1. when you get to hotel or when you checking out and they take your luggage to hold it make sure it doesn't go into the Room for storage. thieves go inside looking for valuables. 2. The Be Live Beach in punta cana SMELLS Horrible from the pile of brown seaweed that keeps coming it never ends nobody at the beach because of this, especially at this location. 3. make sure you bring a lock for your luggage or knapsack some of the cleaning ladies have sticky fingers I caught the lady sneaky into my room and going to my handbag, the hotel did nothing about it. the room safe didn't work. 4. the adult VIP side was pretty good, as far as food & room I had my own pool right outside my room. I saw the regular rooms its not the best definitely 3 stars.

I traveled from Scotland with my 3 kids (28/12 to 03/01) to this supposedly 5* all inclusive hotel and the bad experience started from the reception to the housekeepers. Terrible guest service, terrible basic room conditions, no maintenance in comunal grounds, main restaurant service very poor inclusive the others 5 restaurants in the hotel. the kids club was terrible place to leave the kids, incomplete board games, tv volume doesn’t work. The pool towels are very worn out. In general hotel staff doesn’t care about guest enquires. I will definitely not go back and recommend any thinking about booking this hotel to look somewhere else!

I want to start my review saying I had a wonderful time in Punta Cana. There were some positives about the resort, but also many negatives. We stayed 12/9-12/17. We stayed in the adults only section. Very quiet and peaceful on the first floor. We stayed in building 1 which is nicer and newer than building 2. We originally had a beach walk out room in building 2, but it had many issues. Fan didn’t work. Light broke. Sink clogged. So they moved us to new room. Master suite in building 1. It did smell of mildew but was very nice, like the pictures. Only thing wrong was a tub knob was broken. They wanted to move us back to old room after we unpacked. We declined. There is no mini bar. Some bars not open. Stand in line for drinks but they are free. You should Only drink bottled water. Ice machines didn’t work. Charge for safe. Clean rooms and they clean daily if you put service card out. They try to sell you a timeshare every day and make an “appointment”. We were approached twice daily for this which is annoying. Also try to sell you excursions, even if you told them you already booked them. Bar tenders are awesome. Tip them well and they take care of you! If you want a reservation for a restaurant, go to woman in lobby, and go early. Extra $. Try mamajuana. Try chicken tacos at the pool beach bar. People on the beach try to sell you things all day. Food is ok, but sometimes kept not cold or hot, plus same menu every day with little variation. We all got upset stomachs. After second time house keeping was here, they did not leave a hand towel. Took our floor towel and didn’t replace it. Only left one bath towel. And no toilet paper. Only one water. No new sugars or creamers for coffee. We had to find a cleaning cart and ask the staff for replacements. Phones do not work. There was no champagne, or pillow menu. No room service. Not as advertised on website. We booked two excursions with the concierge woman. She was very nice and informative. But it’s actually cheaper to book excursions directly online. Charged us $50 per person more than booking direct and they expect a tip on top of that. Line at main reception was very long. Adults only reception not as busy. There is a lot of closet space in master suite. There is shampoo, body gel, lotion bar soap and hand soap in every room. Also shaving kit and sewing kit. Sisters shower soaked her whole bathroom area. She had a master junior suite on the 4th floor. Very nicely decorated. Huge walk in shower with rain head. Jetted tub and private toilet in both our rooms. She complained of loud noises at night. Also you get locked out of your room all the time and have to go to the reception to have door unlocked. It’s very annoying when you have an excursion booked and you’re rushing around just to get into your room. Another thing we saw was toilet cleaner wand next to coffee cups on cleaning cart in hallway, gross. But overall I had a nice time. We had a pool walk out room near the beach. The beach did have seaweed so the water wasn’t clear. Nightly entertainment. I suggest three excursions we did that were amazing. Dolphin explorer was so cool and is super close! Saona Island for amazing beaches and swimming. And Monkeyland was super awesome!

Unfortunately, the hotel is neglected, I am talking about the general part (for adults it is ok) the food is very bad and dirty everywhere, really dirty ... drunk Russians who think that they are the most important there and shout at 3 am and the hotel would not hear it. It spoiled my stay in the Dominican Republic, I will definitely not return there :(

I actually rating this place 0 stars. I took my chances in booking this resort despite the negative reviews as it was our first time to the Dominican and we were told the standards would be lower than Mexico. I can confidently say that this is the worst place and worst vacation we have ever experienced. Our money would have been better invested elsewhere and this surely is our last visit to DR. The staff is incredibly rude (especially front desk). Check in process took us more than 2 hours as the staff and managers were busy ignoring us because we were tourists and not locals. We then had to change rooms at 2:30 am because our first room was near the apartment rental area all the way at the back where there were no tourists. The entire night we had locals fighting screaming, running down the hallway and knocking on doors (ours included). We did not feel safe at all!!!. Staff everywhere is lazy and roll their eyes when you ask for something. Don’t bother tipping they don’t appreciate it. If you want a seat on the beach then no later than 7 am would be your best bet. If you want to book a la carte then no later 6:30 am is your best bet and be ready to wait in line for at least one hour only to be told no its not possible to anything you may ask. A la carte is not even for the same day. The a la carte booking staff will give preferential treatment to locals or vip members and they first answer with “ no its not possible” customer service is not a concept here. Vendors on the beach are super agressive and will harrass you every 5 minutes( no joke) the entire day. If you politely say no thank you or no gracias they will be extremely offended and talk back to you to the point where you feel uncomfortable. Water is brown but if you walk approx 30 mins away the water is much nicer and its more of a virgin beach. Not many vendors there. Bar service is terrible. Wine is watered down and cocktails are made way too strong. Don’t bother ordering anything fancy if you are not a local as they will just straight up roll their eyes at you and tell you that the machine is not working or they dont have it- whatever it is that you are ordering. God forbid you hring your own cup to be refilled they start huffing and puffing. We are here for 2 weeks unfortunately and every day it feels like we have to work very hard to get something. I would not call this a vacation. Phones dont work in the room so you can’t really call the front desk for anything. One tip would be to make sure you make a list for the maid with what you need replenished especially water and clean towels as otherwise nothing gets done even if you tip. Beach towels can only be changed after 3 pm and usually they ran out. We actually paid for 3 weeks and only stayjng 2 due to personal situation we asked the hotel if they could help us with a better room at least since we lost $ for 2 ppl for one week. They laughted and said we can pay for the upgrade if we want but that it will be expensive for us. On our last night my husband got food poisoning from the so called NYE special menu. We spent it in the ER and the hotel did absolutely nothing for us and did not help us get medical attention. I had tondo everything on my own.
