Everything was wonderful, from the pool to the entertainment to the people who work there. I would recommend checking in online before you arrive at the hotel l on their app. That is a lengthy process. And try to get a room closer to the pool.. enjoy!

Our family was separated in two different hotels during check-in due to capacity problems but at the same time we were not allowed to visit each other hotels (!?) Grand Turquesa is not 5 stars by European standard, maybe 3,5.

Great location but the hotel needs to be renovated. Also our room was infected with mosquitoes and flies and took 3 days to be switched. But animation team can get you in the mood for a good day and everything was fine Joselito and Laddy are the best.Great program and show. The food was good but same things over and over and they ran out of yogurt for 4 days, they don't have enough food to refill it consistently.Miguelina in the buffet is an extremely hard worker and very happy to serve you. Also the server by the pool Yaina is a hard worker with big heart and smile. She took really good care for my family and especially for my son.Thank you for the great vacation Gran Bahia Principe Turquesa

The hotel is close to airport (about 25 minutes), it's clean and has great restaurants. The room they gave us was clean and spacious. Beds are pretty comfortable and room has good air conditioning. The food at the restaurants is very good there is always a variety. Drinks at the lobby and pool are awesome especially the Margaritas. Look for Ruperto and Rodolfo at the Lobby Bar and Pool Bar they treat you like kings and queens, great smiles, very friendly, responsible and respectful. Yaina and Laidy at the restaurants give the best service always with a big smile and happy to help. Props to them and their hard word. I will definitely return.

Overall, I want to say Grand Turquesa is a good resort. Most of the people working here are very nice. The grounds are well maintained. The room was clean. However, the AC was NOT good. I’d say the room temperature with the AC and fan on is probably about 78 degrees. That may be cool for some, but not for us. The refrigerator kept things cool, but not cold. We could not get bottles of water in the resort or in our room. We had 2 the first day and the cleaning staff never replaced them. We asked the hotel’s bars for a bottle of water and they said they do not have them—you can only get glasses of water. Many people brought cups from home and filled them at the water stations, I wish we knew to do that. They also used those cups at the bar for larger sized drinks. That was another good idea that we missed. Also, some workers did not seem to like Americans—even after we tipped them. We are not Spanish speakers and we 10000% understand that we are the ones on the outside because of a language barrier. But, we were always polite and did our best to communicate properly. It did not always seem to be reciprocated especially by the one worker at the pool bar. Rodolfo and Ruperto were great though. Erisson needs to change his attitude some. The mosquito issue some people talk about only plagued us at check in believe it or not. I got a few bites there, but that was it. But, we did bring bug spray so maybe that also helped. The food is ok if you do not have picky eaters. Some of the food is seasoned perfectly. Some items have pretty much no seasoning on it at all. With all the Spanish speakers here that were guests, I was hoping the food would be very flavorful. We did the Garden Grill “steakhouse”. The only steak on it was the $85 tomahawk steak. There was no other steak on the menu. The food was fine. The service by the support staff was great. The head server was nonexistent. We were told this was the best place to eat besides the Italian place. If Garden Grill is the best, I’d be afraid to see the other specialty dining options. We did take the shuttle to the beach. It was not not crowded and you could easily get a seat The shuttles are constantly running so there is not a long wait time. If you are on a budget, this is a good option. But, the AC issues, as other people have reviewed, are there. The food taste issues are also there. But, you can do a lot worse.

I was harassed the first day here by Louis stalking and monitoring me …. Then denying it in front of people. I had a guest try to kick down my door trying to kill me, and when o called for help no one answered. I defended myself and stayed in my room out of being harassed from guest and Louis, he told my elder mother to pack her bags in hour and I had to get an attorney from stopping him to put us in the streets. I’m traumatized and NO woman should travel here alone. Louis states at me like a psycho everytime I see him and lies when confronted. I have been sexually harassed he wanted to be my boyfriend and when he saw me with another he harassed me my whole trip. Please do not travel alone if you’re a young good looking woman I will never come back to DR. I could have died

I recently visit this Bahia Principe turquesa with daughter and husband, first complaint is the service, bad bad bad, at the pool bar only attention to you if you tip (proved) at the buffet i have to ask for water or juice all the time I visit, At the beach snack not service at all no napkins no 🍴 nothing no one ask you if you need something all is self serve i had to walk and get my utensils to eat, They dont have any activity for the kids just the waterpark, not a good experience for a Bahia Principe, if you want to go to the beach you have to wait 40 min for a shuttle unless you walk to the others hotel they have shuttle all the time maybe because is the cheapest one they have that service, we when to the neighbor hotel Bahia principe punta cana omg the service excellent drinks so good and the animations so good, we do a reservation at the Japanese restaurant wrong 😑 bad bad they suppose to cook with fire 🔥 but nothing the chef just cook the food don’t do anything 🤣🤣 she serve the food and say thank you, my personal opinion don’t waste your money is a lot a resort all inclusive in punta cana where you can be threaded like you deserve on my side never again. You take vacation because we want have a good service a good food and a good experience but I don’t have nothing even a good food. We just waste our money. And no way to get it back 🙁

