Welcome to Neita's Nest ... A Jamaican Bed and Breakfast service in a private dwelling enjoyed for decades by families and friends as it lends to easy entertaining. The breathtaking view of the sunrise, the show-stopping ascent of the full moon, and the mist-wrapped mountains after rain can all be enjoyed from all three guest bedrooms, as well as from the wide verandah - a perfect breakfast nook. Our floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows make for indoor dining a no-less picturesque experience. Neita's Nest - in Bridgemount, Stony Hill The approach, a winding, uphill challenge and now favoured-path of the fittest exercise buffs, is one of the oldest roads in the parish of St. Andrew. Built by slaves some 300 years ago, it still meanders through the residential area of Bridgemount, long-since named for this little-remembered piece of history. Historic Bed and Breakfast. Situated on the property that once housed The Captain's Quarters for Fort Bridgemount, an 18th century mountain-top British Army post, this 1960's chalet-styled home, now Bed and Breakfast to the world, is perched with a commanding view of the mountains surrounding Kingston's Liguanea Plains. Bird Watcher's Paradise/ Artist's Haven. The cool hills surrounding this upper St. Andrew home nurture a year-round verdant view, with the lush, untamed hillsides providing the perfect hideaway for over twenty species of local and migrant birds. But who's counting? The sheer joy of being awakened to nature's harmony creates the perfect setting of sights and sounds to inspire the creators of les beaux arts, the writers of poignant poetry and the composers of melodious music. Facilities and Amenities. Breakfast, which is included in your room rate, consists of Fresh Tropical Fruit, Juice, Freshly-brewed Authentic Jamaican Coffee, Assorted Teas, a Cooked Meal, Breads & Spreads. My husband and I experienced both comfort and relaxation while resting at Neita’s. We also had the pleasure of being served breakfast in an eclectic surrounding by an electric host. The service was impeccable and not to mention the patio where our breakfast was served. The patio seemed to have hugged the beautiful array of flowers, herbs and fruit trees that surrounded it. It also provided us with a grand view of the mountain side; bringing added peace and tranquility to our stay. Did i mention that some of the fruits from Neita’s patio/ garden was included in our breakfast. Everything from the host to the food to the rest was spectacular. We will definitely be visiting again.

This wonderful bed and breakfast is situated in the lush green hills outside Kingston. You can find fruit trees, flowers and even big and shady trees - one with a treehouse in its crown. The wonderful terrace is big and shady: you you can sit there and relax from a day maybe on famous Kingston Victoria Pier or at the National Heroes Park. The rooms are quite big; all of them are clean, cosy and quiet. We had a good queen/ king bed and a wonderful sleep there. Michelle, the lovelyl and cultivated owner and super hostess of this little paradies knows quite everything on the history of Jamaica, the Carribean and the Americas. Breakfasts are gorgeous - all of them at gourmet quality, served wirh mountain coffee, tea and juices. Try the fantastic, creative homemade yoghurts with nuts, serials, local bee honey and fruits. Certain meals for dinner on demand. The property is overall safe. Come soon to get an extraordinary experience on Jamaica, the Blue Mountains and Kingston in particular.

Michele is a fabulous hostess. I spent a couple of days in Kingston and had great conversations with her about Jamaican history (her father was a press officer to the PM) and she has the inside scoop on many historical events. The house is excellent, with a lovely view from the verandah. The standout aspect of the stay is the breakfast she makes - gourmet style and beautifully presented.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Neita's Nest this summer. We enjoyed the spectacular view of the mountains, the cool non-AC ventilation and the gracious hospitality of proprietress Michelle Neita, whose tasteful attention to detail added a polish to the entire experience. The property, located above the city of Kingston and its suburb of Orange Grove is away-from-it all while remaining in easy reach. About two miles down the hill in Constant Spring, one finds a choice of supermarkets, pharmacies and various restaurants and two excellent wine bars. We had a rented car, but we could have managed fairly well without one as the property has a reliable taxi service on call Ms. Neita provided wonderful, imaginative breakfasts using fresh tropical fruit, other healthy ingredients and aromatic Blue Mountain coffee. Were I of the mind to do so, I could have taken advantage of the location to enjoy a healthy walk down and back up the sloping driveway, but being on vacation I thought better of it and opted instead to enjoy lazy lounging and relaxed conversation on the verandah. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed and very satisfied in our choice of accommodation for our visit.

