We went on. Travelzoo voucher. The facilities are lovely. We stayed in a junior suite casita. It was an easy golf cart ride to the beach. The food was good. Our only complaint was a morning mimosa for 2 cost (one glass each) cost 50!!!! But, we should have asked before ordering! Food in general was fairly pricy, especially the alcohol, but this is a 5star facility and I expect that is fairly standard. Not all restaurants are open, but we did not feel that was an issue at all. The staff is attentive. We had a welcome bottle of champagne and macaroons waiting for us. That was thoughtful! We had a great time here, at Juanillo beach, and Bavaro beach. If traveling to Eden Roc, bring a couple cans of cat food. There are some sweet cats that hang out....great rodent control option! The gatos would enjoy some e tea treats!

Very disappointed, front staff not very helpful, Not as pet friendly as I thought. Golf carts so you are far from everything. Wouldn’t let me leave property to go to store before checking out. I was overcharged on my credit card

Just returned from a 4 night stay.. We had a 2BR Beachfront Suite. The room was great, loved the cleanliness and decor. The view was fabulous!! The beach and pool were very nice! The beach bar was great, Hector and Roberto were awesome! Very attentive and knew what you wanted before you got up there. They were enjoyable to talk to. Not all on site restaurants were open due to COVID. Only one was open for breakfast (or room service but still the same choices) and only one was open for lunch/dinner (or room service but alot of the same stuff to order) Food was over all good but did take a long time for only being half capacity. Room service did seem to mess up quite a few times.. It was odd that we would order the same thing and it would be different each day. Or i would order something and the next day they would say they dont offer that as an option. One complaint, no TV's in any bars on site or the lobby.. We wanted to watch a football game and had to sit in our room, we would have preferred to watch it somewhere at the hotel but in a bar setting whether outside or inside. The hotel staff were all masked and there was sanitizer everywhere we went. We did a private boat charter booked through the hotel lobby and that was very nice, organized and enjoyable. We will stay here again, but will check if all the restaurants are back open daily. We did enjoy ourselves and the beach/pool area alot!

My third time there and I cannot give this hotel and its staff enough accolades. Santana and staff were tremendous! Thank you for the comfort and safety to help us run away from the misery of COVID for four days. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, the villa was spotless and the service was top notch. If you're looking for a quick, socially distant get away this is the place.

Just returned from a 3-night stay that was truly disappointing in terms of this property's quality and condition. We booked the 1 bedroom oceanfront bungalow, which offered fantastic privacy and was right on the water, great views, with it's own private pool and afforded several nice amenities (e.g. golf cart for use on property, butler service, etc.). Unfortunately, that's where the positives generally end. The property is sorely in need of some capital refurbishment, showing it's age and wear. In our bungalow we had several maintenance issues - sinks leaking badly and leaving pools of water in the floor (2 calls for repair still didn't get fixed); the light fixture in the water closet fell out of the ceiling one night and was dangling from the electrical wires (they did come fix that), there were noticeable gaps between the windows and sills where natural light (and water, and bugs) come right in, etc. Around 6:00 a.m. one morning, my partner got up to use the water closet and found himself in the bright light of a supposed exterminator who was staring into our bathroom window with a flashlight helmet, then proceeded to fire up a gas-powered fumigator before scurrying away. Both unnerving and irritating to say the least. Food in the restaurants on property was generally good / tasty and reasonably priced, but service quite poor. Further, the wine prices were beyond highway robbery. When a $12 USD grocery store type bottle of wine runs $75 before all the add-on taxes and fees, it's just insane. We're used to high mark-ups in resort properties like this, but this place took it to a whole new level. Several room service orders and every one missing something (e.g. little things like no utensils, or ordered 2 coffees but only brought 1, etc.). Indifference is the best I can say regarding the staff response at departure. We recapped all the issues when asked "how was your stay" and basically got a "oh my! that's terrible....can I have your credit card please". A lot of potential for this to be a great place, but it's got a long way to go to meet what's expected from Relais & Chateaux properties. Understand they had just recently reopened after COVID forced closure, but these don't seem like recent issues - more long term neglect and a lack of service orientation overall.