Okay so my sister already posted her review a couple of posts before me so you can check hers out for a detailed review of her experience. I would like to start out by saying that my husband and I visited this resort in 2019, prior to Covid. During that stay we didn't ever want to leave! The resort was great. Unfortunately, things have obviously declined in the last 4 years. I also would like to say that I almost always post a review for where we stay, whether it is good or bad so you can count on my review to be honest and thorough, and not a review that I only took the time to write because I was mad. I will start with the good things: The buffet food for all three meals was good. Breakfast and dinner were my favorites. The oriental night was awesome and the sushi was so good! I loved how there was always something new to try. The drinks were fine. They were strong if you asked them to be, but still good even if you didn't. The staff in the restaurants as well as the entertainment staff were awesome. The waiters/waitresses would remember us and "claim" us when they would see us walk through the door. The entertainment staff made us feel like small-time celebrities and we enjoyed the daily games and interactions with them. The bar tender/waitress at the pool bar was so kind and always remembered that our parents did not drink alcohol and helped us choose yummy drinks for them. Overall, this resort has really wonderful people employed there. The grounds are still gorgeous. Some of the nicest I've ever seen. The variety of shops is nice and gave us something to do in our spare time. The trollies are dependable and make getting to the beach a lot quicker than walking. The pool was always clean and looked so nice in the early morning when the water was still and the sun was coming up. There were plenty of chairs that were in good condition and plenty of umbrellas and palapas. The pool does get pretty busy in the late afternoon though, so get to the pool before then if you need multiple chairs next to each other for your group of people. There were always plenty of soft pool towels. The kids enjoyed the water park. The water was pretty warm which kind of made it a miserable time for the parents because there really wasn't any shade so you were just hot the whole time you were there. But again, the kids enjoyed it so it was still okay. Now for the not so great: The previous reviews are correct in saying that this resort needs a lot of updates. Outlets are busted out randomly throughout the resort, and there aren't very many in the rooms. Our original room had a busted door frame which prevented the door from locking securely. We brought this to the front desk's attention and they moved us. This was fine, however the room we went to only had the king bed so we needed an additional bed for our second child. It took multiple calls to concierge (most of them unanswered) and my husband going to the front desk multiple times before a bed was ever brought to us. The bed didn't come until 10pm which is pretty late for our young kiddos, especially after traveling all day. The new room didn't have a working mini-fridge so they needed to swap that out as well. Any type of maintenance needed to the room or other requests took multiple reminders to the front desk to get anything remedied. I know a lot of resorts typically have a master book in the room that gives you all the information you need to know about meal times, a la cartes, the tv guide, wifi password, etc. There was no such book for our room. Now, two days into our stay I realized there was an app for my phone that had this info, but it would have been nice to have been told about it at check in. Instead they tried just telling us the wifi password, meal times, all the info at once as if we are going to remember it all. So if you do choose this resort, definitely download the app! You can make room requests and book your a la carte's through it as well. Although the a la carte food was amazing, all three were in buildings that either the air conditioning was not working, or barely working. It is very difficult to enjoy a meal when you are sweating profusely and have mosquitos swarming your ankles. The buffets were air conditioned and mosquitos were not a problem there. We ate at the steakhouse, the maiko japanese, and the italian for anyone wanting to know. Again, food was great, but it was too hot and the mosquitos were too much. The "snack bar" was a complete joke. As a mother of two young kids who eat smaller meals more frequently through the day, this made it difficult to keep them happy. The snack bar only consisted of bread, fruit, salad, and desserts, all of which were left uncovered for bugs to get into. Most resorts I've been to had warm things like french fries and nachos and hot dogs, etc. They did have a pool bar open for extended hours but you will wait for a very long time to receive your food. Most of the time if someone just wants a quick snack I don't think they want to have to order off a menu and wait. My suggestion would be to dedicate the staff you have working the pool restaurant to keeping a well stocked snack buffet instead. Or extend the buffet hours for those who wake later or get a little hungry in the afternoon. If you do want something like nachos then you can walk all the way over to the water park. But the cheese is gelatinous and not very good. Their only other option is hot dogs and donuts. Overall, it didn't really feel like you had 24/7 access to food and we bought quite a bit of snacks at one of the shops which got to be pretty pricey. The beach is gorgeous, but not very peaceful right now as the they have ongoing maintenance at the beach pool. Which is fine, but just something to consider when booking. Overall, I would say that it is still safe to book one of the sister resorts such as aquamarine, bavaro, etc. Bahia Principe has a pretty good reputation overall. Unfortunately Turquesa just fell short for us this time. It did appear as though some of the buildings in Turquesa were being remodeled at the time so maybe in a few years this resort would be worth another try. And perhaps a lot of these issues can be explained by a shortage in labor as many countries seem to be experiencing that right now. Overall, we still had a good time because we always make the best of any situation.

