My family and I stayed at the Royalton Splash from 6/20-6/24. It took over 3 hours for us to check in, which indicated the rest of the time there would not be great. We payed to stay at an all inclusive resort, however, on some days some restaurants were closed which was not appreciative. My room was infested with black flies and sewer flies with a horrible sewage smell. Took them forever to change my room. We also requested a handicap room for one of our guest during booking due to her not being able to walk and they gave her a room on the second floor and acted as if they could not change it. The staff at the buffet was very rude at times. The rooms are old and need updating, they were also not cleaned properly. This resort makes me not ever want to return to Punta Cana in fear of the next resort being the same way. I truly need to find a way to be refunded some of my money for this resort.

Hotel's Favorite
Outstanding hotel with lovely, welcoming staff who completely made our holiday. Loads of space around the pools with loungers available through the day. Lovely spacious rooms with comfortable beds, good showers, mini bar, working safe and balcony. Immaculate hotel and grounds with reduced capacity in restaurants and face coverings worn by all staff and guests when inside. Complex is big and joined to the Royalton Punta Cana - all lovely to walk around though there is a frequent shuttle (open sided small train so now covid concern there). We managed to get in our 10000 steps every day just wondering around with the kids and walking on the beach so easy to stay active if that’s your thing (we also used the gym), or just kick back and relax if you rather! Restaurant wise there are a number that you can use whilst staying at splash - our favourite was the Italian over at Royalton right next to the beach - buffet at lunch and al a carte dinner. Mexican (splash) has a good atmosphere - tasty food but small portions. We didn’t like the food so much at the Italian at Splash but it’s a nice place to sit. Tip - Beans at Splash does ice cream! We thought only scoops at Royalton did until our last day! Both are great for grabbing a coffee and cake if you prefer for breakfast or a much needed snack after swimming. The buffet restaurant has a great selection of tasty food, is spacious so not too crowded or noisy and again the staff were all great. The pools are fantastic, huge and well kept. No lifeguard if that’s important to you but tons of staff on hand. The water park is amazing - our kids are 11 and 15 and plenty to keep them occupied though the smaller kids area also looked fantastic, great family fun, also plenty of really good lifeguards here. The staff at both hotels are amazing - really helpful and friendly which we find makes a huge difference to a holiday. Some tips were given by us and others but not all, and we didn’t feel pressure to do so. One of our favourite parts of the hotel was the variation of seating and bar areas - we wondered around the resorts in the evening and sat at different places each time to take in the atmosphere, listen to live music or just relax - the bar up the stairs at Royalton and the main square are gorgeous places to sit and lovely to see so many people having a good time but we never felt uncomfortable with keeping distance due to covid. The beach is gorgeous, sea great for swimming in (strong undertow so be careful with children), never felt hassled by sellers on the beach and felt safe at all times. Fully recommend!

It's total ripoff.. I have been in Punta Cana several times in the past at multiple average to hi-end resorts so we tried this time at this resort based on the rating of trip advisor & Apple vacation.. Our family of 14 stayed at Royalton Splash with diamond club upgrade include the butler service from Jun/22 - Jun/29! This time would be our family reunion week & We have 5 rooms in section 29 . 1. Room - 2/5 All The room are not well maintained , kind of smelly & shown sign of rundown.. The A/C has been capped at 18 C degree.. Lighting is not well placed & furnitures should be replaced . 2. Food - 2/5 All the restaurants both Splash & Punta Cana including buffets & A-la-carte so called hi-end restaurants have NO A/C since we arrived till now (Jun/26).. buffet food at both resorts is OK but limited.. Food at some a la carte we had tried (mexico, italian, Hunter Steak) is average as long they are available for you to enjoy.. (supply issue?) 3. Service - 1/5 This area should be improved tremendously if they want to stay in business. - A la carte restaurants definitely required to have much better service - both resorts have very limited number of spots available even the resorts are at 30-40% capacity.. It seems to me they purposely reduce the # of people working and the quality of service on restaurants to keep the cost down. The a la carte restaurants mgr &'receptionist acting as gatekeeper to limiting the # of services / reservation.. - The beach is nice and Diamond club section is OK for 30-40% capacity. - The checkin counter for non-diamond is crowded , long line & only 2 employees working at the max and management does not seem to have any intention to correct it.. The Diamond club checkin is fine and this is only the good point i see so far.. - the so called "butler service" is quite a joke & provide very limited service even with handsome tips. More excuses than request is done as you expected! 4. Entertainment - Waterpark is great for everyone but evening shows are almost non-existing at both resorts (Splash & Punta Cana) .. 5. Transportation between the 2 resorts - 2/5 you could walk but for senior poeple require transport tram, I found this service should be provided more often.. In summary, these 2 resorts (Royalton Splash & Royalton Punta Cana) are way overrated (even with Apple vacation rated as 6 gold apples) & i recommend you would spend your vacation somewhere else.. The resorts opened to local residents more than should be and focus on cut cost in lieu of service & brand reputation.. These should NOT be rated as luxury resorts at all with the current conditions..

