We arrived and were greeted by very outgoing and energetic staff. We were automatically upgraded to a master junior suite. Jonathan was our butler, he was beyond amazing. He took care of all dinner reservations, also came in early one day just to decorate our room for our anniversary! Overall we really enjoyed our two weeks.

Very disappointed visit, got invited by a marketing company. After paying about $495 for 5 days of stay with a condition of attend a timeshare presentation of 90 minutes. The presentation turned into whole day, from 8:30 am till approx 4:00 pm when we decide not to buy any time shared packages they offer us a trial membership for $7,500.00 then got sold for $5,500 at the end. After they activate the membership I saw no benefits to keep the membership 2 days later, Expedia.com sales for less that what they have offer in the prime hube reservation platform. I decide to cancel and they give me hard time and told me that the money just paid $5,500.00 was not refundable. Now I am stock with this trash membership, my next step is to contact my bank to dispute the charges for scams. I hope my bank wins this case and give them a lesson to stop scamming more people.

We spent a week at this resort. Beautiful weather, sand was really nice. This area was getting a lot of Sargassum seaweed, they worked on cleaning it up during the week. Saturday it was looking really nice out on the beach! You have to get up early though and put your stuff down to get yourself a spot otherwise you won’t get a spot at all. Buffet was actually really good each day/meal and the Mediterranean restaurant was amazing! Buffet had a great selection of food each meal and tasted good! Nicolas at the Pool Bar near our block was the most friendliest staff member we encountered throughout our stay. Always happy, smiling, and providing great service!! A few things that do need more work would be the rooms need to be deep cleaned wayy better, the constant bothering from vendors to buy stuff needs to slow down and more lounge chairs. Also the whole sales pitch from the Alive Club members staff needs to stop.

So this is not a 4 star resort. Giving a 3 stars is pushing it. The property is very dated. If you can request a room, try something in building #1, it seemed to be the best looking and maybe had some updates to it. When we first checked in and taken to our room. The room was hot. The guy told us housekeeping "forgot" to turn on the air conditioning. He tinkered with it and cut on the fans and said give it 30mins. We stay on the balcony a hour waiting for it to cool. When we came back in the room, it was still hot. The phone in the room didnt work and our room wasnt close to reception. We had to walk all the way to the other end of the building. We complained twice about the air conditioning. There was also a guy in the lobby who was complaining his phone nor A/C worked. They said they would send someone. I happen to run into the person in the room next to me, she said it was going on day 3 with no air conditioning and she met someone on the beach who said they were on day 5 with no air conditioning. They KNEW the air wasn't working and still assigned us those rooms. Their website showed rooms available to reserve. I went down and asked to switch to another room. They said they were all booked up. I said GIVE ME ANOTHER ROOM WITH FUNCTIONAL AIR CONDITIONING OR GIVE ME A REFUND! The manager miraculously found us a different room. We wanted to catch a sea breeze and relax so before 8am we went on the beach. 80% of the chairs were being held by towels and bags and maybe there were 6 people on the beach!! We tried to take a shade umbrella from an area with towels but no people, the employee on the beach told us no. We couldn't move anything. We stayed a little over 2 hours before the sun got too hot. We left with alot of those chairs STILL EMPTY!! There were others complaining to the employee of all the chairs were taken with towels and no people in them. The beach is horrible with seaweed. Like most the area. Not too many people in the water. They were out with tractors and shovels trying to get it up... but it's just too much. If you still decide to give it a try, book your reservation to restaurants AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE! We got there on a Saturday and the first specialty restaurant we could get in wasn't until Monday. Now the buffet wouldn't be as bad if there was a variety. This is the first resort I have everrrrrrrrrrrr been to that serves the same food for lunch and dinner EVERY SINGLE DAY! There was no change at all in breakfast nor dinner. Usually a resort would have theme night..like Caribbean, Mexican, Italian...etc. My husband was very upset because he is a picky eater. We were able to get a specialty restaurant by doing a time share presentation. The Brazilian restaurant was good but tell me why the Steakhouse restaurant was out of steaks!?!? Oh and another thing, get to breakfast and dinner earlier newr the time they open. When they run out- that's it for the day. Orange juice was out by 900 am. We went to steakhouse at 8pm and they were out of steaks. The buffet, if you come later, all the tables are dirty, you can't get anyone to give you drinks. If you go earlier, staff is refreshed. They need more help. The spa was good. The employees are nice and work hard to assist. I had a really good pedicure. The grounds overall were well kept. The pools are nice. This resort should be no more than $100 a night in high season. I would not expect to return here.

The people at this resort are what force me to give it a 3 star rating. They are always happy and helpful. The best of all of them was Raquel our waitress for breakfast and lunch at the Marketplace buffet. Of note was Zoila also a waitress as well as Franklin the head butler. The resort needs a lot of work. The roof at the marketplace was being repaired but we sat on the opposite side of the restaurant to where the repairs were being made and one morning the roof above us started to fall apart and I was covered with pieces of broken roof. I wasn't hurt but it wasn't a greatt experience. Both pools are badly in need of repair as are a lot of the rooms. We have never been anywhere in the last 34 years where everyone we met was having problems with the rooms. One couple had to change rooms 3 times in one day and in the last room the patio door came off the track and fell apart. In addition to the problem with the pools the beach was not great. The water was so dirty that my wife who loves the beach refused to go anywhere near it. The adults only is not adults only as far as we have seen elsewhere. All activities were on the family side as were the alacarte restaurants. The buffet allowed the children of some people. We would never rreturn to ths resort nor would we go to any othe Be Live resort.