This resort is very old. they have one sheet on each bed that’s what you use to cover up with. not accommodating for older people. They put us on the very out skirts of the whole facility. The beach is 10 minutes away they do not tell you that. No plugins and no cold water. Safes are broken and have no sense of security. TV is very old and tiny. Mosquitoes are everywhere. We have voiced our concerns with no help! Pictures to follow!

*Let me preface this review by letting you know that I am not typically someone who writes a review on anything ever (good or bad). Typically when I read reviews that are negative I assume the person writing that review is someone who is just hard to please. I am a very easy going person who hates to complain and just rolls with the punches.* Okay, my family of 9 (2 parents & 2 siblings with their own children and spouses) traveled to this resort in June of 2023. The trip to get to the resort was very easy! We were picked up straight away from the airport and smoothly dropped off at our resort with no issues! Upon arrival we checked in & were trollied to our rooms with our luggage! (There were 3 separate rooms between the 9 of us & there were different problems with each room) When my husband and I arrived at our room we noticed straight away that our security safe did not work. A staff member came in & looked only to confirm that it in fact was broken (To us it wasn’t that big of a deal because we could use my sisters safe next door if needed). Unfortunately though we also noticed that we only had 1 working outlet in our room upon the 3 that we had. (There are very limited plugs available in the rooms so I would suggest bringing a multi-plug adapter.) None of these issues were fixed during our stay. Upon check in I requested a crib for my child, I was assured one would be brought to our room. It was not. Ever. No matter how many times I requested one. We went a whole week without one. The staff at this resort did not seem very willing to accommodate your needs no matter how far in advance you requested them. Through the week we had issues with restocking our toilet paper, bottled water (You cannot use the tap water to brush your teeth or drink so bottled water is a necessity.) and linens. My parents and my sister both had more issues than we did. I will cover those briefly as I’m sure they will be writing their own reviews. My sister and her family (2 adults with 2 young children) had to switch room’s immediately upon arrival due to the door in their room being broken open (as if someone tried to break in). The door frame was split and the room was unsecured. The staff did not seem to want to accommodate their request and acted as if it was no big deal. After showing the staff pictures of the broken door and a lot of persuasion they moved their room. They also requested 2 beds for their children the day of check in but those needs were not met until 10 Pm that night after multiple calls to front desk and trips to the lobby (that is a very long walk from our rooms). Once moved to their new room, they discovered that the toilet in their room did not work. It took the hotel until the next evening to fix it (that is almost 24 hours after arrival and after multiple other issues that they had to go without a toilet.) My parents had to go multiple days from arrival without service to their room. They were out of linens, toilet paper, water bottles etc. I will advise anyone traveling with elders to beware of the amount of walking you will need to do. I would suggest trying to secure a room closer to the center of the resort (if that is possible, we weren’t able to.) The lobby, restaurants, and pools are a very long walk from most of the rooms. The trolleys do not travel to pick you up from your rooms (at least they did not for us.) When walking through the resort you will have staff members asking you to upgrade your package or join their excursions! This is their job, but they will ask you every day and sometimes they can be a little persistent! The mosquitoes are definitely out of the staffs control so I won’t complain about it, just know to bring bug spray! Room service is not included in the all inclusive package and there is a bit of a gap between buffet times so if you have children who like to snack you will need to purchase snacks from the shop or they can get quite hangry in between meals! There is a pool restaurant but the service was not good with a very limited menu! The a la cart restaurants have very good food but unfortunately we had a wait a while for our food from what I am assuming to be a staffing issue? There was not air conditioning in the 3 that we visited (the steakhouse, Italian, and hibachi.) The steakhouse did serve wonderful food & I would recommend it, but be prepared to wait. The pools were very clean! Every morning on our way to breakfast we would find the staff cleaning the pool & it was always beautiful no matter how many people were in it the day before! The buffet had a decent variety! They did have a lot of similarities for breakfast but in my opinion everything tasted good! Lunch was decently changed around from day to day as well as dinner! The Al a cart restaurants (Although understaffed) we very delicious! The entertainment staff were wonderful to our children! Although our family has chosen to never return to this resort, I hope this review can help you decide for yourself! It wasn’t the worst vacation but it definitely wasn’t the best for us!
