Loved the resort, staff and amenties. We did upgrade to the Xhale club and the room was big and well stocked. Beach area was great with private waiter service. All of the food was fantastic and we never waited to eat with the Xhale restaurants. The Steak Grill turns into a Dominican cuisine restaurant for part of the week. Loved the variety. The evening entertainment was great. Even though reviews talk about it being a party resort there are plenty of places to go for a quiet spot (pool, Xhale lounge, beach.)
Very happy with the adult only atmosphere. You are next to Dreams which is not adult only. Staffing at Breathless did a great job on the beach area making sure the adult only atmosphere was maintained. We were checked on by several staff members making sure we were getting drinks and enjoying the experience.
Avoid the "resort credit" as it very misleading. They try to get you to go to a timeshare meeting (which we avoided) and the $200 is actually small $10-$20 increments that can only be spent on different days at different places. Saving $20 on a $200 spa treatment is not worth the hassle. If you get a paper key to redeem: don't do it.

If you are not a late night person, make sure you do not get put into an even numbered room in building 1100. We were assigned 1102 which faced the the stage/dance area and the volume of the music did not allow us to get to sleep until 1:00am when they "shut it down". On day 3, they finally moved us to 1109 (other side of the building) and the music and volume was not an issue. The restaurants were very good and the beach/ocean was gorgeous. You can walk a mile in either direction on the soft sandy beaches and the water is very clean and warm. Be prepared to get up at 7:00am or earlier to put out your towels and reserve your lounge if you are looking for a specific area at the pool or beach. If you show up at 10:00am or after and you may not get a spot to chill. Very nice that you can use the Dreams restaurants and go to their shows as well. Also a nice break to hit the water park between them for a nice change of pace from the pool/beach. The pools are quite active with music and games during the day...my wife and I were more into relaxing than the dance/games/music scene. We did a couples massage at the spa for $329 but it was well worth it and highly recommended. Overall a very nice resort...maybe a bit too much on the party side if you are just looking to relax and chill.

A modern, attractive, clean and well-maintained resort, about 45 minutes away from Punta Cana airport. Staff are polite and friendly. Superb accessibility everywhere for guests with reduced mobility (walkers, wheelchairs, canes). Food quality varies from excellent to mediocre, depending on which of the many restaurants you choose to eat at. Avoid the ‘Spoons’ buffet. Everywhere else, the steaks are superb.
This is without question a “party all the time” resort that caters to a hard-drinking, hard-partying crowd typically made up of couples between 25 & 50 years old, which means it is not the place to go if you want peace, quiet, and tranquility. Instead, you will hear techno-disco music with exaggerated bass pumping out all day long in the central common area. This, combined with the all-concrete, all hard surface construction of the rooms and buildings, means that this is a very noisy hotel 24 hours a day. Staff have not been trained to speak quietly or turn walkie-talkie volume down when in hotel hallways and the result is intrusive and annoying noise in the rooms all the time, night and day.
There is a lot of cost-cutting going on at this resort under the guise of “using modern technology”. There are no printed documents of any kind in the rooms, no room service menus, no resort maps, and no welcome documentation. At all the restaurants guests are encouraged to use a cell phone to scan a bar code to read the menu on their phone, rather than being offered a conventional printed menu. The resort uses a website rather than an ‘app’ for all interaction with guests, which means that if you don’t bring a cellphone with you and keep it with you all the time, you will suffer.
Wi-Fi speeds are slow, capped at a maximum 3.6 Mb/s, but it is rare to actually achieve that speed.
The Xhale premium section of the hotel doesn’t appear to offer guests much beyond twice daily housekeeping service and a Jacuzzi tub on the room balcony. There are no hors d'oeuvres or light snacks in the Xhale lounges, just a tired selection of the same small pastries every day.
If you go, ask for a room with a ‘garden’ view, not a ‘pool’ view. Also ask for a room with double doors between the sleeping area and the hallway. These two choices will reduce unwanted noise during the day and nighttime, respectively.

