I’ve visited this hotel from March 2nd till the 9th on a solo trip. Rooms were lovely and the AC worked well. I booked a superior room with ocean view which was absolutely worth it. The staff was awesome. Special thanks to the waiters/waitresses who worked at the buffet in the morning and at “Las Olas“ for lunch. They were all very sweet and welcoming. Another thank you for the girls who work at the lobby bar. Their service was impeccable. The beach is gorgeous, chairs are always available. There are a lot of waves! Pool was great too, super quiet and the view from there was beautiful. Overall food was good. However, I thought 20usd for the lunch buffet was quite expensive. If you’re only a little hungry and/or would like a snack, there are no options available so you have no choice but to pay the full amount. Otherwise, prices for the a la carte lunch and for drinks were reasonable. Portions were huge! It is a very quiet resort, there is not a lot of entertainment. It would be awesome if the sunset bar was opened during the evening. It was fun to sit in that area but the bar would be a great addition. All areas of the resort were kept very clean and the views are truly gorgeous. On the last day, a worker entered my room at 7:30 am. I thought this was a bit weird considering how early it was in the morning and it was not someone from the cleaning staff. Therefore, I am unsure of why someone would come into my room that early?! Besides that, I loved my experience and would probably return once it becomes an all-inclusive again.

Hotel's Favorite
Loved this hotel. One of my favourite adults only hotels. Small, quaint. Very disappointed to learn that it is no longer an all inclusive. It's in the middle of no where. (which, was the attraction for me to begin with)

The architecture seamlessly blended with nature, offering breathtaking ocean views. The staff’s kindness and helpfulness made our stay memorable, and the calm atmosphere provided a quiet and restful escape. The hotel is located in a safe neighbourhood. The great food complements the stunning surroundings. A truly delightful and rejuvenating experience.

The place has a beautiful location but the hotel has serious poor management issues from A - Z. Too many issues to list here but basically its a 3 start hotel when it comes to service and amenities. Some key ones though is a total lack of food options with all restaurants except one closed. No sunset bar or beach bar service - also closed. Short staffed. Poor service that makes guests angry and disappointed. Gym sucks, TV broken, fridge broken, fan does work etc.

Adults only, good food, quiet place, great beach but....under new management, room was an ocean view balconey which was excellent, 4th floor for best views. The resort is beautiful however the service especially at the lunch retaurant was incredibly slow despite talking to the food service manager. Food was excellent esp the fillet mignon when it arrived! The two a la carte restaurants were not open! Buffet only for lunch and dinner but food was great! Only two bars, pool bar 10 till 6 pm. lobby bar 4 till 12pm. Top tier spirits if you are all inclusive but you have to ask or will only get local stuff, A local band for entertainment nightly, not a party place which was ok for us and met lots of nice people at the bars. Mini bar in room not stocked except for water but you can take beer there from the bar. The tours, whales and waterfall were good and reasonably priced for resort excursions and we enjoyed them, beach was not crowded, very clean and resort only, ocean was pristine, opportunities to snorkel and see lots of fish, no fighting for chairs, same went for the smallish pool, no chair issues. All in all we liked it a lot but the two a la cartes being closed though promised when we booked was annoying. Mini bar not stocked as promised. Better bar hours would be nice and sevice at the lunch restaurant was ridiculously slow, 1.5 to 2 hours, plan on that unless they fix it. Fix those things and the rating would be higher, take USD for ease and the small town 20 mins away for 10 usd taxi ride was worth the trip. Weather was amazing too.

We have gone to this resort before when it was a full 100% all inclusive luxury resort and again recently after restructuring the resort. The lack of al a carte restaurants creates boredom at the buffet lines as you pretty much get the same food everyday. The lack of activities and entertainment other than DJ everyday does make this resort more for the clientele looking for a quiet ,peaceful vacation, It is no longer a 5 star luxury resort but is a great 4 star resort if your looking for a special out of the way place to stay. The bartenders wendy, jajihira, rosa and ana make the nights enjoyable with either the dj or live music. Very quiet during the days but nothing a great beach or pool can't help you with if you enjoy the sun and water. The food was good but if your a picky eater or want variety then this is where the hotel did something bad. They use to have great al a carte restaurants and closed them during their restructuring and i believe changed this fabulous 5* hotel to being a good 4 * hotel. Still a good hotel for a quiet vacation but no longer a 5* like the sign behind their check in counter suggests. Good hotel but once was great

The location was absolutely gorgeous the beach is beautiful water clear and sandy bottom .The resort has closed 2 of the restaurants so buffet is only option for breakfast and dinner. The food was ok not great and just warm not hot. For the bar you have to sign an iPad with room number for everything water, pop, and alcohol even though there is no charge so there are lineups at bar and they closed the beach bar and sunset bar so pool bar is only one open during the day . You are given 1 card per guest for beach towels which are kept behind front desk you hand in card for towel the towel cabana at the pool is closed .wine is only sold by the bottle and not included in the almost all inclusive.this resort has potential of being great but with all the cut backs and closers it gives the impression that they are not going to be around long

This was my 1st solo trip, hence why I picked an adult's only, semi-all inclusive. The ride from Santo Domingo was 3.5hrs with awful traffic but that was the only airport my airline fly into. The roads are one way in each direction. The driver did his best to make me comfortable and we chatted most of the ride with him giving me so much background and history. I paid for the breakfast/dinner option. The food as you can expect was the same daily and was not that great. Sometimes cold and bland. The beach was amazing and peaceful. I spent 7-9hrs each day just reading and going into the water. My room was clean and had an amazing view of the beach. The resort is on a busy street so be sure to close your inner door or you will hear the mopeds all day and night. Also, brush up on your Spanish. Thankfully I took it in high school and college so I did pretty well communicating. I loved how quiet the resort was and would go again if it was closer to the airport.

As a repeat traveller to the BP Grand Samaná I will share my experience. I stayed at the resort last year 4 times when it was all inclusive and for 3 weeks this Jan 2024 when it changed to full board. As a repeat I was impressed with the boutique nature of the hotel. It's small, small beach sometimes rough waves but nice. Last year the pool area was a bit of a party hangout I avoided. This year the party crowd has moved on.👍 This year buffet only. Last year 3 restaurants including a very nice Brazilian, all nice. A sad departure. The food is still top notch at the buffet. The price for lunch was reasonable $10 USD. Drinks...beer $3 mixed $4 wine by the bottle only $58 ouch! They have since added almost all inclusive without wine at meals which I think is a big improvement. The price clearly reflected the changes the hotel made and balanced out at checkout. The staff at this resort are the hotels biggest asset. All wonderful. Sad some have not returned as there have been cuts. I highly recommend this resort for a small intimate vacation. Not a place to party. I will be returning in the future.

Horrible. Avoid at all cost. It is 3:30 am and I’m not sleeping. Yesterday we didn’t sleep ether. People around the hotel playing tamtam all night. The receptionist refused to change our room tow days in the row and have the audacity to be rude about it. During the day, there’s a construction site: so no sleeping during the day. The food is what you would expect from the cheepest buffet near your house. Fat and salty. As per the ambiance: there is non
