This hotel exceeded all hopes!! The entire staff were so accommodating, friendly and professional. From the moment we arrived and met Carlos our personal concierge, to the chef at Bamboo to all the waitstaff/bartenders, especially Alcedo, every day was better than the last. Our departure flight was canceled and we were so happy to be able to enjoy one more day in paradise. Rooms were large, clean and beautiful. Attention to detail in every aspect is what you will find here.

We took our young adult children here with some of their friends and had a wonderful time. It was June so warm but perfect with the breeze on the beach. My husband played Los Corales and said it was amazing. The staff at the hotel specifically our villa managers Carlos, Loraine and Gerardo were amazingly helpful at helping to set things up or change reservations. The Villas are beautiful and have amazing views of the picture postcard beach. The pool area is pretty especially at night and the guys at the beach bar--Joandy, Israel, and Juan make sitting on that beach for lunch, snacks or drinks a breeze. They set everything up for you and make it about as easy as it gets at a beach resort. We also did a group barbcue one night outside our villa in front of the ocean--it was a night to remember and the resort went the distance in organizing everything. Two caveats: don't sign up for the excursions (sold by an outside vendor)--we did a snorkel day trip that was not worth it and way too long. Deep sea fishing was a rodeo with lots of choppy waves and not many fish. Also be aware as at many other beaches in the world they are dealing with large amounts of seaweed on the beaches and in the water. The resort rakes the beach multiple times a day but some days it was overwhelming. If you are looking for an elegant resort to chill out or play golf or tennis then this is your spot!

I have written only a handful of reviews, but felt compelled to write this account of my stay at Tortuga Bay. Few of my past vacations have delivered luxurious treatment from start to finish as I experienced in my short 5 day stay. Following are some of my observations: Arrival- A brilliant touch for Tortuga Bay is the VIP arrival. It really sets the tone for the rest of you trip. When you descend the stairs of your plane, you will be met by a representative of the VIP program and delivered to the VIP terminal where you will rest, and have a drink while you are cleared through customs and immigration, and your checked bags are retrieved (be sure to save your checked luggage tickets, as that is how they retrieve the luggage). You are then escorted to your Tortuga Bay transportation. For our driver, we were lucky enough to have Camacho for both arrival and departure. He is a wonderful representative of the resort, personable and informative on the short trip to the resort. Once you arrive, you are met by your villa manager, who will escort you to your villa and complete check-in. They also provided us with a golf cart for our use while we were there . We had Gerardo and Carlos as our villa managers. They can make any reservations that you need and are always available by a phone provided to you for that purpose. We utilized them several times, and they always delivered. Resort- The resort is a huge complex. Tortuga Bay is but one of the hotels in the complex, but certainly the most luxurious. It has its own private stretch of beach, a pool and restaurant (on Tortuga Bay property, but can be used by others , as well). There is golf, other restaurants, a spa a nature reserve and other activities available. We didn't explore the full reach of the complex on our short stay, but will range further on our next trip. Villas- We stayed in a two bedroom ground-floor villa, It was very roomy, spotlessly clean, with no signs of wear. It surpassed all of our needs. Daily Housekeeping- Ana and Berky were our housekeepers. They unobtrusively did their work and kept our villa spotless. Fitness Room-At the time of our stay, this room had to be reserved for your private use (make these reservations through your villa manager when you check in). The room is well equipped with stationary and recumbent bikes, a treadmill, stepper, and a weight machine, free weights and dumbbells. Spa-- My wife used the spa ( a short golf cart ride away) during our stay and said that she had the best deep tissue massage that she has ever had from Madelyn. We tried to secure her service again but she is quite busy. You should probably make reservations for spa times at your check-in, also. Food- We ate breakfast at Bamboo every day and had dinner there three times. We ate dinner at La Yola twice. We usually had lunch or a snack by the pool each day (the pool is located at the Bamboo restaurant and served by the same staff). The menu at both restaurants was diverse. Food preparation and presentation were perfect, and creative. The chefs are truly talented and are not limited in their creativity and desire to accommodate patrons' desires by the menu alone. We really left with a appreciation for their work. I should mention that there was enjoyable live music for dinner, each night that we were there, either at Bamboo or La Yola. There was also Dominican night on Monday, with Dominican dishes available and live music and vendors. Service- Is always "spot on" and performed in a personable and easy manner. At La Yola, Alcantara stood out. We must reserve our highest praise for the staff at Bamboo. We spent the most time with them, and they were unfailingly smiling and personable. They were justifiably proud of their resort and their role. They had me ordering my breakfasts in Spanish by the end of our stay. Their good humor was always present, and attentive to the client's needs. One small example is that my wife inquired at our first breakfast whether there was raisin toast. There was none, but Alcedo, our server, made note of it and for the rest of our stay, there was raisin toast. Speaking of Alcedo, he also provided enjoyable dinner entertainment with his saxophone during two nights of our stay, and then was there bright and early the next morning to serve us breakfast. We wondered if he slept at all. Alcedo represented the competence and "no boundaries" service performed by each member of the Bamboo staff. We had the pleasure to interact with Antonio, Elihu, Bianchi, Manuel, Jonathan, Rogelio and Beddey every day, either at meals or by the pool or bar. These people are gems, without whom a luxury experience wouldn't be possible. They are the heart of Tortuga Bay. To the prospective traveler, if you haven't tried Tortuga Bay, you are in for a treat. We will certainly return for a longer stay.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Thirty years of luxury travel under our belts, and this is our new favorite for the following reasons: The accommodations mimic a stay at a multi-million $ waterfront home on Palm Beach. Spectacular views, with only a nearly-private lawn between your patio and the water. Great food. Lovely, quiet guests. Ease of entry and departure (VIP service all the way). Excellent facilities (love Bamboo for both breakfast and in the evening with their beautiful bar and live music). But MOST IMPORTANTLY: THE STAFF. Just genuine, caring and amazing. JoJo is the best and makes the tastiest pina coladas ever...bust mostly, he's such a lovely person who will be running the show in no time. His buddies Isreal and Joandy are now our friends too and greet their jobs each day with immense pleasure. Ascedro at Bamboo quickly learned our names and preferences and seemed to love being their to greet us each morning. A tremendous treat was hearing him on the saxophone one evening at Bamboo. And Tomy made sure every tiny inquiry and request was met with a solid "YES, it would be our pleasure". I could go on and on...but in summary: it was simply the best vacation ever. We plan to return each year.

