Visited September 2021, amazing hotel for a solo traveler like me, looking for a calm and relax place to recharge. Almost just couples there, so you won't get annoyed, but will meet nice people from all around the world if you feel like it. Staff's beyond great and courteous and funny when needed and most of them seems very happy to see us back. Check in doe's need some love lol, but beyond that point, very nice everything else. My room was spacious and my bed super comfy, also well sound proof. Not a party place, nor a meatpacking district, perfect for what I was looking for. Thank's for letting me visit your beautiful country again.

We traveled from Sept 2nd to Sept 10th Let start off by remembering we are still in a pandemic life, so arrival at the airport is super smooth, transfer to hotel also fast and efficient. Check-in went very well, and I truly appreciate the staff letting me practice my Spanish and double checking in English on words the saw I was struggling with. At checking they took our departure date and had us fill out PRE-COVID Test information and advised us what day and what time our PCR test would be and that it would be occurring at the sister resort but unfortunately, they informed us to go to the clinic, but actually its at the Kids disco (the week we where their) I guess they might change locations dependant of guest to accommodate for the test with social distancing. The tests are between 10am and 12:00, so arrive a bit earlier to get a number so it goes quicker, we were done within 30 minutes. Guest services instructed us that we needed to reserve the restaurants on the resort with them to ensure we had a seat (for supper only), great thanks to Wander and Elizabeth for making this a pleasant experience and helping us book. One little issue arrived, we had booked the romantic dinner one night, but got a call in our room to advised that they had to cancel, and they quickly booked us anywhere we wanted, hey things happen. Speaking of restaurants, we didn’t eat at the Tao Cat (Asian) and the Barcelona Origines (seviche) therefore I can’t say if it was good or not but judging on all the other restaurants, I am certain that it was great, we where NEVER DISAPOINTED with anything that we chose to eat. For lunch we would alternate days by eating at Sorento (pizzeria), great wood fire pizzas always served with a smile and great service by Erick, my wife and I would split a pizza and salad, seeing the portions are huge or at Sea Blue where quick pub style food was always good. Many of the staff at the Sea Blue work the lunch service and the dinner service (or at the CataTapa when Sea Blue is closed) but Dario “el jefe”, Gary “la maquina”, Beatriz, Chissel made sure we never ran out of what ever we where eating…or drinking, ¡Muchas gracias amigos ¡todo estuvo genial! At the Thalassa, either at the breakfast buffet or at table service for dinner, food was always on point, special thanks to Lionel, Angel, Juan, John Luis and Nielsa for making every night we ate there a special event. Beach had sawgrass as indicated in many posts, but they are doing their best to keep it clean, but unfortunately like in everything nature tends to win, but that didn’t stop us from having daily walks on the beach, swimming was limited to 4 days out of 10, but the Beach Bar staff made sure we enjoyed our time at the beach, thank you Arelis, Pedro and Yenci for ensuring our drinks where always fresh and bending over backwards to get anything we wanted. After a long day at the beach, we would make our way to the Thalassa pool, where Carlos, Jefrey and Loreleil at Margarita’s bar would ensure to continue the great service we had received at the beach, the swimup bar itself is closed due to distancing rules, but they will come around the pool to bring you your favorite bebida. Erick and Moises from the entertainment team always great you with a smile and always ask how your day is going or went, as well as prompt you to participate in todays entertainment events, great job guys! Before dinner, for an “aperitivo”, one must go to the piano bar where Daniel, Flor and the gang will ensure that you get what you need to get your appetite going. Later after dinner, there was live entertainment outside near the pool. You can enjoy it by sipping on a few drinks eloquently prepared by Odiapo at the bar BO bar, or again from the piano bar (depending where you choose to sit outside.) The rooms are starting to show their age and could benefit from a refresh, but everything is clean, and the cleaning staff ensures all is clean and your mini bar is packed everyday with what you requested, a special shout out to Juan, porter at the front desk, we had a small issue with our room and instead of having us wait in line for the front desk (many people where checking in) he took our room number and ensured the problem was reported and resolved. ¡Muchísimas gracias! to everyone at the resort, from the gardeners, cleaners, servers, porters and managers, you ALL made our return to travelling after being grounded for 2 years a wonderful and unforgettable experience, can’t wait to return again and see all my Catalonia family again.

Not the best experience for solo travelers. This was my first time traveling solo since covid and while I was super excited before arriving, that excitement has dwindled in the last 24 hours. The receptionist was clearly agitated that it was just me staying in my room and asked several times if it was just me, grabbed other staff to bring to their attention it was only me staying in the room, and stated that the room was booked for two. I’m paying for the room, why does it bother you it is just me? The guy handling luggage also proceeded to ask me twice why I was vacationing alone. I tried to hide my irritation with the staff and just enjoy my trip. I booked their “privilege” swim up suite. Outside of the semi private pool, the room itself reminds me of a somewhat upgraded motel room. Not what I expected for an “upgraded suite”. The check in for my stay took about an hour. Decided to try room service to wind down from the jet lag- bad idea. I ordered a veggie pizza and Caesar salad…wasn’t edible at all. Later that night, ordered room service again and asked that someone clean the tub (which was disgusting) and fix the mini fridge in my room as it was broken and the beverages in their were room temperature. The fridge was replaced in about 20 minutes. The room service order was never put in. I had to call twice (1st time was after a full hour, 2nd time at 1:45). During the conversation, I also made reservations for dinner the following night at 7pm. That reservation was never put in and when I arrived at the restaurant, I was scolded by the hostess for not having some sort of ticket that was never given to me and not being on their list for the evening. I will say the saving grace at this resort are the staff at their spa (best massage ever and the girl who works the desk is very friendly and nice!), the guys at the bar near the main pool are very nice and the drinks are decent. Overall, my experience has not been the best and I doubt I would ever return or recommend this brand of hotels to a free. As a business owner, I wanted to unwind and enjoy some me time away from my stressful life and this “vacation” hasn’t done that so far.

We have had the best holidays for a very long time. All the staff is excellent, the room was amazing and the people worked hard to make everybody's time superior. It is really clean and well decorated. Food is great and tasty. My only concerns is the lack of options for vegetarians. The hotel is trying hard for eco solutions and they are conscious of the importance of the ecosystem.
