My husband and I had a wonderful time. It was quiet and beautiful. Everything was perfect but especially the service from the incredible staff. Special shout out to Israel, Antonio, Carlos, Manuel, Juan, Loraine, Bernardo and the waiter whose name begins with a Y that I just can't remember. Everyone was friendly and attentive.

Just got back from spending two nights at Tortuga Bay with my daughter, a friend and her daughter. We stayed in a two-bedroom beachfront villa. The service at this hotel is exceptional. Each villa has a villa manager and they give you a phone you can use to contact them at all times. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and they make logistics easy. They helped us to arrange transportation from Santo Domingo to the hotel, took us to the mall, arranged our pre-departure COVID tests and then we got the VIP treatment through the Punta Cana airport on our return. I wasn’t expecting the airport VIP treatment and that was REALLY nice considering all the hoops Americans have to jump through to get home with testing, etc. Was super easy to get home and we had access to the VIP lounge in the airport. The rooms and grounds were all very nice. They also give everyone a golf cart to drive around while you are there which was also very convenient because we used it to check out some other beaches and hotels while we were there. Food in the restaurant for dinner was good, albeit kind of pricey. They had good wine selections by the bottle but the wine selections by the glass were terrible. All stuff that would be $10 by the bottle in America. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. We were there as tropical storm Elsa was coming through and luckily it wasn’t too bad but they did have to put rugs up against the door thresholds because they were concerned water might come in which I thought was a little weird considering tropical storms have to be a regular occurrence there. All in all, the hotel is very nice. Here is why I’m only giving it four stars....the beaches were totally unusable due to the seaweed. I did not realize going into it that seaweed is an issue there in the summer and I don’t think it was when we booked about five weeks ago. The beaches are absolutely choked with seaweed and because of the way the bay is situated it can’t go anywhere unless they get machines out to get it. They had a surfraker out doing something throughout the day but I couldn’t figure out what it was accomplishing because the seaweed seemed to stay the same. I was a little disappointed that with a hotel of this class they didn’t seem to be out doing everything they could to at least clear the beaches for the guests. Maybe it was just too voluminous and since there was so much coming in from the water it was a moot point? I’ve been to beaches in Mexico during seaweed season before and they have an army of people up first thing in the morning cleaning it up so the guests can use the beach. We ended up going to the Westin and being able to access the nice water from their beach. Not sure if it’s because they are sort of on a point, they have more resources to hire people to clean it up or what. The presence of the seaweed itself is of course not the hotel’s fault. But there didn’t seem to be much effort to clean it up at all so guests could enjoy the beach. I enjoyed the DR because we spent two days in the capital city as well and got to experience the culture which I’m glad we did. It would have been very disappointing to spend our entire vacation in Punta Cana and not have been able to use the beach at all. As far as the water goes, I’ve been to quite a few Caribbean islands and the DR is definitely not the best water I’ve seen. I realize the presence of Elsa may have affected that. I will probably not be going back to the DR and will instead try out some other islands or go back to the Bahamas or the Turks & Caicos. Very nice hotel with outstanding service but if the beach is what you are after you need to call before you go and ask them to send you pictures of the beach ahead of time. We would have appreciated that heads up.

We booked a beachfront junior suite for 6 nights online. The process was easy and hassle free. Our emails were answered promptly. The entire experience from the time we arrived to departure was awesome! We were warmly greeted by staff as soon as we walked off the plane. They took us to private lounge on a golf cart. Immigration and baggage claim was handled while we waited in the lounge. Snacks, beer and beverages were served while we waited. Transfers to and from the airport are by private vehicle compliments of the hotel. The villa manager introduced himself, showed us our villa and checked us in. The room is clean, spacious and well maintained. There is an ice maker and microwave in addition to the usual hot water pot and coffee maker. It comes with two full bathrooms. Bath amenities are Hermes. There are two outdoor spaces as well- an area for sitting/dining and an area with a spa hot tub. Views of the Caribbean Sea are magnificent. B,L and dinner are served at the Bamboo restaurant. Food, drinks and service are very good. The Ojos Indigenas Reserve, Six Senses Spa and other restaurants are only a short golf cart drive from the hotel. We enjoyed exploring the resort area driving in a golf cart. Wifi connection is stable throughout the property. The facilities/landscaping are lush and well maintained. There is a sea grass issue this time of year. The hotel does a good job minimizing the impact on guests. Staff are pleasant and always ready to assist. They made a big difference in making us feel at home. We will definitely be back for more.

Everything about our stay was great - from the VIP airport transfer service to the room and amenities to the personalized service received from our villa managers, Carlos and Tomy. Anything you need is handled promptly by the villa managers, whether its dinner reservations, excursion plans, or in-room massage and yoga. Waitstaff and bartenders are friendly and we really enjoyed our service from Joseph on the beach. This was a truly relaxing trip and we loved every minute!
