Had my wedding here on December 23, 2021.Please note the following: 1. Mr Trevor Bent was very friendly and helpful. 2. Food: our food was served cold, lacked presentation, baked chicken was overly salt and my groom and I didn't even catch a glimpse of the icecream and cake we paid for. 3. Our stay: after having the photographers do their work in the bridal suite, on our bed etc, our room was not cleaned for us to spend the night we had paid for. Imagine, after the ceremony my groom and I had to be walking around to find someone to beg some water to drink and begged our wedding planner to see if they could at least just give us some clean sheets for the night. We had paid all of USD$110 for the night and ended up having to clean the bathroom, make our own beds with the one towel and two sheets that we were given, no pillow case until we brought it to the attention of Mr Bent. We spoke to the hotel manager (Nikky) about it the morning before we left only to be told they were short staffed, they would have had to get our permission to clean it..all silly excuses during this pandemic. We didn't even get a sincere apology after spending so much with them for our wedding plus to host the bridal party at the hotel. We are so disappointed as we know there are so many other places that would have treated us far better for even a cheaper rate.…
I have attended a wedding at City View Hotel a few weeks ago and the food that they serve us you could see the blood running from the meat like we are killing the chicken on the spot the chicken wasn't cooked .A grade service and decor was nice but the food that they serve us was terrible. I would not recommend that place for wedding reception at all because your memorable moments will be horrible moments.
I attended a wedding at the property and was very impressed with the facility. The view is spectacular, and all services provided by the hotel were good - drinks, meal, music and overall service by staff. I recommend the property as a venue for weddings and other functions.
My wife and I spent a couple of nights here during a short visit to Kingston. Our room had a great view over the city which was further enhanced by a balcony that provided the best spot from which to enjoy the view. The staff were friendly and the breakfasts made for a good start to the day. We had a car with us and there was plenty parking available. We would visit here again.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and it is a fascinating house with a beautiful view. Continental breakfast was toast and juice only. They did not have our reservation and their Visa machine did not work.
Last year December we hosted our annual Christmas Dinner for kids from our inner city school at this location and thought it to have been the best treatment and facilitation since we have been doing this. As a result we went back on Dec.7, 2017. It was no way near pleasing in some respects. All the members of the group were serve except myself; yet the company required payment and a service charge for me. I was offered a chance to get food after the function which I refused and was still charged for a service and meal that I did not receive. I have a right to refuse a meal that is offered to me after the function. This is a rather unfortunate act from a company that was held in high regard. I will never again recommend nor attend to any function at this property.
We had our Wedding Ceremony along with the Reception at City View. I live in the States and my Fiance works overseas, during the initial planning phase thing where a little difficulty at times with communication with the hotel, However in the end City View delivered!! They Executed the ideas that We had for our special day!! The staff was very Courteous and warm !! Excellent Job!! The planning coordinator was on point taking the vision I had in my head and capturing the details creating lasting memories making our special day PRICELESS!!
The view is as spectacular as is advertised on their web page. Very service mindes staff. Make sure to book a room with a view. You can get a meal in the evening but you have to give Word well in advance.
Had my wedding ceremony and reception at City View in July 2017. Staff was warm and friendly when I made my deposit. Subsequent to then the following issues were evident: - Property constantly had no internet so did not receive or answer emails in timely basis - Assigned coordinator had to leave 5pm every day thus making site visits and meetings less productive due to her inflexibility. The hotel made sure someone else was available but his involvement on the day was zero. - No dolly or trolly available to move heavy items - Chosen bridal suite was not available as air conditioning was not working. - Phone in room did not work - Kitchen does not have a fridge to hold wedding cake. Cake literally fell apart on the day - Nothing agreed with coordinator and wait staff was executed on day such as buffet service and order of food. - Utensils were not made available for reception. Had to be requested and were brought out 12 at a time, wet, for a 120 guest reception. - One way to property but Mannings Hill Road often has traffic. Road work was in progress with detours and a truck happened to be blocking the only way onto property causing an inordinate delay for guests. - Stated could seat 150 guests in ceremony area but a more realistic number would be 80 - 100 Food was good, and view is nice. Would not recommend for a major event as the property does not understand good event management and execution.…
My visit to the property was welcoming from arrival. I was greeted by Michael at the front desk and from reception I felt welcomed back to my homeland from which I'd been gone for 30 odd years. He made me feel welcome and ready to get reacquainted with my childhood home. The property itself is amazing as the hospitality!