AVOID! My partner and I stayed at the Punta Cana Adults only, in the Beach Walk out room 2149 (02/10/22 - 12/10/22) for their 40th Birthday and my first long distance holiday as I've just gotten over a fear of flying. It was supposed to be a special treat, and being a 5 star resort I had high hopes, however; We arrived on the evening of Wednesday 2nd October and queued at the main reception for 10 minutes to check in. The receptionist wasn't very welcoming and didn't say much. After looking at our booking and passports, he bluntly told us we needed to go to the VIP reception, and pointed around the corner. We took our cases ourselves to the VIP desk and checked in. The girl at the VIP reception pointed down the corridor and told us our room was at the very end. So again we took our own cases and made our way to the room - we didn't receive our sparkling wine on arrival, as advertised on your website. The room itself was very run down and in desperate need of renovation. It smelt of mould, dirty walls, greasy handprints all over the wall behind the bed and on the doors; Mildew in the bathroom, loose fixtures, dirty shower head; Insects running up and down the wall out of the plug socket; dirty bed linen, stains on the bed throw, cushions and on the sofa. Curtains were torn, broken and would not close fully and were filthy. I was almost ready to find another hotel, however we were both very tired after a long journey. The only redeeming feature was the view. The food was good in the Market Place, however this was closed for half of the holiday and we had to eat elsewhere, mostly in the Windows restaurant, but this isn't really acceptable after paying extra for the Adult Only package. I also had food poisoning on Monday/Tuesday. A lot of the bars weren't open and the ones that were operational were only open until 10pm. We also felt that plastic cups are not particularly nice for a 5 star establishment, particularly in the Adults Only part of the resort. The beach was beautiful, however the beds also needed some attention as they looked very tired and definitely what the pictures show on the website. The pool was in disrepair, with lights sticking out of the wall, tiles missing and dirty water with scum floating around the top. We told the staff, but they just shrugged it off and laughed. Activities??? Where are they?! image.png A lot of the staff were rude and didn't want to help, one guy behind the Adults Only Lounge Bar was sucking his teeth at me when I asked for a drink. Our butler left halfway through our holiday as he was on leave, which is fine; however we would expect the hotel to arrange other cover during his absence. There are some exceptions of course, some staff were very pleasant, in particular the entertainment management (Sexy Belly and Jordanni - who were exceptional) The entire time we were there, we were harassed by people trying to constantly sell things to us - it was supposed to be a relaxing stay, but with the constant pestering, we felt unsettled. Which leads me to the Alive Prime Club; If they ask you to join them for breakfast/lunch to give you a 'tour' - avoid.... this is them trying to sell you something else! It's a scam. Overall, the experience was very disappointing - the pictures and information on the website are misleading. I have been in touch with their customer service and received an initial response from a woman (Sandra Shuster) on 24/10/22 and any further emails from us have been ignored.

We had already booked this hotel before we started reading reviews from outside the airline and were quite nervous. Obviously there’s mixed reviews for anything so we tried it out. Here’s our honest review because it wasn’t all bad, just definitely is not a 5 start resort. Customer Service/ Management - non existent When we booked, we paid for a room upgrade to the “Superior Deluxe” king room. Based off the photos on the hotel website it looked really nice and modern compared to the basic room and was worth it. When we arrived at the hotel at 4pm, we were told that our room had not been cleaned yet and they were trying to get an eta, we were shown to a nearby bar and advised to have a drink and come back shortly. No problem. When we went back we were given keys and were taken to our room. The room was on the other end of the resort which was okay, our bags were dropped off and the worker left all for us to find out we had two twin beds and no upgraded room. After calling the main desk multiple times and them not answering we went down to the lobby where we were told to come back at 7pm. We were a little annoyed that we couldn’t unpack but no problem. We went exploring and came back. Got a second set of keys and decided we would bring our own bags. There are elevators in each block but however ours was broken in block 13 so we had to carry our luggage down 3 floors. Head to the second room and again two twin beds and no upgrade. We were getting a little frustrated at this point and returned to the lobby to be met with a rude manager who didn’t care at all and told us it’s first come first serve wether you get one or two beds. When we informed him we paid for an upgrade he waved us off and gave us a new set of keys. The third room finally had a king bed but it was still not upgraded and when we returned to the lobby for the FOURTH time to be told our room was an upgrade from what we paid for. It sure didn’t look like it. We ultimately just gave up and said screw it. Also the third room was in the 14th block which the elevator was ALSO broken so we had to carry our bags up 3 floors again as no bellboy available Food Buffet food was alright, plenty to choose from but was very repetitive and did not change from day to day. Al la cartes (Japanese, Brazilian and Mexican) were good. We stayed away from the steakhouse and lobster house as the menu was mainly additional money Beach Yes it was full of seaweed but as opposed to the other reviews I think they did a great job of clearing it out and were constantly wheeling loads of it out, its just that time of year. Beach is not crystal clear blue but again that’s location. The beach was still nice and clean Very limited for lounge chairs though so we had to get up early to reserve or you wouldn’t have a spot Pools Were all clean and well kept, lots of different pools to choose from. One main swim up bar so that pool is obviously busy. Again not enough loungers Vendors There are people on the beach this is inevitable but they can only bother you along the shoreline. The vendors in the resort were much pushier but we just said no. Staff Staff are constantly trying to sell you timeshares just don’t give them your number and tell them no. Bartenders and entertainment staff were great and friendly. Rooms Rooms were outdated and rundown and beds were hard Bars Lots of options to pick from Would I go back? Probably not, I would likely try another resort but was it awful, no. I just think people need to be aware that this is not a 5 star by any means so when booking there are other options priced at the same point that may offer better amenities