On the other hand it is a hotel with only noisy American tourists, I have not met any French, I have never seen so much noise in a hotel. They have no respect for others, speak loudly, laugh loudly, slam doors, listen to their music on their phones without headphones, they are at home!! In restaurants avoid peak hours otherwise you don’t hear yourself talking about horror at the table. In the corridors of the hotel a crazy noise. It is not a quiet hotel there is always very loud music around the pools, if you want to rest choose another hotel because disappointment. Otherwise the employees are nice smiling and helpful and the rooms clean. A word of advice beware of the sellers on the beaches and the pickers who insist on bringing you to their shop, we get ripped off from everywhere. For example you buy some souvenirs and the seller tells you 100€ the whole and when paying on his calculator he types the price in pesos (supposed to be 6066 pesos) and he put 7500 pesos, we could not check with the phone because no wifi in his shop so we got screwed 23€ calculate everything before. Also we were looking for where to eat grilled lobster, the hammer of this shop took us to a boui-boui we showed him what we wanted on the menu to come eat there the next lunch, when we arrived the next day we were served a dish in sauce and the hammer pretended not to understand so we got up and left directly without paying it was stupid but seeing that he had already scammed us the day before he said nothing. Beware of everyone there. I will never go back.

Our group of friends went to Breathless because it was billed as "DJ month". Turns out the "DJ" was an employee who was using a laptop to play songs off the internet. At least he was playing pretty decent music at the pool.
The property was beautiful, beaches and rooms and bathrooms clean. The staff were very nice, polite. We had a club level room and had a concierge which was fun. Elis was great - she kept up with our water bottle needs and helped book restaurant reservations. We also had amazing service from Angel at the pool all week - seems like he worked there the entire time without a break! One of our friends never even saw their concierge and he never checked on him, however. We also had couples say the bartenders were not very helpful although we personally had no problems there. The dealers in the small casino looked extremely depressed to be there.
We usually expect the restaurants at an all inclusive to be hit or miss. Most are average, and you can find at least one or two that are decent or even really good. Unfortunately the restaurants at Breathless were all poor quality. The hibachi restaurant had fresh sushi which was our favorite meal, but the hibachi, while entertaining, was rather flavorless and chewy. The special surf and turf dinner for club level guests was disappointing, my steak was like something you might get off a buffet at a Golden Corral. The French restaurant was good.
The weirdest thing was half the restaurants were closed each night. You could go to Dreams which was connected but it was always a little confusing when things were open.
The shows were pretty good - the circus show was impressive.
Other negatives - The entire resort seemed to shut down by 10 pm. There was usually a show or activity by the pool most nights at 9:30 but after that, no one was allowed to swim in the very nicely lit and clean pools. They had a champagne spray party at the pool one afternoon with about 2 seconds of champagne from one round of bottles and about 5 minutes of CO2 canister steam and that was it.
Since we are from Texas, it was a very long ordeal to get to the Dominican Republic to stay in a resort with a beach and a pool (and below average food) when we can do the same thing within a 2 hour flight to Cancun. We were told by a friend who is a native of the DR not to leave the resort and there were employees at the edge of the resort one evening that told our friends if they wanted to explore beyond the resort they would have to sign a waiver so we did not explore the local area at all.
Again, the employees all worked really hard to keep the resort very clean and they were all friendly, so nothing against the staff at all!

We stayed for 7 nights in January 2025 and our trip was perfect. The property is very well maintained and we loved how mature the palm trees are. It is very apparent that the upkeeping of the resort is a high priority.
For us the food was give or take. We did not really enjoy the breakfast but had great experiences for our dinners. For lunch we mostly ate at the Barefoot Grill as we loved the hamburgers, french fries, and ice cream cones.
The beach was amazing, we were Xhale Club and we enjoyed that part of the beach, we even did some snorkling inbetween Breathless and Onyx and saw a ton of fish. We swam in most of the pools and enjoyed the main pool and party pool the most.
Occasionally the service at the bars was a little slow but nothing that impacted our stay. We had an amazing waiter our whole time there, Angel who made our stay so fun. He did an amazing job keeping up with our group of 22 people. He always recognized us and made sure we had what we needed even when the pool was packed, especially during the Neon Party on Friday night.
We loved the night life here. Every night had a different show that we loved and then we would often go upstairs for the DJ afterwards. If you are looking to have a fun time, especially at night then this is the place to go. However, even when we went back to our room before the entertainment was over, we could not hear the music with our garden view room. This resort had the best nightlife that we have experienced.
Since we were Xhale club, we also had a butler, Yimi. Yimi was amazing. He was quick to respond to our text messages and was somehow able to get reservations for our very large group every night that we wanted them, which we know was not an easy thing. He made our stay that much better.
Overall, we would go to this resort again (if we liked going back to places more than once). It was such an amazing time with an amazing group of people!

