I did not realize how spoiled we have gotten going to our home resort in Playa del Carmen. When we arrived at the resort we were immediately taken to see another room which would have cost us an additional $2100. We did not want to upgrade. After all, we had traded a five star

We love DR. The Catalonia is a great all inclusive resort. The buffet along with spots for dining are spot on. The staff is awesome. Both rooms we stayed in were nicely furnished and setup. This trip we stayed in the room with the Infiniti pool. While the beach is decent, we

Great choices of poolside and beach locations. Very good food (mostly ) and plenty of choice. Terrific bar staff. I loved the `yoga and stretching classes ( all included ) Room a little dark with rather masculine furniture. Clean throughout, good bathroom products. Friendly Bar

Just go to the majestic chain. It’s much better. The staff is not attentive. They have no problem solving skills. There is no perks of going to this hotel. It’s is below a 3 star as far as staff and services go

They have too many restrictions for me at Catalonia Royal. If you like quiet that is the place to go. If you want some fun, go some where else.

We were in villa 40 with privileged junior squire with pool and it was lovely. We were on the side of the building facing the family resort which were much more private but the ones on the other side facing into the adult side got much more daytime sun. I think the villas are 3 stories total (each suite is 1 story except the exclusive suites with the infinity pools) and maybe 8-10 suites per floor in our building. I don’t believe villa 36 had the semi private pools... it’s privileged suites w/o pools. We were very happy with ours!
