I regularly lead mission groups to Cap Haitien, Haiti. After a stay in 2015, I left the Mont Joli furious with quality of the stay, customer service was non-existent. I vowed to never stay there again with a group. In 2016 a new owner and...More

The setting of this hotel is superb. However, the notions of service and basic necessities are sorely lacking in this hotel. A shower that works with hot water (not smelling of petrol or coming out in drops) is a must. We had 2 power outages...More
We ate lunch at the restaurant by the pool overlooking the bay. It was a very nice setting and the food was good. In addition there was free wireless internet, a definite plus for an international traveler.

I certainly wouldn't rely on the receptionists to arrange airport taxis. We tried to do that on the day before we left the hotel and after waiting for half an hour we discovered that the receptionist hadn't even bothered to arrange one for us. Better to find a taxi for yourself or better still ask one of the waiters, they are much more helpful, just make sure you fix the price before you get into the taxi. To and from the airport shouldn't cost more than $30.00. As for excursions, the hotel don't have scheduled ones. again, ask one of the waiters or even the manager. The taxi will cost $100 for up to 3 people, there and back, and then there's the entrance fee and guide when you arrive; plus a donkey to get you to the top. Impressive but not cheap.
