Ideal hotel to spend several days away from the routine. It's a little crowded place which is ideal for people who want to be sedentary away from the crowd. The beach is beautiful is located in the Marina Cap Cana. The guest services was excellent very friendly all. It must be aware that the reception is open until 22:30. The parking is underground and you should ask which parking will be yours to avoid causing inconvenience with the assigned parking of the residents or owners of the site. They should keep in mind that this accommodation doesn't include breakfast or bars or any other type of entertainment since the purpose is to be in a relaxed atmosphere.
My sister and I had 10 nights staying at Punta Palmera Cap Cana in January 2020 and the only thing we were complaining about at the end was that we couldn't stay longer. The resort exceeded our expectations on all accounts. With a beautifully tranquil private beach, a glorious pool, spectacular views and super friendly staff we couldn't have asked for more from our stay. They even upgraded us on our 4th night and we moved to a 2nd floor apartment with a very well equipped kitchen, a nice sofa area with TV, a massive double bed, great shower and balcony looking out over the ocean (with a jacuzzi!). Our stay was incredibly relaxing and peaceful and we look forward to returning again soon. Thank you very much Cristele!
Very good properties, stayed in 2 different rooms, very specious and we'll equipped. Minor issues like back door didn't close properly, but overall great stay. It is very quiet, if that is what you are after is perfect. Breakfast is good and staff are nice, it does take a while, you have to wait.
The room was ok. Beds were good but the pillows were very bad. The place was not well maintained. Some buildings are under construction or renovation what makes an ugly appearance of the place Service was poor and the breakfast bad as well.
Hopefully you won't have the same experience. It was $60 to get anywhere outside of Cap Cana, even just 15 minutes. Uber isn't allowed in this area so the taxi's are taking advantage of the captive, high dollar tourists. In regards to the property and our unit, the Air conditioner was not working and no one was available to fix it No suitcase trey, no tables, no where to put your stuff even in a large room. Sliding door lock rusted and difficult. Jacuzzi cold Bad room smell. Not something you would expect in this area.
I don’t understand how this hotel have so many good reviews. If you are planning to stay here, DON’T! I made a reservation for my boyfriend’s birthday, I am Dominican (so I understand that Cap Cana is a good area) and my boyfriend lives in North Carolina. I wanted to do something special for him so I booked from Feb 7th to Feb 10th, 2019. Worst experience ever!! First off they didn’t give me the room that I booked. There was a situation with the hot water. No internet in the room (I was supposed to close a deal to build a website and I couldn’t). There is a construction going on, hammering and drilling all day long! Unbelievable. We rented bikes and they were broken, they refused to give us a full refund for bikes we had to return. (By their logic we used the bikes for one hour, each hour was $5 dollars=$10, we paid $50, they returned only $30. When I tried to explain to them the amount was $40 because “mathematics” the Manager shut me up) The breakfast was awful, we didn’t even bother to eat at the restaurants there. The cleaning staff was very polite and helpful and so were the security guards. But the General Manager Mauricio was very rude, he was unapologetic and I think he was even trying to get us more upset! I have never had such a bad experience. No wonder why the hotel was empty! The beach is not clean due to the construction that is going on... the chair longs at the beach are broken. NEVER AGAIN! They gave us a good room the last night and also told us there would be a one night refund, am still waiting. …
When I arrived I was expecting the worst having read all the comments on this site and Expedia where I booked it however I would have to say all in all I was pleasantly surprised. It is true that there is building going on (I have to say having been to Dominican Republic 4 times in the last two years there is building work in even the nicest hotels) but after a room change (some of the things in the room had issues and were probably quite old) I was literally looking at paradise from my bedroom every morning. If you want to make the most of this trip take my advice: 1) hire a car because it is honestly more cost effective, the taxis at the resort are an absolute rip off and there are no restaurants you can walk to even within Cap Cana (the closest is API beach that you will need a golf buggy to get to) 2) go food shopping as soon as you arrive (nationale is the closest large supermarket but there is also a smaller mini market at the entrance of cap cana that I would honestly recommend going to instead as it has everything you need and a pharmacy) 3) you are about half an hour from anywhere good unless you want to hang out in Beron (trust me you don’t) my advice is to go out in bavaro and explore there it’s nice whether you go to San Juan shopping centre or down to bavaro beach. 4) must do excursions are Saona Island, Terracross buggies, coco bongo, water park at downtown punta cana. Don’t go horse riding because the state of the horses will make you cry 5) places to eat at cap cana resort are API Beach (do eat the pizza I literally didn’t know a pizza could go so wrong), if you head to juanillo beach within Cap Cana there are some restaurants there by the beach, the name escapes me but I think it’s called taste of something and is super fun. Outside of cap cana I would recommend going to pearl beach (20 min drive) it’s beautiful and the food is great. Also in bavaro there is a wonderful Indian if you fancy that but Outback Steakhouse is the best steak I’ve ever had (Victoria filet) also a ten minute drive away they have blue mall if you want to eat out or go shopping without going to far away The staff in Punta palmera are super helpful especially Anissia who was literally my lifeline while I was there. The hotel manager and the tall Spanish guy who trained everyone were also incredibly kind and helpful. Just be prepared to spend a lot of money if you don’t plan on renting a car and haven’t prepared with food. Hope this helps and if you have any questions ask away …
We hosted all of our wedding guests here to stay during our destination wedding in Cap Cana for a wonderful and fun week. We had about 60 guests and Punta Palmera was the perfect location to host a large group of people. It is not your conventional hotel and thus the perfect setting if you are looking for a private, secluded area where your group can mingle and enjoy themselves without the crowds you would usually find at the all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. Our guest felt that they had an exclusive, luxury property all to themselves. The area was serene and peaceful, and right on the water. The apartments were spacious, nicely decorated, and extremely accommodating! We were able to host a "Welcome party" on the property the night before the wedding with the help of the wonderful staff. We also even took our "First look" photos on the property. The owner, Alejandro and the coordinator, Gerardo, were both wonderful to work with! We are very grateful to them for making our wedding week memorable! Emely & Brandin…
These great apartments overlooking the sea/beach and with an amazing view of the pool are just about that. The place is beautiful and has potential but half the project is unfinished which kind of leta you down. You feel like walking through a ghost town. I personally just love going because of the view from the pool and because its usually quiet, but the beach is never very clean. They do have restaurant service at the pool which is a plus, but if they took better care of it, it would definitely be a lot better!
My visit to the hotel was kind of the first time in Dominican Republic. Didn’t knew where is everything. Booked it through booking and then discovered that cap Cana is an extremely nice (let’s say village or compound) it got a very high security which is good. But it is far from Bavaro (where you can find everything) so if you want to stay within the hotel I would say this is a good place. The hotel is very good, they have everything, the stuff is friendly and always laughing. The room is clean, and awesome. I had a room overlooking the ocean but not on the first line but I included a jacuzzi during my booking so it was awesome. I think families will like it very much. Pool is not bad I didn’t swim but looks like nice. The good in cap Cana everything is accessible by club car at all the hotels.…
