Clean and tidy resort with access directly to the beach. Large fridge freezer in the kitchenette. Lorraine's customer care attentiveness was exemplary. We forgot our computer charging cable when we checked out and she went the extra mile to make sure that it was forwarded to our onward destination. I would go there again which is something I don't often say.

We are what the staff call "repeaters" having stayed at The Gem every 5 years starting in 1998 coinciding with the anniversary of Operation Urgent Fury which I participated in. Major shout outs to Kathy at the bar and Laureen our housekeeper. The room was kept spotless the entire week we were there. It's always great to be welcomed by people that know us. It makes The Gem our home away from home and the people are what makes it that way. We have never traveled anywhere so inviting and warm. It's also very safe and secure with on site security at night.

In July, I spent a couple nights at the hotel on a solo trip. I was a little anxious at first based on the reveiws, but decided to go ahead with my booking due to the proximity of my favourite beach in Grenada, BBC. I was not disappointed with my decision. My room was clean and comfortable with a decent view of the beach. However, the most pleasureable was the interaction with the office staff, Kezi, Lorraine and Ms. Moore who had pleasant and inviting personalities. The beach, as usual, was fantastic. I only purchased one meal from the restaurant on the Friday; a Wings special together with a virgin pina colada. The wings were delicious; however the drink was not the best. The attendant however was very friendly as were the ladies who cleaned my room. My one annoyance was at intervals, there were loud noises from children in one of the rooms nearby. Thankfully, this did not go on too long. I would certainly return again in the future, once able to.

The rooms are little dated and worn, but the price is right. Bed and air conditioning were wonderful. Beautiful and peaceful, uncrowded beach just outside the front door. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Wifi worked throughout the property.

Great Location on the beach. Ok it may be a bit tired but you are not paying 5* prices ! They have a friendly team. If you fancy something different the Mount Cinnamon Beach Cabana is 10 minutes’ walk and do a great Beach grill meal. Maybe its just me but they add 15% service charge on to the Gem food bills , I prefer to leave a tip. Who says the tip is split around all as well ? A little bit deflated , we had paid for 2 nights but had to leave after 1..as it was booking.com the could not refund me ... they did use the room for the 2nd night so a refund of any size would have been appreciated M

What a lovely place and convenient location!! Three of us stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. Every morning we took a walk on the beach and had breakfast in the restaurant. Checking in was easy, there was plenty of secure parking and the view from the room could not be beat!! The apartment was clean when we arrived and housekeeping came everyday. The AC in the bedrooms was super cold. Over all we had an amazing experience and will definitely book Gem Beach Resort the next time we visit Grenada.

Avoid booking with these at all costs I booked a package holiday with this company they fraudently took money from my account after the holiday had been paid in full when we arrived at our destination early hours of the morning to be told by hotel reception that there was no booking made ended up upset and annoyed being ain't a foreign country with a young child emailed the emergency contact number to be told I had to pay extra to stay at the hotel until this was resolved after emails and phone calls for 3 days they finally sorted the accommodation amd the hotel advised me that they didn't send payment to the hotel this was frustrating as a family has we were frightened that we would have no where to stay so we had to pay the extra costs 1 week into the holiday we were advised that our flight home had been cancelled amd to contact holiday gems after being on hold for 80 mins finally got through to them to be told that they wouldn't fly us back to our departure airport has they would only fly us to Manchester I told the lady that this was not ideal has we didn't have any money or transportation to get from the airport to be told if we didn't take the flight then we would be stranded in a foreign country not very good customer service skills I have been in touch with my local paper and are now in the process of taking this further and reported to holiday watchdog just warning people this company is not a good company to deal with amd this has caused me to not want to go abroad again

I can’t say enough good things about Gems and their staff, particularly Delsin and Cathy. We stayed near Mourne Rouge for two months and spent every weekend at least under a tree by Gems. They really made us feel so welcome and like we were part of a big family. Great Rum punch and the salt cod fritters and bakes are the best. Great Saturday night beach bbq as well

I usually only write positive reviews but… After a terrible experience just trying to get to Grenada with all the required paperwork, we had accommodations booked elsewhere and had to rebook here last minute because of dates that changed in travel. I reached out to the manager Julia saying I didn’t think we were going to make it, however we managed to make our way. More than 24 hours later, she finally responded and said she was sorry for what we were going through, and would have a Rum punch waiting for me upon arrival. Once we arrived at the hotel, we were told we would be confined to our room and not allowed anywhere on the grounds, not what was described in the booking. I asked if the water was safe to drink, her response was it’s ok so long as your tummy isn’t sensitive. What did that mean exactly… Our accommodations were on the top floor, and there was no one to help bring our luggage to our room. In the room, not even a bottle of water in the fridge, coffee, tea, sugar, or salt and pepper. Although there was air conditioning in the bedroom, nothing was on and it was sweltering hot in the suite. When checking in, Julia said she would send us a welcome package via email, the information provided was laundry services and the restaurant menu, which were outrageously priced. No information was ever provided by email or in the room; amenities, getting fresh towels, disposing of trash, which places we could order groceries from or restaurant delivery, etc. Not even extra towels or a broom and dustpan were provided, until I asked for it… Fortunately we had friends and family bringing us things. 48 hours after our arrival, our family brought us a large grocery order since we were there for a week. Julia, the manager told both us and our family that would be the last delivery we would be allowed until we were cleared of our mandatory Covid test on day 4, which means we could only get deliveries again near day 7 when we were due to leave anyway. We felt like we were in jail. The Covid test only came on day 5, I was cleared at checkout time on day 7, but my husband was not so we could not leave. Julia had direct contact with health officials and sent them a message, but there was no follow up with us from her all day or evening (I inquired 3 times during the day). There was no phone call to let us know we would have to stay an extra night. We disputed the extra night charge of $325 EC/$165 Canadian, saying we were kept hostage. She said we could have left if we didn’t want to pay it, after she specifically told us we could not leave. We had to pay the bill in full, saying she needed to get paid for the extra night, and if we had an issue we needed to take it up with the Ministry of Health. Throughout our stay, there were no phone calls to us, to ask if everything was ok, or if there was anything we needed. Bed was extremely hard, and there was no real effort to make us feel welcomed or make us comfortable. Julia said we would be charged for the Covid testing $150 US each and to have our money ready. The testing was free. We left here very unsatisfied, feeling that this hotel is nothing but a cash grab, lacking both communication and customer service. Did I mention I am still waiting for my rum punch?

What a wonderful 2 week stay! Staff was super friendly and helpful. The beach was right in front and often was not busy. Despite the impending Covid-19 shut down we were treated with warmth and concern for our safe return home.