Fabulous hotel. Don’t be put off by the bad reviews, if you’re a TUI customer. We stayed in a tropical allure room (3346) on top floor overlooking the Dreams hotel next door. Quiet room, cool and dark so we slept really well. The room has been modernised, we assume TUI clients are allocated these rooms. We couldn’t hear the evening entertainment (except pool party on a Friday) . The mini bar is restocked daily and turndown service nightly bring extra water bottles and fresh towels. Coffee filter sachets are provided too. The room service was quick and good. TV in the room has enough English channels . The bed is huge with plenty of pillows. Food in the main buffet restaurant at breakfast & lunch is freshly cooked, plenty of choice. The beach/pool grill is ok for burgers, nachos and pizza. We can use the Dreams restaurants too, their Evening a la cartes are excellent,slightly better than the Breathless 1s, with different choices. Food could be hotter across all restaurants, especially the outside tables as it’s a breezy island so that adds to the problem of cold food. All can be seen in the hotel App. All-inc wine is good, 2 choices red ,white & rose wine. The bar has good choice of premium spirits, bars are busy at night but there are servers taking your order from your seats. Entertainment isn’t great but if there’s a band on they’re ok. The resort tends to cater for younger party people who fly in for the weekend so it’s generally busier then. But you can always find seats . Couple of pools; main pool with DJ is the busiest party place, the other pool isn’t as loud but still loud enough, we however found the beach lovely with soft pale sand, gently shelving sea with great waves, it was warm enough to drift into, warmer than the pool! Waiter service on the beach too, they were very attentive. We didn’t tip every time , but they were happy enough. Plenty of comfy beds on the beach too. You can walk along the beach for at least 20mins either way of the hotel, and beyond, so nice to do this in the Caribbean and feel safe. This resort is about 40mins from the airport in a private taxi(booking.com £28 return) the area is being developed further with more hotels coming. Weather was great in January, 30 degrees, however,umbrella in room if it rains . We would rate this hotel 5* , enjoy your holiday.

Started off with a check in at the Xhale club lounge our room was ready, which was pretty exciting considering that there were a few people whose rooms were not ready and this was at 1 pm. The rooms are pretty standard nothing exceptional, but it was clean and roomy, and I loved the feature of having the bedroom completely closed off from the bathroom and closet area allowed for housekeeping to clean and give us fresh towels while we were still in the room hanging out. our Butler was Griselda or Miss. She was awesome. She catered to our every desire, including filling up our Jacuzzi tub so that would be nice and hot when we returned from dinner the first night . The resort itself was beautiful. I have been to a few other all inclusive and I would say it’s on the better end as far as aesthetics. It was a nice touch to have the sister resort Dream's Onyx next-door but honestly, we didn’t really go there much since it was a family, friendly resort and our whole point of our trip was to get away, so I didn’t wanna see anybody else’s kids uf ours were not there lol. Gricelda made our experience worthwhile with just being there for everything that we needed. The food was OK pretty standard for resorts although the French restaurant was really good. I recommend the duck. the hibachi was the only restaurant you had to have a reservation and I was not overly impressed by it. I felt like the steak and chicken was a little overcooked, but the experience itself was nice as we met a really nice couple. It was a lot of fun. We are a couple in our 40s so we wanted to party a little bit and also chill a little bit we got a garden view room and it was on the first floor. It was right in between the Party pool and the more relaxed pool, which was perfect because we were right behind a bar. We literally were steps away from the second pool bar and just close enough to hear the music in the party pool and run over there if we wanted to have more fun , I would recommend and I would come back .

Its an average resort. The rooms need updating but are clean amd comfortable. The cleaning staff starts chatting early in the morning and the hallways echo so you get woken up early. This is not a resort where you experience any of the dominican culture or food which was sad. The employees are really nice and helpful. The food is a little higher quality than cafeteria food and mostly edible but nothing special. Exhale club offers you premium dribks but only at a single location which is far from the pools and the beach. Still had a good time but you have to wake up early to claim a chair by the pool or the beach because people reserve them at 7am by laying towels or personal items on them. Often times we noticed people didn't even occupy the chairs the whole time we were by the pool. We also didn't know that this resort was on the atlantic side so the waves are stronger and the water is colder.