I needed a place to help me reconnect to my own country while allowing me to recover from an exhausting few weeks. Neita's Nest was that place. Its location on a hill looking out on Poinciana trees in flower set the tone for calm nurturing relaxation. As a nature lover, I did not need to venture far to reap the benefits of being surrounded by lush flora and have the ability to see and hear birds and be delighted by butterflies. Fresh fruit, homemade yogurt and the obligatory ackee and saltfish meal made mornings welcome. My accommodations were spacious and suited my needs. Michelle was a gracious, helpful and generous hostess in all the ways I associate with Jamaica. This is my new at-home retreat.

Calming. Nuturing. Relaxing. Restorative. We are delighted that Neita's Nest was all this for you when you needed us most. Glad too that we had reopened just in time for your visit to Kingston, Jamaica. That we have scaled our operation to a manageable one booking at a time (for a maximum 5 persons), assures all the quiet space our guests need. We are happy that our homemade yogurt with your fruit was a welcome addition to your mornings as it is new to our meal offering - a Tropical Contental Breakfast. And, everyone's favorite breakfast nook is still the verandah with its vantage point for viewing the myriad of birds and butterflies that live in our natural surroundings. Do make it summer again to enjoy the vivid tangerine-colored crown of Poinciana blooms. But, if you can't make it between early June to late August, we are sure to have other colorful blooms and variegated foliage that you will surely enjoy. Thank you for your kind review. So heartwarming to know that AntyDotty1913 smiles. Cheers,

Was there for 3 days and really liked it. It’s of the traditional tourist circuit and that what makes it special. Up in the hills, it’s surrounded by beautiful nature and flowers. Michelle, the owner, was very helping in booking transportation for me. I recommend.

Dear Roam43765 Thank you for the kind review of your 3-night stay with us. Located in the suburban Kingston neighbourhood of Bridgemount, Stony Hill, our homestay bed and breakfast is certainly off the traditional tourist curcuit. While not for everyone, that is what our most discerning guests love about us. And, we are only a five-minute drive from shopping and restaurants. We are indeed happy you chose Neita's Nest for your stay in Jamaica and we will always remember you as our first guest as we reopened post-pandemic. Such a blessing! Cheers, Michelle.

Quite simply our stay at Neita’s Nest was brilliant, so good in fact that during a week’s trip we stayed twice on arrival and departure. Michelle is the consummate B n’ B owner - warm, friendly and a generous host - and she is reason enough to stay here. The hotel itself though is recommended, a charming simple and very clean hotel set in a beautiful location in the hills. Michelle is also a wonderful cook, and my overriding memory is the ackee and saltfish breakfast she cooked for us on our last day. She joined us for breakfast and it felt like family. 10/10, highly recommended.

I highly recommend everyone come here for a stay. I loved the big room, you get your own bathroom and the host is truly a gift. Every morning we had a new Jamaican style breakfast (fruits first, then the meal) and it was delicious. My favorite was the kalaloo quiche. So good!!!! The bed is very comfortable, room is cool and wifi is fast. You get to eat breakfast on the balcony and take in the breath taking view. Waking up to that every morning was a gift. Close enough to everything by taxi and the host will help you book tours. Everyone should be staying here. Forget the hotel.