My husband and I chose this resort for our 15th anniversary. 1st room was flooded, w/wires hanging out of the wall. The adults only upgrade that was ensured before we arrived was not avail. Everyone smokes & the front desk staff is rude. Awful

Awful if there was no stars I would’ve given that. No customer service.,every meal we had to get our own silverware and drinks. When we did ask for something we were treated rudely like we were bothering them. Timeshare presentation like all of them was awful $39,000 to buy in. Was double booked at the spa so didn’t get our couples massage…staff clearly didn’t care at all. Ocean water was brown and tons of seaweed that the staff just moved to a huge stinky pile on the beach. No soda in entire resort for 2 days. Our room didn’t have a working phone or TV the entire week ( tv not really important). Entertainment was Spanish guests only bc it was only Spanish singing and dancing. Food was very basic and sad to say the cheese mashed potatoes were my favorite out of everything. The restaurants requiring reservations needed to be booked in the morning first thing and when we showed up first thing in the morning we were told next available was in 3 days at 9pm. Please don’t waste your money here, go anywhere else.

We originally were staying in Be Live Canoa however due to a fire, we were moved to Be Live Punta Cana. This in itself was disappointing as we are avid scuba divers and specifically chose the Caribbean side of the island for its waters. To offset the disappointment, the rep at Canoa stated we would be in the Adults Only resort with a VIP upgrade. From our understanding, we actually were in the family side (given the number of children) and the VIP upgrade gets you next to nothing extra. We were given a green wristband however whatever this meant was not explained to us by reception. We were past ourselves following a very stressful day watching the other resort burn down so didn't think to ask the night we arrived. We did ask the following day, but were kind of fobbed off (maybe our fault for not pushing this). We requested a room with a sea view which was delivered, however we were not informed that it overlooked a (run down) area outside the resort. The noise from the locals starts at 6am and continues well past 10pm - this is accompanied by their dogs barking continuously through the night. If you want any chance at a good sleep, avoid Block 11! (video attached taken at 9am - music is coming from locals, not resort). The room itself is alright, bit outdated but we didn't spend a lot of time inside anyway. The food was varied - if you're able to obtain a reservation at one of the restaurants for dinner, you're golden. Note though that the lobster, even in the lobster restaurant, is an additional cost of $38 each. This is not in keeping with previous resorts we have stayed in (eg Dreams was $25 each all you can eat lobster dinner on the beach!). The other restaurants (Mylos, Orales and the Steakhouse) were lovely so no complaints there. The buffet is for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it left a lot to be desired - the food was the same day in day out, and usually you had to wait around for cutlery and drinks (often finished our dinner before our drinks even arrived). The buffet food wasn't even that nice, so we tended to avoid were possible. The staff here are generally nice, but they speak little to no English so be prepared for some guessing! You're tortured by the Prime Club, who insist on you joining them for a "welcome talk" that lasts an hour. They weren't overly happy when, at the end of the talk, we refused to fork over any money (were requesting $7k for a 5 year membership!). From speaking to other holiday makers, we got off easy - numerous reports of 4+ hours for the talk and the highest quote we heard of was $40k. The vendors were equally pushy, they physically held my wrist and pulled me to their stall because "looking is free". There is a casino on site, with all the usual slots. The bar inside is a cash bar but you can bring drinks in from the resort. The shops on the resort are a rip off, we were quoted $200 dollars for 200 cigarettes. The man saw the horror on our faces and dropped it to $100 immediately- the shop outside the resort does them for $60 for 200 cigarettes. Generally speaking, never accept the first price on the resort, they more often than not chance their arm and immediately drop it if you say no. There is an ATM on site, however it only gives out pesos and there is nowhere to change these into dollars. If youre planning a daytrip through the resort, it works out cheaper to pay cash (10% cheaper). The overall resort looks very nice and well kept, the pools are great and there's lots of bar options. The entertainment at night starts at 9 and we enjoyed the shows that were put on. Wouldn't say it was a 4* resort by any stretch of the imagination but there were redeeming factors. We won't be returning to this resort (or Canoa, for that matter), and wouldn't recommend it to others.