Feel so lucky for our ocean front getaway at the peaceful, luxurious Tortuga Bay. When we left the D.R. and were around thousands of people at the airport it was kind of startling because we felt so secluded and tranquil in beautiful Tortuga. Everything felt easy and luxurious. We were able to do everything our hearts desired from beach walks to snorkel tour to bike rides to getting to the beach or pool and always finding plenty of chairs and towels. We ate everywhere around Punta Cana and none of the food it outstanding but it's good.

Our family stay at Tortuga Bay was truly perfect! I can’t rave enough about our few days spent in paradise. From the VIP meet & greet arrival al the Punta Cana VIP Airport Lounge, to our spacious and beautiful villa suite overlooking the stunning ocean, and the top-notch service we received from each staff member, it was an unforgettable trip! The hotel grounds are immaculate and well spread out. Even though the hotel is oceanfront, it’s quaint and very private – at times we felt as we were the only guests on property which we loved. I travelled with my son (7 years-old) and was afraid the property may be too small and not have many activities for him to enjoy, but I was wrong. They provided us with our own golf cart, and it gave us the freedom to explore the entire Punta Cana Resorts grounds and participate in many of the nearby activities and restaurants. We made our way to the Ecological Reserve to hike through the lush forest and swim in the crystal-clear lagoons we encountered. We also loved checking out Playa Blanca beach club. It was a great day spent on the beach, watching the kite surfers, kayaking and at their restaurant they serve some of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Also, the hotel provided us each a bicycle during our stay which gave us the opportunity to take scenic rides and discover hidden beach spots. Our favorite thing to do was just relaxing on the beach and drinking passion fruit mojitos – big shout out to Israel who took great care of our family at the beach of Tortuga Bay. He was amazing!! We didn’t play golf on this trip, but I checked out their amazing golf courses (especially Corales) and it was gorgeous. On my next visit, it’s on my list! By the way, we really enjoyed La Yola restaurant, and it’s a must visit if you stay at Tortuga Bay! Also, breakfast at Bamboo each morning was delicious. Elihou was our server every morning. Always happy to greet us and by the second day he felt like family. Tip: order the Desayuno Dominicano for a true authentic Dominican breakfast! We could not have asked for a better vacation and I’m so thankful to our villa managers – Gerardo, Fary and Ciara – for ensuring we had an amazing stay! We can’t wait to return!!