We stayed at this resort June 18-25, 2022. It is a beautiful resort. The grounds are very well maintained & the food at the specialty restaurants was good. Our butler, Jesus, exceeded our needs and kept in touch with us daily. Everyone was really nice & helpful. Of course there were a few hiccups along the way, but we made the most out of our vacation. I would recommend this resort.

Our vacation at Royalton Splash Resort was wonderful! We upgraded to Diamond Club for our last 4 days of our stay. Jonathan was our Butler and he made everything so smooth. Our waiter from 3 years ago was still working there- Maykel. He remembered some of us and as always gave us wonderful service. Already planning on a 2023 trip back.

Edwin is just awesome. And welcomed us to royalton splash. He took great care of our family and our stay. We also had Juana as a server at most of our meals. She was always smiling and sweet. The people here are just wonderful. It would be better if there was air conditioning in the restaurants. It was generally hot inside. The triple tram has a loose connection that drags the ground it would be simple to attach a wheel to keep it from dragging and tearing up the street and walkways. The royalton should open a custom tee shirt shop where you can pick the size and the decal on the shirt. It would be very lucrative as well. We had a wonderful trip with you. Thank you so much Byron

Royalton Splash provided us a fun family vacation for 2022. The weather was gorgeous all week. Our son really enjoyed the water park. During the week the lines were very short and one could get on the slides over and over again quickly. We upgraded to Diamond club, which I highly recommend if it’s within your budget. Our butler Edwin was fantastic. I think his service really helped to maximize our experience here especially for dinner reservations. I’m not sure that one would get into everything they want without the Diamond club upgrade, which includes butler service.

I will start with we are not picky people. I had the pleasure of taking our family of 12 here for our 30th wedding anniversary. We did end up at checkin upgrading everyone to DC so that no oner had to worry about where they could and could not go. It was well worth it as for the most part we had the DC pool on Splash side almost all to ourselves. 1st...yes be patient...it is the slowest check in I ever experienced. One issue would be that the young lady checking us in Olida. (probably not right) was checking in more then one group at a time...I would suggest taking one group at a time . She was very pleasant through the whole process though...I'm sure it helps we are patient. It took a LONG time. Dc upgrade on TV menu says you can order bottle to your room...we tried for 6 days and supposedly our butler tried but we never received...as DC you get a pillow menu , we tried that too and never received. So the private pool and Hunter restaurant is what we got out of up grading to DC As far as the "Butler" I will not mention names but the only thing he did was make our dinner reservations and did put balloons in our room for our anniversary. We have been to many resorts for our other anniversaries and seem to have gotten way better benefits such as special desserts etc on anniversary not a deal breaker ... Hunter was the best meal we received ...make sure you request a table outside as the restaurants are very warm. Under the sea was the worst. The best service we received was on our last night we did the buffet on PC side and I have NEVER received such great service as we did with the gentleman that was taking care of our table, he was pulling chairs out for women, filling glasses repeatedly, And of course I did not get his name ...he was probable 50 ish balding...if you know who I'm talking about please give him big koodos!!!! We left him the biggest tip out of anyone as he went above and beyond his requirements. He made us feel like we were dining in a 10 star restaurant. The water park is fun...get there early (9AM) if you want to secure any shade. There is definitely not enough umbrellas in the park. The adult slides were a hoot. Love the singing bartender at splash pool...of course without my phone I could not get names. And I LOVED that he got agitated with the drunks splashing water all over bar AND him. Treat people with respect. The PC side is a little walk from splash but we did it with kids no problem...people waited 15 minutes for trolly when they could get there in 5 minutes. Cigar shop will start prices at at least double what they really want. Rooms were nice, clean and bed was comfy. Entertainment for kids was fun for our granddaughters. All and all I would return ...we had a blast

Overall experience was very good! Our butler was Gilberto and he was top notched, he eliminated alot of hassle for us and took care of all the reservations for us. He went out of his way to make our daughters first experience unbelievable! The only complaint I would give is Bella Cucina Italian restaurant was so so. We will be back again very soon and looking forward to Gilberto to take care of us again. Please ask for him if you have a chance 😊