Dear Chatele O. Thank you for making the time so soon after your departure to share the memories of your stay. Every detail pleases us because we do try to make the experience special for our guests. The beauty of the location is for us a divine gift of nature. Our job is to ensure that the service is right on par with the views, so we are delighted that you loved it all. Our appreciation to you for the kudos on the variety and tastes of our breakfasts. For readers of your review, our bed and breakfast is a homestay and has a regular kitchen. So, we put special effort in our menu planning, and shopping, to ensure that the single meal that we prepare each morning is pleasing to all. We ask ahead for dietary restrictions, and design a menu for the period of stay, which hopefully has no meals repeated. We have even managed to serve a different breakfast to guests staying 14 days! Our Callaloo Quiche is relatively new on our menu, is loved by all and gets the thumbs up from our French guests as well. Except for our signature breakfast, which we have named "Good Morning, Honey", (come, and we will tell you why) yours is a 2-Course meal, beginning with fresh fruit. While we have recognised that a homestay (traditional) bed and breakfast is not for everyone (some do prefer hotels), with a review like yours, Chatele O, we can look forward to back-to-back 100% occupancy. Ad, would love that!. Thanks and we look forward to hosting you again. Sincerely, Michelle.

We stayed at Neita’s Nest for the first four nights of our first visit to Jamaica. Michelle was very welcoming, made tasty cooked breakfasts (different each day so we had a good introduction to Jamaican dishes), and was always available to answer any questions or to provide advice. We slept well in a particularly comfy bed and, although the bathroom is not en-suite it is only a step across the landing so we didn’t mind. We certainly felt we were amongst family and friends. We got to know Michelle and her sons and, through sharing the breakfast table with another couple, they became friends too. They had a car so kindly gave us lifts around Kingston. Best of all, Michelle invited us to join her and her sister at a celebration dinner at a local restaurant which was a great Jamaican experience. It’s worth knowing that Neita’s Nest is quite a way out of Kingston and not that easy to find so opportunities for going out in the evening were more limited than we had expected. However our stay was the perfect introduction to Jamaica, and that’s thanks to Michelle’s charm and hospitality.

Dear Bob, So kind of you to take the time to write and post your review so soon after your stay with us; when all is still fresh. We do appreciate all your kind expressions and are equally delighted that you enjoyed so much of what we had to offer. Thank you too for joining us at Triple Tz's customer appreciation dinner. We refer many of our guests there for lunch and dinner, and you were the beneficiaries of their appreciation! Neita's Nest has become known as the bed and breakfast where you will meet friends you never knew you had. It is therefore no surprise that you made friends with our other guests and that they generously shared their transportation with you. Rest assured that not all guests choose to rent vehicles and so, we do have trusted taxis and excellent tour operators on whom we call to take our guests to whereever they wish to go. Whether it is for dinner at a nearby restaurant, sightseeing and events in and around the city or a tour to other locations across Jamaica, just ask us. We are only too happy to ensure that you come to know and enjoy the city we love. For the benefit of our readers, Neita's Nest is within the city of Kingston. From here, the seemingly arm's length views of the mountains, the clean air and the cool breezes are some of the alluring and captivating features for our guests. It is these that set us apart from life in the city, albeit only 5 minutes away. We are in a suburban, residential neighbourhood just north of Manor Park, the nearest commercial centre. We trust you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Jamaica as much as you enjoyed your time with us, Bob. We certainly enjoyed your visit. Cheers, Michelle.

This place was a godsend for us. Our trip to Kingston was to deal with stressful family business, and having a place like Neita's to come back to everyday made our working vacation still feel like a vacation. The breakfast was very thoughtful and we felt cared for at all times. Michelle is a wonderful host. I would highly recommend staying here if you have business in Kingston.

Dear Sheryll D, I remember you sharing these sentiments with me while you were both working on the verandah. How kind of you to share them here for all to see and be inspired to visit for work or for vacation, or both. There is indeed something about that spot; the verandah - everyones's favourite breakfast nook, which doubles as an ourdoor work room. Maybe it is the cooling breezes from the not too distant Blue Mountains, maybe it is the flitteringing of birds and butterflies in our little garden, or perhaps the forested mountain scape of calming greens. Whether it is any one, or all, we are certainly happy that Neita's Nest was your treat, and retreat, at the end of your busy days. Do come again. We will be delighted to host you on your return. Sincerely, Michelle.