The hotel’s infrastructure and rooms are so beautiful, the staff are ever so pleasant, efficient and accommodating! Everyone and with special mention to Gerald, Fary and my driver (oops i forgot his name) really went out of their way to make my stay an incredible experience. Fary gave me a birthday surprise and I will forever cherish the memories!Going through customs was a breeze because there’s a special VIP room for Tortuga Bay’s hotel guest . This hotel truly deserves 6 stars and I am so grateful for being able to spend a marvellous week in Punta Cana!

This was our first trip here after hearing wonderful things for years from my sister and her husband. The VIP service at the airport is stellar. We were whisked though immigration/customs on the way in and on departure, led to a private lounge inside VIP lounge which was quiet (the regular VIP area was a crowded zoo) and relaxing before the flight. From the moment we got there to celebrate my birthday, it was a very special experience. The staff surprised us with a cake, decorations, and champagne. We stayed in a junior suite with Ocean view and it was gorgeous. The suite is well appointed, with a gorgeous view. It has two bathrooms and small kitchenette with e a freezer with and microwave. The bed was sooooo comfortable and firm. We slept like babies. Note the water from the tap is non-potable, but they provide and replenish the bottled water in the room. Our villa managers, Gerardo and Carlos and Ciara were available by phone that was provided for this purpose. Gerardo was super helpful in finding some snorkel gear and Carlos helped us when we needed to change a reservation. We weren’t there that long, but they made us feel so taken care of. The beach is peaceful and the water is clear. Service on the beach is impeccable. (Thanks,Israel). The kayaks are a good time. The Bamboo restaurant has a tasty breakfast and wonderful bar. Beddy, Rousker, Alcedo (check out his saxophone skills at La Yola, if you can), Antonio, Jonathan and everyone at Bamboo also made our stay special. They were friendly, engaging and fun. Also, Beddy and Gerardo arranged for one more birthday surprise and it was awesome. I really appreciated how special the staff made my birthday ! Here are a few tips: -Bring sunscreen and insect repellent. This is a tropical place and they don’t sell these on property. -There is a little market about 10 minutes away and your villa manager can arrange a trip for sundries and a few groceries. We didn’t do this but easily could have. -I would recommend water shoes if you have them for the ocean as it can be a bit rocky in a few places. - There is a gratuity added on by law and which is shared among the staff but highly recommend having some cash available if you want to tip sometimes individually. Not expected but we wanted to. Also, I would recommend handling this with your villa manager separately, too, if you feel you had exceptional service. There is an ATM behind the reception office outside of you need it. All in all, this resort is a quiet, peaceful, exclusive and gorgeous place to unwind and be treated like cherished family. I can’t wait to go back !

We cannot begin to describe how wonderful our recent stay at Tortuga Bay was. Being whisked through customs, ushered into a private lounge and then driven to our room 10 minutes away was worth every penny. The resort is beautiful and we felt that the service was over the top…..just about the best we have ever experienced. The staff were all so caring and knowledgeable and went above and beyond, especially our butler Carlos. We loved the ease of getting everywhere with our golf cart, thought that the food at all of the restaurants were delicious and will never forget the amazing view from our villa. Will be back as soon as we can get there.
