking view. Waking up to that every morning was a gift. Close enough to everything by taxi and the host will help you book tours. Everyone should be staying here. Forget the hotel.
We stayed at Neita’s Nest for the first four nights of our first visit to Jamaica. Michelle was very welcoming, made tasty cooked breakfasts (different each day so we had a good introduction to Jamaican dishes), and was always available to answer any questions or to provide advice. We slept well in a particularly comfy bed and, although the bathroom is not en-suite it is only a step across the landing so we didn’t mind. We certainly felt we were amongst family and friends. We got to know Michelle and her sons and, through sharing the breakfast table with another couple, they became friends too. They had a car so kindly gave us lifts around Kingston. Best of all, Michelle invited us to join her and her sister at a celebration dinner at a local restaurant which was a great Jamaican experience. It’s worth knowing that Neita’s Nest is quite a way out of Kingston and not that easy to find so opportunities for going out in the evening were more limited than we had expected. However our stay was the perfect introduction to Jamaica, and that’s thanks to Michelle’s charm and hospitality. …
This place was a godsend for us. Our trip to Kingston was to deal with stressful family business, and having a place like Neita's to come back to everyday made our working vacation still feel like a vacation. The breakfast was very thoughtful and we felt cared for at all times. Michelle is a wonderful host. I would highly recommend staying here if you have business in Kingston.
