We had a short break in North Wales in late October and booked two nights at this lovely country pub. Everything was great. A superb view with the coast in the distance, good hearty food in the evening, excellent local real ale and a very filling breakfast. Ideal location for exploring North wales. We were made to feel very welcome... More

Having read some of the poor reviews for The Hawk & Buckle I'm astounded - I can only assume that these have been left by the kinds of nutters for whom the replacement of glass HP Sauce bottles with the plastic variety would represent a valid case for outrage! On our recent visit we arrived too late to eat, unfortunately,... More

Stopped for a weekend break and had a great time at this friendly inn. Room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast set you up for the day. Nice selection of ales and the food was very good indeed. Nice roaring fire made for a very cosy evening.

We were looking for a place to stay for a week's autumn holiday in North Wales and found this fabulous pub/hotel. It was in a small village reached through narrow winding roads but it was easy to get to places like Anglesey and Chester. We had a lovely clean and comfortable room with a king sized bed and a modern... More

I was fortunate enough to book a one night stop over at The Hawk & Buckle Inn, Llannefydd, Denbigh, a delightful 17th Century coaching inn off the beaten track. Gareth and Siwan were exceptional hosts and that exception continued with a mouth watering evening meal of beef and ale pie. A pint of the local elder-flower beer went down a... More

Lovely little pub B&B located in a small village well out of the way. We stayed here when we were on a weekend away in Wales for my boyfriends birthday (19th September), as we just wanted somewhere we could relax. We paid for a luxury room and when we got there we were shown to our room by a polite... More

Excellent hotel. Great food, friendly staff and the owners Gareth & Siwaun are fantastic. Nothing too much trouble. Quiz on a Wednesday always fun and you can just join a team of local people. As a Camra member it's great to see local ales being served too. Visit it's great.

This was our second stay at the Hawk and Buckle. Once again we received a warm welcome from Siwan and Gareth and we stayed in room 10 which was immaculate. The pub is situated in an ideal location for touring the whole of North Wales. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We intend to return.

We stayed here along with quite a few other friends & their relatives Friday & Saturday night. We were attending a wedding on the Saturday. It is an excellent country pub/hotel. We received a very friendly welcome & were shown quickly to our room. Our room was beautifully furnished with a very large & comfortable king-size double bed. Bathroom looked... More
